This got me right where I needed to be. Took 2 hours and a few cuts from the metal but... overall better than if I'd tried on my own. Keeping track of the screws is a 100% excellent idea. Thanks so much for the crystal-clear guidance.

Hands down the best instructional video I've used. Good video quality and explained very well. Thanks!

THANKS for the extremely helpful video! I was able to do this fix myself in 4 hours, saving hundreds of dollars. I would not have been able to do this without your video.
I have a few tips for others… Make yourself a system to keep track of all the little screws and where they go. I used 8 little bowls and put sticky notes on them so there would be no confusion.
Just before you tip the dishwasher on its back, use a towel to mop the water out of the sump so it doesn’t splash all over when you tip it. That will save you some work all those times he says “be prepared to catch some water” later in the video!
Before you take the wires off of the heater assembly, take a picture of each connection on your phone so that you can reference that to double check your work. My Bosch had a slightly different wiring configuration than was shown in the video, with one of the terminals on the heater assembly unused.
When he says “make sure the rubber base is under the sump,” he is referring to a circular part that slides on the bottom of the sump to support it off the base of the washer. Mine fell off as I was doing the work, and it took me a while to figure out where it was supposed to go.

Ha! I had the same issue with extra contacts on the heater as well as misplacing (temporarily) the little rubber bumper from under the sump. I also reattached the base before putting the covers over the door/hinge spring thingies... and then decided that I could get by just fine without the covers, thank you very much. :-)

My model was a bit different in the heater element but it was easy enough to work out. You are a legend and saved me so much money. Thank you so much for your detailed video.

Thank you - this was really helpful and clear. As mentioned below, the UK version is a bit more complicated - the wires are shorter so the sump and element can't be removed without disconnecting additional wires first, but a few photos of before and after allowed me to retrace my steps. All working perfectly again with hot water and no leaks. Thanks...

Mine had a shorter wiring harness as well, and I'm in the US. I'm guessing Bosch decided to save 2 cents on each washer, and shortened the wires at some point...

This was a really useful video. Thanks very much. Just goes to show how universal the parts used in dishwashers are as our Neff here in the UK was virtually the same with respect to the parts. Would have taken me a long time to figure it all out. Thanks. If I ever need any parts in the US I will know who to call.

Thank you for your video's about the Bosch dishwasher. I was looking before, for my problem with it but I still don't understand: The programs ends most of the times with a error. Mostly E7 and sometimes E9. Lots of time, the dish is not clean(!) and a lot of times, the dishes is not dry. I thought, he didn't warm up but sometimes, it looks like the dishes are still a little warm.
And I have another really stupid thing with my machine: The functions of the right 3 buttons in front, controlls the signs of the left side, and vice-versa. I know, because when I touch the Variospeed button, the display says "24h" (exactly the button from 'the other side'). I tried to dismantle the door to easily change out the wires on the PCB but I couldn't because of the prefab plugs. It didn't fit the other way around.
So I have a question: All these problems, can they also be the result of a kind of mainboard or motherboard or something? Don't know much about dishwashers (thats clear wit a machine like mine ;) ) but I would like to try to fix it though but changing parts out, not knowing if they are broken, is maybe wasting money.
Thank you very much. Hope to hear from you.

Hi. Thanks for the video. We have kind of a similar problem, but with a different model (and maybe heating system). Our dishwasher is a Bosch SilencePlus Series 6 SMS68IW07E_01, with zeolite system. We have the error E07 constantly popping out after 5-15 minutes from the start of the program. There is no obstruction on the intake opening. My suspect is that some fan for the circulation of humid air is not working. Might it be? Do you have a dedicated video? Thank you again.

Do check Control board solder before changing the heater ,
    Right behind the buttons ....
It just took a drop off solder and 30 minutes .

Went just as described in the video, got it done in 4 hours, with a $140 part. Much better than $769 for a new one! (Or $450 for a service call)
