apple and its locked down file system is a deal breaker.... sadly...
But the Positive Values outweigh the Negative Drawbacks. Especially since it's $330 and the OS and Performance is faster and smoother on the IPad
@@typhoon_8086 The positives definitely do not outweight the drawbacks. The iPad is cheaper, and slightly less buggy. But the s8 has a better screen, faster screen, larger, more well design, has dex, has the pen included, the mouse performance is much better, cameras are better, camera is at the center, better multitasking, better file system, more storage, better speaker, expandable storage, the touch sensor is more modern, you can also unlock with your face. Just so you know, the a12 and the 8 gen 1 perform similarly.
I do not know where you got the positive outweigh the negatives. But the s8 is definitely better. But of course at a much higher price. But dont be delusional
@@lionellow105 the Positives of the Tab S8 cost $370 more. For people tight budgets it's simply unacceptable to spend $370 more for the Tab S8 if they can buy the IPad 9 for $330 and still have pretty much the same experience. In fact, the $330 price of the IPad 9 was the furthest I could stretch my budget to when looking for a tablet for College Classes
@@typhoon_8086 Yesss! Please read my comment properly. I SAID the tab s8 brought way more features, BUT only at a higher price. BUT by no means does the ipad have more pros that outweigh the cons. Keep in mind you will still have to spend 100 more for the pen, and 150 if you want the keyboard which are both included in the s8
@@lionellow105 the keyboard is no longer bundled with the Tab S8. Also there are more affordable options on the Market for the IPad 9 in terms of Stylus and PIN Keyboards
If I had the money. Tab S8 120hz, android flexibility and dex but for the money ipad is nice as well. Really depends on use case.

Just over 5 hours battery on the ipad?? I get easily 9 hours, look at the battery tests on RUclips for the ipad 9, all of them getting 8 hours plus. Very strange that your test only got just over 5 hours?
My testing is streaming video at full screen brightness so it's more extreme usage.

I beg to differ.the battery life of the iPad 9 is amazing dude.I’m not really sure why your iPad 9 has weak battery life.
My testing is more extreme so normal use you can get about double my results, especially if you turn the screen brightness down.

You will get similar performance with slightly lower refresh rate.

I think it depends on your budget. If your budget is tight the IPad 9th Gen provides excellent value, even more than the Tab S8. If your budget is large, then the Tab S8 is solid option as well
If the budget is excellent then the iPad Air 5 is far superior than the Galaxy Tab S8.

You are running such a powerful device limited to just 60 FPS. I know M1 is an overkill but Snapdragon 8 gen 1 can easily make sure to keep the work done.

You should only compare devices with similar prices, not when there is over 3 hundred dollar difference.
but taking into account the device storage differences and pen included and a modern design but i think it depends on your use I think its in a fair price comparison
i found a tab s8 128gb on ebay for 599$
well lets do the math:
the 64 gb model of ipad 9 is uncomparable with 128 gb tab s8 with expandable storage, the 256 gb model costs 479$, add 100$ for the s pen it is 579$ just 20$ difference here...
Although it looks premium and must feel nice to draw on 120hz, i don't know if i should go for a $700 with lesser a13 in it, knowing the 9th gen is $200 cheaper here(pencil included).
