Thank you first of all. A couple questions. My GE top washer also hums during drain and spin and doesn't spin. It can fill and drain fine. It also agitates fine in other mode. So basically every step of the wash cycle works except the spin phase which leaves the clothes soaking wet. Its likely either the mode shifter or a bad lid switch. Question, if my lid lock light works, does that mean lid switch is OK and I can rule that out as the culprit?
Select drain and spin if the the lid lock comes on then you can rule that out if it doesn't come on replace lid lock. If lid lock comes on when selecting drain and spin try replacing the mode shifter
I'm having the same issue with a laundry center. I try the diagnostic mode, but it won't engage. I've already cnaged the lid lock and control board. It will lock and stay there for about 5 minutes and stay there. I haven't changed the mode shifter yet, but I guess it's the last option.
Thank you for the details, i replaced the drain pump but i guess that the mode shifter is one posible option
