The reason there are no elephants in Nairobi is because elephants don't respect park borders and would wreak havoc upon the city like they do in to villages in other parts of Kenya. But I"m happy and proud to report that Kenya is one of the few African countries that have got the poaching problem under control. They still have work to do in Southern Africa.
All those criticism directed towards the guide should stop, noone is perfect. The guy was gentle and friendly towards the tourist that's what is important everyone keeps learning and am sure this applies to those throwing their criticism towards him.
You cant be serious, don't encourage people to be lazy and ignorant in their job. It's his job, he is a guide, he has one job which is to inform, he needs to study and keep updated with his facts. I'm not a guide and I seem to know more than him.
The national park is 145sq km and lies within the city, this means the city must cover a huge area. It's a great idea to have part of the landscape untouched, so we get to know what the land would have looked like.
One thing I'm really impressed with? The tour guides! Very impressive. right from the driver who picked you from the airport to the actual tour guides... very professional and very knowledgeable! Quite impressive!
Kenyans are really educated compared to other African countries. Your average Kenyan on the streets of Nairobi knows a little about our fellow African countries; I’m talking about even the ‘tiny’ countries like Mail, Togo. Kenyans are knowledgeable 🤌🏿
FYI Kenya is the country with the most national parks in Africa, I had you saying Nairobi has alot of trees your right infact Nairobi is one of the greenest city in the world. Another interesting fact is that Nairobi is not the only city in the country with a national park we also have Nakuru city which have both a national park and a lake. I wish you stay in Kenya alittle longer and travel around i assure you Kenya is so diverse and everywhere you'll go they're unique things to see, karibu Kenya

lions and other animals leaving the park are a common occurence only during the drought months especially into the residential estates near the park like rongai(common to look into your cctv cameras and see a lion passing by foraging for food as most prey have probably migrated so don't walk out late night), the park isn't fully enclosed for various reason like to prevent the animals getting stuck in one gene pool over years and also for pasture migration ,you probably find vast continuous forests and savannahs on the other ends of these parks that form some sort of land bridge corridor and they end up connecting to other parks and ends of the country, these mostly end up forming the large sparsely populated parts of kenya away from the towns and cities.
The Birds at the dam are known as the crested cranes (they are the national symbol for Uganda, on its flag) and the animals that looked like dear, which the driver said were Eland, were not, they are the Hartebeest, close relatives to wildebeests. Continue enjoying our country Jasmine

Look at the shuka (clothes) and beads and bracelets that so many foreigners buy and also the Masai culture. Go to Serengeti across the border in Tanzania; Go to Chobe National; Go to Lower Zambezi; Go to South Luangwa; Go Kafue National; Go Mana Pools... and then you will really appreciate how blessed East and Southern Africa really are

Of course, people should know how much it costs and prepare accordingly but I would say the safari is inexpensive because the comparison should be with actual safaris which would cost thousands of dollars to experience in Kenya or anywhere else (Tanzania, SA etc.). So to have one that is accessible in the city (only one anywhere in Africa that is accessible) it is a saving.

The radio is a walkie talkie. It ensures the tour guide is kept in contact with and can be reached by the wildlife service operators of the park. He can also communicate with them in case his vehicle gets stuck and no help in sight.
That is one my wishes to come and visit them just closer I their nature, I don't like to see them in the zooes. Not that I have visited the zoo because I grown in the countryside and closer to national park #virunga where I saw them like baboons, monkeys, antelopes, gorillas, elephants and buffaloes to mention a few, my wishes is to see big cats that my dream!
The lion is a king. It's not easy to see a king like you can see anyone. You meet him on his terms. He comes out when he wants to. The guides use the radio to inform other guides where they've spotted the king. If your guide is on one end of the park where the king is chilling in his palace he can inform the other guides who are looking for the king.

Lions or any cat family are best viewed at dawn or dusk before daybreak. That’s how we were able to see one. They’re tricky for sure!

Great video! The birds you spotted walking to the water are a pair of Grey Crowned Cranes. I think he had them confused them with the Goliath Heron.

The guides use the radio to inform other guides where they've spotted the king. If your guide is on one end of the park where the king is chilling in his palace he can inform the other guides who are looking for the king.

@@Sparxx74clueless. Massai mara lions hide too / in small shrubs bushes. Just that they are many prides which increases the chance of running into a few. They all chill soon as sunshine pops up.
