hey guys, I tried one trick with plastdip I used to do with spraypaint and it seems to work pretty well - put the can in hot tap water before you spray and it seems to flow a lot better. I got it to level out quite a bit better, especially when you're spraying outdoors and it's only 50 degrees out or so
Fonzi has a lot of experience and makes it look easy. He explains very well though. Dipped my rims and came out great because of your videos, keep up the great work.
You guys do a great job getting how-to's and color demo videos out there. Company's could really learn from your sense of dedication and demeanor. Kudos to you, sir.
Just dipped my wheels with 5 layers of original black plastidip and 2 layers of glossifer - turned out so good! Thanks fonzie for showing me the proper technique and clear, concise tips 👌 My arms are absolutely killing me too... no wonder Fonzie has such massive arms after spraying that many cars 🤣💀💪
@@josephcatalan3161 half a year later and my wheels are still holding up - look almost as good as when i first sprayed them; a word of advice though: spray 3-4 layers of the glossifier - i sprayed 2 and now the wheels dont look as shiny as i would like after 6 months. Good luck!
Nice tutorial and technique. Now I can paint my two rims with the smooth results.. and shiny even no glossifier.. Just let it dries every 30 minutes every coating. I done it, 3 coats every tires in one can..
For the "peel when wet" sections of a car, should the tape be peeled and retaped before adding glossifier or will the wet glossifier allow the tape to be peeled clean? Thanks!
Hey fonz I dipped my wheels Matt black in October so far they have survived record setting subzero temps tons of snow and salt. Oh yeah and grazed the curve once didn't even scuff the dip. I got some pics if you want for anyone worried that the dip won't survive a northern IL winter
Can you apply plastidip over the glossifier? Like if you use the glossifier, then later down the road want to change the color or go back to a matte finish, etc. Thanks!
can i plastic dip over glossifier? I have put the glossifier on my plastidipped rims, but decided i like the flat black look better. can i just dip on top of the glossifier??
Instead of struggling to get a gloss finish with the glossifier you can just put 5-6 coats of regular plasti-dip and then put 3-4 coats of any glossy rim/wheel spray paint over the plastidip. This works because instead of sanding down your rims to use the rim spray paint, the glossy rim spray paint will bond to the plastidip and you'll get the glossy finish from the rim spray. Best part is that the plasti dip will still peel off even if you put rim spray paint over it.
Hey thanks for your videos because of them I dipped my rims and they look great but after a few days of driving I think I want them glossier so can I just take my wheels off and just spray more gloss on them or is there another process I have to take? Thanks again
I warmed the can up and shook it for 3+ mins but it does not go on smooth. I’ve definitely sprayed it wet and then I get areas where you can see the white in the glossifier and it gathers towards the bottom...
As a former female bodybuilder I can tell you you have perfect biceps. Full with low insertion points so there is no gap. To those of you who are oogling that look it is genetics. You can see they are even slightly out of proportion with his triceps, shoulders, etc. The development or size enhancement is do to training but even if he did not work out he would still have a full look. Every pro level bodybuilder wants that look. There are some angles you could lift with to help enhance a a non full bicep but if you don’t have it...well. Point is what you see is lucky genetics. Also most likely all of his inspection points are similar meaning if he trained on a higher level I believe Fonzy could be a top level pro based on just the little I see. His legs are under developed because he does not train them like he does his upper body but if he did train, eat, etc he would have what we call perfect symmetric physic that most B.B. will never had regardless. You look good Fonzy. I’m not saying he should go that way as high level or pro level B.B. is not really a healthy sport. Stay healthy. Do what you do. Thanks for the vids.
Hey @DipYourCar does that glossifier protect against brakedust on White plastidipped wheels?? Easier to clean and helps keeping the white color for a longer period of time???
Hi, may I leave the mags with just the black mat finish? Is there any mat clear to apply if I want a black mat finish? I feel texture is very rough. Thanks in adavnce for you advise!
I have a S2000 in Laguna Blue Pearl that I want to protect with Plasti Dip. After applying the clear coat which will dull the paint, will adding the glossifier restore the awesome metallic/ pearl of the paint?
I've just bought the product - After I've applied the plastic dip, would I have to add the gloss spray straight after; to gain the same effect? Or could I apply it later on ? Thank you
So currently I have every peice of chrome on my 300 dipped matte black and it does get a bit rough getting the bugs and whatever else washed off. My biggest question now is will adding a gloss finish to the dip make it easier to clean off bugs, etc since it's a smoother finish? -A Plasti Dip Addict
Can I use the standard plasti dip can like black n just plastic dip chrome wheels will the plastic dip stick? And also can I add the gloss dip on top.of the black so the wheels have glossy black?
@dipyourcar what will give me the best results after i paint my car? applying the glossifier alone after i painted the car or mix the glossifier and paint together and just spray the car.
Fonzie I have an idea and a question would it be possible to dip your car key?? ive been thinking about it for a while can you make a video on it if it works? and stays
If i sprayed a black plasti dip on my Durango's grill. And there is a section that looks rough. Do i spray it with more coats to remove that appearance or just spray the gloss? Thanks in advance!
Really nice vid, i'm going to get the gloss for my Blaze Orange and black rims for sure! And if you could name the song used in the close-ups, that would be awsome!
If you have already dipped you chrome can you apply the gloss like the dip where you tape far away from the chrome and peel the edges or do you have to mask it off perfectly?
(a little late but still) its probably a blue wall behind the rim, and when lights shines on it it reflects blue purple. Or it may just be a testing rim where they test the cans and colors.
I dipped my wheels about 2 years ago with the flat black and would like add some gloss to them now. Would it turn out ok adding glossifier over top of the 2 year old Plasti Dip? Or should I peel off the old and start with a new base of flat black?
What about dip coat? Does it affect the gloss finish in any way or can I still use it as normal? Do I even need dip coat if I want some protection? I mean it looks like the glossifier already is pretty slick, but I dont know how protective it is.
Can you only spray Plasti Dip on top of Plasti Dip? I sprayed my rims with Rustoleum. I just want to do a couple of coatings with the glossifier. Should I or is that not recommended?
Any trouble with mounting new tires peeling off the dip? Bought some used wheels and want to dip them. Should I mount the tires in the wheels first or won’t it matter?
Just wanted to know, i have glossifier applied on my rim with a black base, would it be ok to apply silver metalizer on top of it or will it not work? Thanks

Thanks for the video, I realized I was going too fast, keeping the can too far, and letting it dry between coats. Thanks!
Is it possible to use the Glossier Plasti-dip on Regular Matte-Black wheels to bring in a shine?
Thats without any Plastidip on it.

Can you add glossifier after you’ve completed the colour, I did my badges a few weeks ago.
I hate when people dont use it right then say it sucks this stuff is fucking great
VengefulSage Did you end up glossing it? How’d it turn out?
Great video! and very educational, I ordered this product to work on my E90's wheels this weekend, keep up the good work.
Just bought a can of copper metaliser, standard black, glossifier! Cant wait to try it on the badges of my mk7 R!
How long does the base color have to set before applying the glossifier?

obviously not.

If you mix glossifier with dip it comes out satin.
Gloss over dip gives you the glossy wet look.

Those are Audi RS6 wheels, OEM are 18" and you can get reps in 19".
LOL, I'm digging that satin look over the gloss. But is there a way to get a smooth texture while keeping it satin?
can I use this on alloy wheels with no clear coat? The salt is killing my M3 Evo wheels in winter. Would be nice to use this as protection
I'm seeing a product from plastidip called satinizer, can you do a tutorial and review of that product?
