Congrats for all these skilled men.👏But unfortunately;the welding of cast iron materials are not safe for a long time.Because of impurities and small differences of the qualities between welding materials and main body. The high temperature of the engine causes different expansions to the different material of the welding parts which will cause inevitable cracks. So,this kind of fixings are not durable for a long time..😥

@DiscoveringSkills clearly states in several posts that this is a "welding project" and "not a repair".
So, as a welding project, it looks good externally and if thats all it was meant to be, that is fine, but it certainly wouldn't be usable as a functional head.

Let me clarify a few points with a comparison.
I’m not deeply familiar with the FAW diesel truck engine commonly used in Pakistan, but I did some research. These engines are designed for developing markets where cost-effectiveness and reliability are priorities. However, FAW engines are not typically considered "world-class" in the same category as engines from manufacturers like Cummins, Mercedes-Benz, or Volvo. These global leaders are known for their advanced technology, durability, and performance.
It seems your understanding is limited due to a lack of experience with more sophisticated engines. In developed countries, engine designs have advanced far beyond the simplicity of FAW engines. Modern engines do not rely on external tubing to deliver oil for lubrication and cooling. Instead, they feature integrated oiling systems engineered for maximum efficiency and reliability. For example, the first hollow pushrod was introduced in a mass-produced engine in the U.S. in 1949, and this has been standard in most engines for decades. Even FAW engines have internal oil passages in the cylinder head for oil return, showing how common these advancements are.
Currently, I don’t own a diesel engine, but my largest engine is a 7.5-liter (460 CI) gasoline engine, which, like most gas engines, has hollow pushrods. This design is typical because it is efficient and reliable.
Your exposure to engines is different from mine. I was trained in high school many years ago in automotive repair and have since rebuilt engines, including some "hot rods" that also featured hollow pushrods.
In our repair shops, we work in clean, climate-controlled environments with concrete floors, proper lighting, and ventilation. We maintain high standards of professionalism, which includes respect for others, even when we disagree.
I’ve had the privilege of traveling the world, visiting places like Argentina, Australia, Indonesia, Zimbabwe, Yemen, Finland, and others. Some of these locations were underdeveloped, but none were as crude as what was depicted in the video. I encourage you to broaden your understanding by experiencing different cultures and learning what you don’t yet know.
Remember, it’s often wiser to seek knowledge before asserting yourself in a conversation. As the saying goes: “It’s better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

All the goodwill in the world and respect for other's opinions, laws of physics will prevail. Loving your brother will not seal water jackets. Perhaps you should have remained silent to preserve your self image.

@@robames1293 "Self-image" is internal. Pretending this welding demonstration is somehow a quality repair would be detrimental to my self-image and contrary to my sense of honesty. The video is crude work wasted on a crude engine. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

The amount of carbon migration in that weld would make this very brittle, cant see it lasting for long, especially under torque load.

I had never seen that welding a brocken Engine was ever succesfully done and possible. The different Materials hat two different behavior if they get warm. The welding will crack again.

Usually this type of workmanship fails week or month and returns back to the same or other workshop. this has become continuous income for this type of workshop for their failures.
