Pope County, Arkansas - August 26, 2024, Arkansas State Police (ASP) stopped a rented 2024 Jeep Compass eastbound on Interstate 40 at the 78-mile marker in Pope County for a traffic violation. Troopers searched the SUV and found 88 bundles of methamphetamine inside a large duffle bag and a suitcase in the trunk of the vehicle. The approximate weight of the bundles was more than 100 pounds. During the search, Troopers also found a backpack containing two pounds of fentanyl pills and a plastic bag of illegal marijuana. The estimated street value of the illegal narcotics is approximately $4.8 million. ----------------- Trooper's Report: On 8/26/24 at approximately 3:33 p.m., I initiated a traffic stop on a gray Jeep Compass for following too closely and improper lane usage near the 78 eastbound mile marker of I-40. As I approached the vehicle, I noticed a large duffle bag in the trunk area and an empty bag similar to that in the back seat. I approached the driver and told him who I was and the reason for the stop. I asked for his driver’s license, and when he handed it to me, I noticed his hands were shaking. I asked him if the car was a rental, and he told me it was. I asked for the rental agreement. The driver, Anthony Reese, said he had to pull it up on his phone. I asked him where he was headed, and he told me back home. I asked Mr. Reese if he dropped off a tractor-trailer somewhere, and I got no response. He glanced at me and then proceeded to look at his phone. I asked him again if he had dropped off his truck somewhere, and he told me Oklahoma. I asked if he rented the car in Oklahoma because he said he had dropped off a truck there. Then he stated that he didn’t drive a truck to Oklahoma, but he did leave a truck in Oklahoma. He said he was going for a job in Oklahoma but decided against it and left. Mr. Reese’s address on his license showed Midfield, AL. It seemed odd for someone to drive so far to turn down a job. I had him step out of the vehicle while he continued to look for the rental agreement on his phone. While at my car I asked him how long he stayed in Oklahoma, and he told me not long, just a few days. I asked him what he had in the bag because it was a large bag stuffed full for a few-day trip to Oklahoma. I ran his vehicle through a License Plate Reader, and it showed his vehicle traveled through New Mexico westbound and back eastbound in New Mexico three days later. I verified that he had the vehicle since August 20, 2024. Mr. Reese did have the vehicle when it went through New Mexico on August 22, 2024, and came back eastbound through New Mexico on August 25, 2024. I asked him if he had just gone to Oklahoma, and he replied “Yes sir.” I asked him if he had gone to New Mexico; I noticed his eyes opened up wide, and his mouth dropped as if he was surprised. He replied he liked to gamble. It seemed odd that he said he went to New Mexico to gamble because Oklahoma has various casinos. I asked him what was in the bag in the trunk, and he told me just some clothes. Due to his story changing multiple times and not making much sense with his trip, I suspected that there were illegal drugs inside the vehicle. I noticed his demeanor changed and his voice pitch changed when I began to talk about the bag in the back. I asked him if there was anything illegal inside the vehicle. He told me no. I asked if there was any marijuana, and he looked directly at me and shook his head no. I asked if there was meth, and he looked directly at the trunk area, began to giggle, and told me “Nah man.” I asked for consent to search the vehicle, and he told me no. I called for Trooper Tanner Hess to assist with his canine. Trooper Hess’ canine alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle, and we searched the vehicle. In the trunk, there was a large duffle bag and a large blue suitcase. Inside both were bundles of suspected methamphetamine. There were 88 total bundles between the two (Approx. 100.9 lbs.) (Street value of $4,535,900). In the passenger side floorboard, there was a black backpack; inside it were two bundles of suspected fentanyl pills (Approx. 2 lbs.) (Street value $362,800). In the back seat on the floorboard was a zip lock baggie containing suspected marijuana (Approx. 18g) (Street value of $30). Mr. Reese was placed under arrest and transported to Pope County Detention Center. The evidence was given to Agent Chad Stephenson with the 5th Judicial Drug Task Force. Mr. Reese’s Charges: 5-64-440(c): TRAFFICKING CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 5-64-440(c)(2): TRAFFICKING IN FENTANYL 5-64-443(a)(2): POSSESS DRUG PARAPHERNALIA METH COCAINE 5-64-419: POSSESS CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE SCHED VI

@@PolicePursuitsMy favorite moments are the one where Reese had access to a phone and they missed the cars behind him as well as the huge load he had at his house. Although they have this video of him admitting to it… I’d rather them have gotten ALL the drugs being moved and stored that day and had to had to just hash it out with him in court bc they would have still won… and he’s in a tight ring… that’s gonna take care of his wife and kids… he ain’t snitching on no one
He was detained illegally for longer than what is required to write a traffic ticket. The dog didn't get there until 30 minutes after the traffic stop.
"I ran his vehicle through a License Plate Reader, and it showed his vehicle traveled through New Mexico westbound and back eastbound in New Mexico three days later." That's actually really scary they can do that now, basically the police can track you all over the country at this point.
@@TheZombaslayaI agree. I don't think the law should have that ability unless they pull you over. It's not their business where I go. It's really not their business even if they pull me over. Why does this channel censor comments pointing out the law?? Scared of truth? This was an illegal detainment. Rodriguez v. United States, the cop can only detain a citizen long enough to write the ticket or warning. This evidence will be thrown out if he gets a decent lawyer.
What’s the legality of holding the suspect that long to wait for a dog? I thought Supreme Court ruled you couldn’t prolong a traffic stop for this reason.
This is a huge bust and a reminder of just how serious the drug crisis is. It's terrifying to think about the damage these drugs could have done to so many lives. He let him get in the front seat😮😮😮😮 SEE WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT THE RESPECT AND CALMNESS OF THESE TROOPERS I WISH ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT WAS LIKE THEM ❤❤❤
They ALWAYS do it this way. This is nothing new. It’s all part of the investigation and trying to build a “relationship” w the individual and get more information. I don’t think it’s the wises thing to do when they’re by themselves bc a number of things could go wrong. They could get the rifle sitting in between them amongst several other things but it’s just the way they ALL do it.
@@VegasGem3992I agree. While they always do it this way to build a “relationship” w the individual to seek more information, it is dangerous. I’ve seen it time and time again. Even leaving the suspects out of the car while the cop turns his back to search the car is dangerous. They should detain them until the investigation is over. Period. These folks always sitting in the front seat right next to a rifle, the cop by themselves, a number of things could go wrong. He maybe overweight but he could possibly over power the cop, take the rifle or his gun, take the patrol car, etc etc etc. I agree it is dangerous but again this is just the way they do it.
This should be an example to black people that IF YOU ACT LIKE A CALM HUMAN BEING, COMPLY, AND SHOW RESPECT to law enforcement- they will treat you with respect & kindness. None of that “it’s cause I’m black” and “you’re racist” BS. You act like a feral animal, you get treated like one. It has nothing to do w/ being black, it’s about compliance & respect to law enforcement 💯.
So basically you DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT to refuse a search, cuz they're going to call the dog anyway?? Why even ASK then??? The illusion of having freedom.
Your right!!! Saying no especially when they had no right to pull you over shouldn't give them a reason to search your vehicle at all even if someone told on him. Gotta prove it ... This is entrapment and it's bullshit!!! Id have fought and won this case Idc how much drugs I'm running.
When it comes to these drugs..there is no freedom!! Im glad you can't refuse a drug search because if ya not doing anything wrong 💯 🤷 ya got nothing to worry about!!

Psychedelics saved me from years of uncontrollable depression, anxiety, alcoholism, smoking, and illicit pills addiction. Imagine carving heavy chains for a decade and then all of a sudden that burden is gone. Believe it or not, in a couple of years they'll be all over for treatment of mental health related issues.
To be honest, mushrooms are one of the most amazing things on the planet and it is natural, they serve in many ways not only for mental related issues.
Can you help me with a reliable source I would really appreciate it. Many people talk about mushrooms and psychedelics but nobody talks about where to get them. It is very hard to get a reliable source here in Switzerland. Really need!
Yes, Sporeville. I have the same experience with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and addiction... Mushrooms definitely made a huge difference to why I'm clean today.

The Supreme Court has ruled repeatedly that the limit for “reasonable detention” is approximately 15-20 minutes. This also includes the time for the police to run a K-9 unit around your car. The Courts have held that the police cannot extend the length of a stop to have a dog come perfrom a scent test of your vehicle.
True but he didn’t say anything at first that indicated anything he was just talking to much. That’s the first thing I said when I saw this he can’t hold the traffic stop for that long to wait for a k9, not surprised if this gets thrown out seen it before exactly like this
Negative. My buddy had a dog not hit on his car and he was free to go. Just an over-zealous cop trying to find something. Called a K-9 unit in and wasted their time. I also had a k-9 some sniff my girlfriend’s car and no hit. We even let them search it and they still brought a dog. For no reason. Simple traffic stop for a tag light out. Neither of us did drugs they just said we looked very nervous and asked why we were on the road so late. That was their reasoning.

@@HillbillyIslandLife why would the "master" want the dog to alert if there are no drugs? Why search a car where you're not going to find anything? That seems like a huge waste of time. If I was looking to make actual drug arrests I would want a dog to only cue when there was actual drugs. I would also know a dog alerts to the odor of drugs, so I'm not always gonna find drugs, because they're already gone and it takes time for the odor to be gone. I wouldn't waste my time giving the dog a cue to search an empty car. Why do you think cops cue the dog, so they can spend time searching a car for nothing?
Everything Trooper Meeks did was legal. Also, redshirt is not wrong in saying he caught the trooper's attention. There's a reason for that. And there's a reason Trooper Meeks knows that guy was in New Mexico. Don't haul drugs and you won't have to worry about it.
I disagree. Ok, let’s say the stop was valid. We cannot determine the distance from how far the driver was from that truck. Also he did not cross the yellow line. It is common that if drivers are in the left lane they hug the line to put distance between them and the other vehicle. He only has those violations. Now asking the guy to step out and conduct a Terry Pat, unconstitutional unless he has reasonable suspicion to believe the driver is dangerous or has a weapon. We did not see or hear that reasonable suspicion, also he is only supposed to be investigating the infractions. Once he said he wasn’t going to give him a ticket he had to cut the driver loose. Finally, while he has reasonable suspicion to ask to search the vehicle but once the driver denied that, he should have cut him loose. The cop CANNOT prolong a stop for a fishing expedition. And that’s what we’ve seen on this video. I’m all for drug mules and dealers to go to jail but I want things done the right way. This guy will win his case and the cop should be sued and fired.

Trooper's Report:
On 8/26/24 at approximately 3:33 p.m., I initiated a traffic stop on a gray Jeep Compass for following too closely and improper lane usage near the 78 eastbound mile marker of I-40.
I asked him what he
had in the bag because it was a large bag stuffed full for a few-day trip to Oklahoma.

Chubs was screwed from hello.
😂😂😂 exactly!!!
Y’all think that’s funny that’s my cousin
GOOD LORD that’s a lot of METH and FENTANYL
Diet supplements! They were diet supplements! And that dude needs all he can get!
How many days will he be locked up for in Arkansas?
Back here in Canada he would make bail in a couple of hours and be back out on the street.
Mind you when those who OWN the drugs find out he might be safer in custody.
Well last time we will meet and greet this dude.
Bye bye.
@@luckyguy600 with that much in METH and FENTANYL he will be remanded into custody with absolutely no bail
@@luckyguy600Two parents were recently busted for far less and had bonds of $900K each, and were bonded out.
Depends on if it's in a county with a large city like Little Rock, West Memphis, where leftys cluster like cockroaches in hives, electing lefty judges and prosecutors. I didn't read the report, notice where it was. N. Little Rock, now they'll throw you under the jail.
That should be at least life in prison cause that is gonna kill people
That state trooper kept it very professional he's just doing he's job that's all
It’s Arkansas, NOTAlabama! You’re under arrest!!!
I ain't no body behavior expert or nothing but he looks NERVOUS.
Well I am and you are spot on. Hes displaying nervous behavior.
He has right to be nervous!
My brother, your ass would be sweating bullets too if you had millions of dollars worth of drugs in the trunk and were pulled over lol
All that small talk and yes sirs is definitely sign of nervous behavior😂
He violated his rights
Those drugs would have destroyed so many lives if they hit the street, people are never in their right mind when amped on meth and fentenyl just one pill can kill someone, so many lives were just spared.
The government sells drugs and these little busts don't save anyone
Them addicts still gone find the drugs to use.
If you are riding dirty, how about not tailgating an 18 wheeler!!!
That would not matter, the license plate reader told them that this is coming from the border. You would have to stop in every city and get a new rental that way the plate reader doesn’t know you are driving from the border
....why not? ...is it going to stop on a dime?
@tvo6453 what's the distance u should be?
@markgentle 1 second per 10mph, 2 seconds per 10 mph in rain and snow.
It's funny how criminals bring attention to themselves by breaking the law right in front of law enforcement if I was a criminal especially with that much drugs I'd do every thing In my power to obey the law and it's not that I don't do that any ways
The guy did good, he knows the law better than you think, he is no fool, but plays like he is, smart fella. One thing he did is establish on camera that he "does not understand." behind every request to search the vehicle. Smart! Then he established the officer had no other reason to pull him over besides reading his license plate..... So the other reasons are going to be bullshit in court. Long story short, this is not admissible in court and all charges will be dropped, mean while a loaded 18 wheeler packet to the max with 200 million in drugs passed by, I suspect this guy is just a decoy, he is too comfortable and knows his shit too well.
The problem here is the officer extended the stop long past its original reason on a suspicion waiting for a dog Supreme Court has ruled that they are not able to extend a traffic stop longer than reasonable for suspicion
Wow Mr. scumsucking lawyer wannable defending some peddler distributing a hundred pounds of heroin and meth to infect another community/generation. Stop playing devil's advocate... You don't wear it well... lol
That’s if you don’t start singing like a bird, your information can be used as probable cause. That’s why they pull them over for a traffic violation that nobody ever in the history of driving gets pulled over for, it’s to make them feel comfortable and then that’s when the questions come but for some reason these dudes always answer the cops questions.
Yes, good attorney he bears this. This is one of the most blatant "Extending" a traffic stop that I have ever seen. Next year this time he is a free man hiding from the Cartel and his $4.8 million debt lol
Facts I’m just like damn they gone wait all day for a dog because he “thinks” buddy has drugs like the hell kinda wild Wild West stuff is this 😂😂
When he looked in the camera his face was normal but he was screaming inside like "Nooooooooo oh lawd he got mee!"😂
His heart was beating out his chest

Dangerous work !!! God bless the A.S.P ❤❤❤ from Canada 🇨🇦
The cop turns his back on that guy too many times! Never, never, do that!
He was waaaay too comfortable inside the car also...somebody facing those charges have nothing to lose...
Apparently he wanted to get everyone busted...always a bad idea to call from inside a police cruiser.
And for all your people wondering if they can see where your vehicle has been just by pulling up your license plate. I’m a truck driver and when troopers pull me over to do an inspection or so they pull up my license plate know exactly if my logbook is correct they can check my license plate to see if I have been everywhere. My logbook says I have been. Remember there’s cameras everywhere now.
Those damn yellow lines always getting in the way of the drug mules. 🤣🤣🤣
Glad the beginning was included showing him actually riding up too close on the semi. Always thought that was a common excuse.
Its always common excuse
It is but the license plate reader was what got him caught up . I'm thinking switching vehicles in certain states might help .also do not let anyone know what car you are taking ..people tell even the suppliers
There is no way he can afford that weight and so whoever has him as a driver is stupid. He has a trafficking charge already and so no matter what when he gets pulled over he’s going to get searched. Done deal man and in a rental car he might as well wear a sign. He’s so stupid he made a call to his people in the back of a cop car about specifics!
Bet that's the most he's ever told his boo that he loves her 😂
She's not waiting 20 day's, much less 20 year's.
His "boo" is totally complicit!! They always are.
Guy was correctly profiled.
Praise the Lord!
Negative. He wasn't profiled. Someone inside the drug operation told the cops beforehand. If you listen to the cop at the beginning giving the bs reason why he pulled him over. Going over a line? Come on!
@@mahdman3 You may be right. There's a lot of agencies out there investigating and they have their snitches ...
However, profiling is also a method.
On Leroy I agree
@@mahdman3I agree he was profiled and a bull reason he pulled him over. The end just justified them means in this case but normally they're wrong for this crap. A good lawyer will poke holes in this. Though I agree that he needs to be in jail for meth and fentanyl
Great job Corporal Paul
Just give it up, man you were told on before you even picked it up. You didn’t do any traffic in fraction. The only infraction you did was trusting the wrong person.
💯
Did anyone else have trouble with the sound going in and out?
yes

I think the plate readers tracked him
I always get so nervous, especially when the Trooper turns away from the driver. Worse has been done for less.
U single
Uh oh, Trooper Escamilla has a challenge to get next year's bust award! Good job ASP!
Poor guy just knows it’s his last free day for a long time.
17:14 Moment when perp realized they had a BOLO tip off on his vehicle all along.
Actually, I think 13:30 is when his peanuts vanished right up into his body. "How do you know I was in New Mexico?" Trooper: "it says so right here." Yikes
Technology is amazing for the troopers and catching the bad guys ❤❤thank you asp
Cartel doesn't take kindly to losing $5 million. This guy better watch his back in prison.
The cartel is probably the ones who snitched so they could promptly move 20 million dollars worth of drugs while the cops are busy with this guy
They set him up
Cartel doesn't care about that loss
I've never watched a situation where the dog doesn't "alert".
They always alert
Why would anyone post a dog not alerting on youtube? No one's gonna watch that.
@@rk-us3zl My point is they r trained to always alert or at least follow the masters cue
@@rk-us3zlyou obviously have no clue how law enforcement operates
That was my Birthday. What an awesome gift! Thank you Arkansas Troopers!
When he asked if the k9 dont alert to nothing? Then the cop said "then youre free to go" that head nod was him praying the dog have COVID
Isn’t that, that guy from LIFE….”you gon eat yo cornbread”
😂😂 funny. He might just do life in prison too
@whatsupfoo4592 😂 that’s my show 💯
He looks nothing like him u must be a white person? Lol
He looks nothing like him u must be white?
Everything Trooper Meeks did was legal. Also, redshirt is not wrong in saying he caught the trooper's attention. There's a reason for that. And there's a reason Trooper Meeks knows that guy was in New Mexico. Don't haul drugs and you won't have to worry about it.
Obey the law, and you have no worries. None.
@@andrewbitetti7911 yes, you can tell if he was to close, by taking known measurements: sides of his vehicle, speed they were traveling. And all he has to do is touch the stripe. That's all.
The police jsut type your license plate number into the computer. And can instantly see where you have been. There are cameras literally everywhere.
@@user-h2db3u Yes, that is clear. I'm wondering what this system is, because I've not heard it called by name. EDIT: from an article written in 2020, it's an automated license plate reader/lookup tool called TALON. I HAVE heard of that years ago, I just didn't know it was aggregated nationwide (700 cities in 2020) and could be accessed by law enforcement agencies that participate.
People think trafficking drugs is just that, but you are responsible for the deaths that occur as a result of your actions. You are a murderer.
This guy had a heck of a weekend lined up.
