How to make a custom 8ball shifter

I finally got stuck into this ratty old looking boot, with a $10 ball and some leftover vinyl, I crafted an iconic looking gear shifter.

Acetone removes ink

You could maybe try some vanish or sard on a cotton tip to remove the pen ink?

Came up great.
Hopefully the Coppers are okay where you are, because I’ve seen them defect blokes for not having the shift pattern impregnated on the shift knob.
