Very nice video! I've just bought myself a Suzuki ltr 450 -08! This will help alot, thanks! One question though, was it me or did you forget to show how to drain the transmission oil? Im new at this so treat me likewise :)

The "drain bolts" selected for this demonstration are actually not on the Suzuki parts diagram. If you use them and strip them it may be a challenge replacing them. Instead use the two drain plugs that face horizontally. They have replaceable crush washers. Thanks!

my 06 LTR only takes 1200ml in the tank and 400 ml in clutch also.
Mine too!!! Tranny side says 400ml; engine side says 1200 ml engraved to the left of the hole! What year did the 1600ml+400ml stuff start?? 🤨

You should have just taken out the two 10mm head bolts facing the left (sprocket) side and then the oil tank. No need for the allen wrench.
Just bought an ltr. Should I see the oil when I open up the bottom end to check it? The dip stick is fine but the other I don't see much

hey anyone with a LTR 450 should read their manual on how much oil their LTR 450 takes because some are different im not sure why but some LTR 450s take only 1600 ml, And some take 2000ml so make sure you know how much your LTR takes. the clutch side tells you right under the cap how much it takes, and the tank side should have a silver stiker under its cap also that tells you how much to use on that side. also another good oil to use and better then motul is Castrol Actevo X-TRA 4T OFF ROAD.
Everytime I change my oil, I take out the 10mm bolts on the bottom of the engine case. I think I might try your way next time

my skid plate only lets me drain the oil tank but i let it run for a second at a time and let it pump the rest of the oil through or should i take off my skid plate every time?

@ltr450NoS no shouldnt make that big of a diff might try running some race fuel like vp c12

How u put the cover back on the clutch said cuz I thought that was were the oil filter was but I'm having trouble getting it back on

ok i own a 93 suzuki 300 quadrunner where is the oil check. i found a place where the rear end oil can be checked. does the engine and rear end share the same oil? and if so how do i tell how low my oil is through the check hole on the rear end?

I run synthetic 10w40 from Maxima
i thought it was only 1200 ml at least thats what my ltr has on the black oil container
how come my 2009 ltr 450 needs 1200 ml and 400 when your need 1600ml

@ltr450NoS man that does not sound good im no engine expert but i would take it to a shop to let them try to see whats wrong just dont start it that will just make more problems!
this is not how you do the change you have to drain the tank and you pull the 2 bolts that are next to the Allen keys
you forgot the oil tank in the vid
it drains it from those two bolts but its not the right way buck it drains it

This guy doesn’t know what he is doing. Your supposed to use 10w40 and you don’t have to blow on shit to get the oil out. Or Crank the motor over. Come on learn something
