Spray and paint your emblems, or any part of your car and then peel it off and go back to the original color when if you ever need to. Pro tip, spin the toothpick. The plasti-dip will stick to the wood grain of the toothpick and allow you pull all the center out at once from inside letters and such. Great quick video demo!
Im going to do my Embles today on my truck, Got all the supplies Im ready to go! Thank you for the video. 😎
Awesome! I missed this when you posted, but glad it was helpful. Good luck and have fun with it!
@@thekevincornell I fished it, I posted it on my Tik Tok its looks great! Thanks again.
You have my exact truck and I’m thinking I might do the same thing
This was one of my favorite mods. Super easy and really gave the truck a nice look.
@@thekevincornell thanks about to order it
How long should I wait after plasti dip to
Remove excess I just did mine lol waiting
I think I waited 15-20 minutes after the last coat and then pulled the excess off. Hope it turned out great!!!
@@thekevincornell I scraped it and exposed the damn badge man lol had to repaint a piece all well thanks it’s 90% done
Does Plastidip not stick to the truck paint? But it stays on the F150 emblem when you remove the other? Never used it before....so how does that all work? Looks great.
Great question. Because the logo is raised off the paint, it peels off the car with ease but has a natural break which prevents it from coming off the logo. (Not sure if that is explained well). It’s held up really well.
Just curious why you used windex instead of another cleaner? Would just washing it with regular car soap before hand work?
Hey! I’m guessing you could wash the car and let it dry. My goal was to clean it off really well and remove any grease so the plastidip would adhere nicely and have minimal dust, etc. if I did it again, I’d use a microfiber lint free material to clean it.
Why did you put plastic dip in water ?
And how long did you wait before you peeled off ?
I place the plasti dip into water to warm it up and this helps it spray more consistently. I can’t remember exactly how long I waited, but it was probably 20 minutes after the last coat. Enough to make sure if I touch it, I would leave prints.
Why didn’t u show what it looked like?
He showed what it looked like at the beginning of the video before showing the process.
This guy looks like Tony stark
Haha... I get that often.
Nice work. Maybe I missed it but did you mention which PlastiDip you used? Can't tell if it's smoke, matte black or something else similar. Whatever that was is exactly what I'd like to use on my black F150's emblems. Looks outstanding.
I think the name of the the brand at Walmart that I used was actually called PlastiDip.
Where did you buy the grill??
I actually bought it in Ebay. I believe I paid $210. Really happy with the it and have had zero issues with it. Still need to edit the video of the install.
Autozone sells the cans for $10 lmao what a rip off. I took my ass to homedepot.
Walmart was cheapest
Kevin Cornell how much? 5 bucks a can at homedepot
Wow. great price there for sure. . I found it for $5.80.
does it hold up in the car wash?
I've honestly not taken the truck through a car wash. I've used a power washer on the car and haven't had any issue so far.
@@thekevincornell Thank You!
How is it against frequent car washing?
I hand wash my truck about once a week in the summer and spray it with a power washer at car washes during the winter. It’s really held up well. No issues at all so far. It’s been nearly 1 Year now.
Awesome video and idea on how to do this.
How long did you wait between your coats?
A few minutes between each where I could see they were visibly dry. I also set up all of the emblems and then rotated doing coat around the entire car.
Oh no you used paper towels. Yikes scratch city. You should have bought some micro fiber towels while at Walmart chief.
Agreed! No scratches this time, but definitely need to avoid them on paint.
