      Sadly, builds can really only reach their true potential when hunters get a good collection of decorations. The fact they’re locked behind what is essentially a gacha mechanic sucks. But, with the permanent event quests and updated sealed feystone drop rates for T3 investigations, the grind really isn’t bad anymore. Try joining an investigation-focused lobby. The metal raths are easy to bully under 10 minutes each with a good 4-man squad.

    • @Matadurr
      @Matadurr  3 года назад +1

      Absolutely. As much as I hate the 30fps cap on the Rise demo, the new tech, older art style, and QoL improvements shared with World are going to make it a fun game. You can expect new Crap Guides, some build videos, and maybe even random gameplay compilations if I have time. I hope to finish up 3 Iceborne build videos (including Great Sword next), and the Velkhana Crap Guide before Rise drops.
      Fingers are still crossed for a Switch Pro though...I don't need 4K, but 60fps would make Rise so much more enjoyable to play. I would even settle for a 720p/60fps option, to be honest.

    Opening Statement and TL,DR:
    I know that im WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY late for this discussion, BUT a really cool set you can do for playing around wyvernsnipe type2 is with the shara HBG, it has sticky 3 autoreload and has a ton of custom mods to spare because of that.
    Shara HBG is my favorite gun for snipe type2, and it also allows for a pretty comfy sticky ammo gameplay with level 2 sleep and para as well; good for soloplay, multiplayer and can be crafted kinda early; it is REALLY FUN to play and I highly recommend, otherwise I wouldn't have typed this bible of a wall text; I separated it on sections so you can read the parts that you are interested in the most so it's easier to read! Have a great day and happy hunting!
    The Mods and Why:
    The 5 mods I run are the snipe type2, shield 3 for super comfy gameplay and the special scope. The scope is only used when a monster is downed or sleeping , to boost the damage from the wyvernsnipe (the snipe itself hits REALLY hard but scales with basically the scope and a liiiiiitle bit with attack acording to my tests).
    The scope gives a 30% boost to its damage, hitting for 1300 damage on a tenderized dummy spot, which gets the boost on waking sleeping mons for MASSIVE damage, which is further supported by the level 2 sleep ammo compatible with the Shara HBG.
    Tips and a Few Build Variations:
    It's a blast to play and I highly recommend if you want to mess around with wyvernsnipe type2.
    Other possible changes you can make is to slot the stun boosting barrel (forgot the name, sorry)for more KOs on stickies, or a few close range mods to make up for the wacky critical distance on the wyvernfire with the special scope. If you want some help with the critical distance, it's around 3 HBG rolls backwards from the spot you want to hit, mind's eye helps a bit with it and I highly recommend it. If you want to you can run focus 3 to make the wyvernsnipe cooldown lower, but it's not a huge difference and it's cooldown is kinda short anyways, I'd invest the slots on Slugger if I didn't had too many free slots to play with.
    Weapon Augments: All sticky sets usually depend on Peak Performance, so it's 1 health augment and 1 attack up.
    Armor Sets:
    Buildwise you could run the same 4 piece fatty with the AT velkhana legs BUT you can make an early budget version that holds its own pretty well with the spare shot charm(you get this from and optional questline given by the palico that stays at your room) and 4 piece raging brachy / 3 piece zorah for artillery secret; but you probably could get away with a 3 piece nargacuga for true spare shot and artillery 3 for the cheapest version of it.
    💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
    AutoReload Footnote, not that important:
    As far as I know autoreload is unnafected by recoil mods , and reload mods only affect it if you get interrupted while reloading; you can mitigate that by investing in free elem/ammo up for a max clip of 2 or doing aerial reloads.
    MAXIMUM MEME DAMAGE Footnote, not that important:
    if you want MAXIMUM MEME DAMAGE you can run an assasin hood with smoke bombs to sneak attack on the monster with the snipe on the scope for a whopping 60% damage boost on a non sleeping mon, but it is INCREDIBLY HARD to pull off, wouldn't recommend but the whole experience is funny as hell xD
    Fujang Sticky Alternative --LAST FOOTNOTE I SWEAR: a really good hbg for multiplayer and sticky gameplay as well is the zorah one, dont sleep on it; it has lower sticky DPS than the fujang one because it reloads slower than it, but it supports sleep 2, para 2 , each sticky by itself deals good damage and is BETTER than the fujang at cluster bombs, since the fujang has a max capacity of 2 and the zorah has a max of 3 with the same raw*(same raw not accounting for the fact that you can invest more into attack augments since its a rarity 11 weapon, and if I recall you can custom upgrade it as well!); with good RNG on your side your clusters WILL deal a METRIC TON OF DAMAGE while the monster is downed, just dont aim it close to your fellow hunters since it has the nastiest of knockbacks; the mods are 4 recoil mods and a shield mod. You can swap that for the stun boosting barrel if you wanna.
    💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
    Thanks if you made it to the end of the comment, tell me if you had fun with it!

      Given Iceborne’s current lifecycle, particularly in such close proximity to Rise in March, I won’t have time and it won’t be of much use to most people. If I remember correctly, the Crimson Kadachi Lion HBGs were great for pierce, and I think fulgur anjanath’s spread 3 was serviceable. I also remember Shara ishvalda’s HBG being very useful until Rajang and Safi options.
      Check out the subreddit “MonsterHunterMeta”, I believe they have progression guides that have builds from pre-safi to current meta. I often use them for jumping off points for my own builds.

      The builds in the video feature weapons and skills that maximize damage potential (and other advantageous skills) for their given ammo type or status, so yes. However, if you don't have certain weapons, alternates still perform well. For instance, pierce 3 is actually really good with viper tobi-kadachi's HBG, normal 3 with the demonlord beast buster is great, spread 3 with zinogre's HBG does fine too, and sticky 3's with the rajang destroyer hits hard. The magda gemitus vulcan is also really great for status gunning.

    • @Matadurr
      @Matadurr  3 года назад

      I do mention offensive guard on some of the shielded builds (spread and sticky). The problem with OG on HBG is that it is difficult to time a perfect guard. Can only reliably proc after a shot; simply aiming doesn’t reset the guard timing since whenever the weapon is unsheathed you are in a guard stance.
      OG is more of a passive bonus in this case. If HBG worked like other shield weapons, where something like aiming would reset the guard timer, OG builds would be really nice.

      RF N2 LBG is the comfiest and most flexible, with consistent damage output (provided you land all your shots). N3 HBG is simplest and highest damaging, but requires a lot more affinity skills.
      Jumping/Release isn't needed on sticky HBG thanks to health regen. Even if your rocksteady mantle/health booster is on cooldown, it's not difficult to stun-lock a monster. Give it a try sometime! I recommend going duos so you can spread out a bit, that way there's always someone firing stickies even if you're getting attacked.

      Honestly, if you're playing through World to just get to Iceborne, the Defender HBG is a good pick. It's literally designed to be overpowered right up until Iceborne. I remember also having a blast with the Diablos HBG for Normal 3, and the Kadachi HBG for Pierce 3 was good too.

      Your best bet is the Vor Buster from Fatalis. In addition to the builds for Normal/Pierce/Spread in the video, it also can do over 200 damage per sticky 3 when set up right. It’s just that good! And welcome aboard!

    • @Matadurr

      Plenty, actually. You would be surprised at the general lack of knowledge in build creation in the MH community. Capcom is partly to blame because they don’t really teach players how to optimize their sets properly and which skills are more useful than others.

    Damn I need something like this. My fatal assault 3 with Damascus b+ doesnt seem to be too effective. I guess I'm not end game? I just encountered a Rajang and some kind of Zinogre. Any feedback is greatly appreciated, I'm kinda lost...

    • @Matadurr
      @Matadurr  3 года назад +2

      Sure thing I can help. These builds are definitely endgame, and many require gear from a monster you can’t even fight until MR100. From where you are in the game currently, Viper Tobi Kadachi’s HBG is excellent for pierce 3. Zinogre’s HBG is good for spread 3, and Rajang’s HBG is actually decent for sticky 3 until you get furious rajang’s HBG as mentioned in this video. Until you can get the Fatalis Vor Buster, furious rajang’s HBG is also good for normal 3.

    • @Matadurr
      @Matadurr  3 года назад

      @@drunkmasterchief1120 I believe so, yes. If you plan on running stickies a lot, definitely start cultivating blastnuts in your harvest box. You can go through anywhere from 30-40 per hunt making sticky 1 ammo (which then needs to be combined with lvl 3 gunpowder for sticky 3). Highly recommend you put the crafting on two spots of your radial menu to do it on-the-fly.

      Yes! Need to be MR100 since the three quests each match you up against tempered elder dragons. If you have the mettle, the tempered furious Rajang quest also allows collection of lots of melding tickets for great combo R11 decorations like Challenger 4.

    Unfortunate for those still trying to farm fatalis see nothing but fatalis armor builds not even any alternates lol

    • @Matadurr
      @Matadurr  3 года назад +2

      I completely understand. If you are looking for alternate armor, you can't go wrong with a good raging brachy/furious rajang set. Until Fatalis, that had been a great way for the bowguns to hit hard with 100% affinity, with lots of useful skills and slots to spare. If you're having trouble with Fatalis (which is completely understandable if you're under MR100), try the Switch Axe ZSD spam technique, or playing solo/duo with your palico running plunderblade. A basic Frostcraft Great Sword build can also be used to bait out the wide cone flame attack for easy head sniping.
      The difficulty of Fatalis compared to tempered elder dragons should really put it at least at MR100 requirement. I understand why Capcom opened it up to lower levels, but it's just too easy to die to him, Alatreon, and even Safi if you're lacking halfway decent armor or decorations.
