- Civilization 6 is back with a brand new update on the frontier pass and a free update as a celebration of this game being 4 years old its civ 6 pirates or civilization 6 pirates! Of course Spiff is going to be ignoring all of these updates and new secret societies game mode and instead playing the strangest and most challenging game of Civ 6 yet. The Spiffing Brit will be trying to win the Game with faith only! Thats right a Faith / religion Only Challenge! Is it even possible to win a game without focusing down science, converting, military world conquest or culture. Well it turns out Spiff has found a way to exploit the games mechanics to generate far more faith than you realistically should be allowed to! So is Civ 6 a perfectly balanced game WITH NO EXPLOITS, Except for the Ethiopian civand the faith challenge. So is spiff going for a conquest victory, science victory, tourism or perhaps a diplomatic victory! Who knows what he can even do with all of these exploits!!!! I guess he has found a way to break the game so lets find out. Surely Civilization vi is a perfectly balanced game ;)
So sit back and watch as the spiffing brit tests to see if Civilization 6 is a perfectly balanced game with no exploits or if the faith Only Challenge is broken!! How can you even win a game of civ without diversifying an empire!

@@CiaranMaxwell the first 3 wonders- great bath, hanging gardens, and pyramids -are notoriously hard to get because AI speedrun them 9 times out of 10. And diety gives the AI even more production so they are much more likely to beat you to those wonders
Deity AI also gets extra science and I believe free tech boosts so they'll often be several turns into building it before you even finish the relevant research.
What if the idea for balancing this game is "no one is OP if everyone is OP"
I mean, that'd honestly be a not-unreasonable balance philosophy. But they'll have quite a lot of work to do to achieve it, particularly in terms of improving the old pre-powercreep civs.

That's basically how Heroes of Might and Magic III works and it works really, really well.
In a single game of Heroes III you can have
>Necropolis raising armies of over 5000 liches every time they win a fight
>Rampart making more money than every other player in the game off of interest alone
>Castle circle-resurrecting themselves into immortality
>Inferno screaming in the corner curled into a ball
>Conflux spamming suicide bombers with Armageddon's blade, shredding entire armies with almost no losses
>Dungeon petrifying everyone and laughing while the now immobile enemies are tossed around like Weeping Angels trying to go after the Hulk
>Tower teleporting around the map to take castles out from behind garrisons just because they can
>Fortress turning every battle into the running of the bulls, a sport which no-one survives
This is how Dota 2 is balanced and it works really well. It’s way better balanced than similar games

It seems that Grimsby inspires such faith because the people that live there know with absolute certainty: There must be a Satan, and he calls himself "Spiff"
In Firaxis' defense, I don't think the modes like Secret Societies & Apocalypse are meant to be "balanced".
They are usually very good at what they do, so there is no way this was intended to be anything else than what it is

I actually replicated this a while back when I found out about this exploit and as a whole civilization I was producing 50,000+ faith per turn because I was on a primordial map as Ethiopia, and I had the fire goddess pantheon. Coincidentally I was surrounded by a lot of volcanoes and fissures. I absolutely steamrolled all religions in the game (the other civs were gran Colombia, Norway, Inca, India, Brazil, Spain and the Khmer) I couldn't have rolled a more religious game and this was completely random too! I got a religious victory and at one point I had 50+ apostles on the map on a quest to wipe out Catholicism it was absolutely beautiful nothing could stop me and I felt like God himself. I wasn't satisfied untill every single city in the world was following my religion and that's exactly what I did. 10/10 best waste of several days I've ever had 12/10 would do again.

I remember one particularly fun Civ 6 game where I decided to try and play an Athens like mentality. I maxed out naval tech and had my military navy oriented, and had my capital city (which I also made sure had high production) on an ocean.
And then, to top off the industrial zone and a harbor, I got the Venetian Arsenal.
A full fleet group with an aircraft carrier, destroyers, and a nuclear submarine? Two of those fleets in a few turns.
Very fun times, I'd make a fleet whenever I encountered hostiles and scrap it when not in use to save on upkeep.

you know, sanguine pact is good, but have you tried... the voidsingers? (their cultists are dirt cheap when considering ethiopia's faith gain, and it is completely possible to win a culture victory with religious tourism before anyone even has more than 50 culture per turn. Trust me, its busted)
Voidsingers is better than sanguine pact for this because you get an extra 20% faith as science, culture and gold, giving a 35% total on science and culture + 20% as gold opposed to 30%(from the castles doubling faith) in science and culture
@@vascofernandes295 another excellent point. I was thinking more purely about faith gain, but yeah, the 20% gold, science and culture bonuses are also busted.

Just so you know, view counts are impossible to be accurate. The server has to notice that view then it has to add that to the view counter, then it has to update the video counter, THEN it has to send the view count to your PC. At any point in this process the number can and will lag out of accuracy

I have to assume that those vampire castles dont copy the yields from each other.
But after seeing this I'm not so sure the Civ devs would of thought of that being an issue.

Well, technically Potato exploited it with the Voidsingers rather than with the the Vampires, so that specific bit is new (and arguably further optimized, though I think both strategies are quite powerful in their own right).
