If I were in the market for a tablet I would definitely opt for the Tab S8 after watching your comparison, it gives a lot more bang for the buck (expandable storage, included pencil, etc.). And this from someone who lives in an Apple ecosystem.

I'm switching to iPhone soon because of personal reasons but I'm not leaving windows. I was considering an ipad for the iPhone but seeing the way the samsung tab integrates so well with windows I think I'll have to get that one instead. Expandable storage is also a massive bonus for me.

@@mohammadwasimshaikh8579 As we know, there are certain app that are not optimized in the form of tablet in android tablet such as social media apps and maybe trading apps like you said, it is because the app dev not intended to do it right now, but with One UI 5.0 updates, you can set the potrait mobile app to not cover the whole screen and make it like you're using pop-up screen
For me, I using my own tablet in landscape orientation and never use jn potrait orientation, so the social media apps will cover the whole screen and not optimized in terms of its UI, which is not nice, but now I can set those apps interface to be in the size of mobile phone, so it will not cover up the whole screen when you use it in landscape orientation, I don't know if you're understand or not, but I hope it helps, at least that's what Samsung could do for now, sorry for my bad English, I'm not a native speaker

I disagree with what most creators keep saying about apps being better optimized for iPads. Maybe it’s because it’s only the most popular social media like twitter and co, but for the majority of apps I have tested, they scale better on my older tab s7 than my current iPad Air 4. It’s not even a competition. Lots of apps I use on my iPad have this weird rendition as an iPhone app, and I can’t even resize it to fit properly. Apart from popular apps like twitter, instagram, TikTok ( basically social media apps), other apps like Metamask, Bolt, Jumia and so on render poorly on my iPad. On the other hand, on my previous tab s7 even if the apps scale poorly, I can simply resize them or even have them as floating windows and voila, problem solved. I cannot do that on the iPad. What I see is what I get.
I disagree. I currently have a tab s8 ultra and an iPad Pro 2018 11 inch. Niche apps like Razer audio app and Disney plus hotstar work terribly on my tab. My Disney plus would 60% of the time not even load, and when it loads, it takes forever to start playing a show/movie. Do keep in mind that I recently got this tab a few days ago, so far, these are the only apps where I found problems with. On the other hand, my iPad Pro 2018 loads up Disney plus hotstar insanely fast, I can load the movie/show I want to watch instantly, while I have to wait abt 10 seconds just for my movie/show to load on the tab

I'm still using my Tab S6 Lite from 2020 and it is still good for watching Netflix and RUclips. Was really tempted to upgrade when S8s were released but I guess I'll wait for a year or two 😁
I have the original Tab S6 and am holding out a little while longer as well. I'm hoping Samsung will bring out something that will be comparable to Apples M2 chip and have Pc like performance.
@@dman1848 that won’t happen again. Samsung’s tab line up will be android for the foreseeable future so unless Snap dragon releases a laptop chip that compares to the Apple silicon it won’t happen. Even then they are designed around Windows not really android. Samsung did have a line of galaxy tab pros. They were windows based and had regular laptop grade core I chips. Nobody bought them so I don’t see it coming back unless the surface pros are hard to come by. If you have issues with iPadOS lacking desktop quality apps, then Android isn’t your things. Even with Dex it’s just mobile apps pretending to be desktop versions. Samsung tabs are great iPad alternatives, and for what people use tablets the SD chips are plenty powerful. But just not what the M chips are. Even then the iPad Pro chips aren’t THAT powerful. They entry level chips the MacBook Air uses.
Still rocking my tab s6. These Samsung tablets are fantastic for productivity. With Dex, they strike a great balance between tablet and laptop. I ended up choosing it over a Surface Go and Pro.
You can justify buying a tablet if you mostly use your phone for media consumption. Instead of buying a flagship phone for thousands of dollars, you can buy a midrange Samsung A series plus a Samsung tablet or you can buy an iPhone SE and an iPad 10 for less than thousand dollars. But hey, if you don't need a tablet then yeah, buying these are a waste.

I own an iPad and Galaxy Tab and I pick up my Galaxy Tab WAY more than my iPad. The thought of having more freedom with my device is the reason I use it everyday and my iPad stays behind.
"Freedom with my devise" is why I've always (except for an Ipad 7) stayed away from Apple computers and tablets. I've always used DELL and occasionally Hp computers with Windows and lately, Linux Mint. My wife uses her Ipad 7 everyday, all day, and she needs more than 32gb so I'm thinking of changing her over to a Samsung Galaxy S8. The fact that Apple only offers the regular Ipad in 64 and 256gb says alot. By not offering the 128gb storage, Apple by design, is almost forcing customers into the higher priced 256gb storage. Plus, by not allowing an SD card in their tablets Apple continues their ages long policy of not allowing the customer any type of "freedom with my devise".
In Germany there was a new years sale on a bigger Online Shop where i bought the Tab S8 + Galaxy Watch 4 in a Bundle for 580€. I dont think i will get them both that cheap anytime soon

I am from India and the Samsung S8 costs about 600 dollars for 8 RAM+128 ROM (base variant) and the iPad 10 gen costs around 480 dollars for 64 gb only WiFi and 660 dollars for 256 GB only WiFi. So, I am really confused on what to buy because I am a university student and 64 gb would be very less for me and in iPad there's no SD card slot and I don't wanna buy apple cloud and all, it's October 2023, what should I get under 600 dollars?
I had a Tab S7 and thought it was really nice. My biggest complaint and why I switched to the iPad was the quirks in Android OS and apps. They weren't terrible but just persistent enough to feel like a tiny rock in my shoe.
I guess for me it depends on the apps. With the apps I use, I have no issues whatsoever on my S7+ which I love. The only workaround I installed was an app to force rotation on all apps.

Apples pricing is obscure here in Denmark the iPad (256 gb) cost 287 dollars more than what i gave for my tab S8 and an extra 187 dollars more if you want the Apple Pencil to, thats 474 dollars more. Apple makes good products, but for the first time i was getting the feeling that i was getting cheated by Apple. I also got the pixel 7 for 604 dollars compared to the iPhone 14 at 1194 dollars. Its completely mindblowing that people dont stop and actually think "is this fair"? Imo i dont think so, far from it
I guess people would have to choose based on the situation in their country but I see apple products as more of an investment than the alternatives because of app quality/support and os updates. Also the fact hat when you decide to upgrade you are going to have a higher value unless you are trading in direct to the manufacturer like a Samsung tablet to Samsung for the benefits. Each manufacturer seems to give better deals with trade their own products at least here in America unless you can find a better third party alternative like Best Buy.

For anyone out there considering getting a iPad 10 with a keyboard, I can’t say for everywhere but the iPad Air with a Logitech keyboard that still detaches and it will cost about the same. If not and you want apple, consider what you use it for, the only problem I have with non pro iPads is the storage but I’m not doing much. My brother has a Samsung s7 and loves it he wants 120hz screen so that was it. It always depends on the ecosystem you are in and what you want. Either way you wont be disappointed, your not being scammed one way or another, Great Video as always.also don’t forget the iPad mini exists.

I'd choose an iPad in 2 occasions: 1- If I was already an Apple user (iPhone, MacOs etc.); 2- If I use the tablet for content creation (photos, illustration, videos etc.); As I use a tablet for notes, virtual classes and consume media, I really thinking in buying a Tab S8...

I got the S8+ and even though I feel i paid a bunch for it (i got it second hand for $600. A steal but that's still a lot) i wouldn't give it back. I don't game or do any artist things but i watch a lot of videos and read a lot of articles and this tablet is worth it. I was watching a money on it yesterday and I felt like I was in a theater. I could even feel the vibrations in my body. It was wild. I don't use the own much but ive changed the functions to control media.
I spent *479$ for the TAB S8* + 20$ for the *cover* which comes with spen slot and another *20$* for buying *256GB Samsung SD card* so for *520$* i got a great deal here in *India*
Samsung s8 is better value, more storage and Altho the iPad Air has the M1 chip, the 8 gen 1 chip is still pretty good and should handle any task with ease, If you’re doing professional work, u should consider a laptop rather than iPad Air as it starts with 64gb storage, for the 256gb model it goes to 750 bucks, and u can get a decent laptop for that price

I have tab samsung it's amazing i would still say go for ipad. Mostly all aps made for ipad n looks better on ipad unlike Android tab. And if you are video photo editing ipad is best. For just multimedia use normal use go for tabs

i used for 2 years the s8, it was a good tablet, but sadly after the 2 years it started to be for me too small, because of it i changed this week to S9 Ultra to have bigger screen and more better stuff
For normal use, I'd say Samsung, but from a 3D artist perspective, I'd say iPad. Procreate is fantastic for hand painted textures and Cozy Blanket is one of the best pieces of software I've used for retopology of 3D models.
For 3D artists, just get an refurbished iPad pro 2018, until you make enough money to buy a new iPad pro, the iPad 10 makes no sense for a professional artist, Way less than the tab s8 since you might just prefer the feeling of the pen for some reason and the 120hz display fluidity and the fact that it is laminated and for some people the OS is just nicer, and that would trump a lot, but if you are OK with Apple apps, OS, pen and the price, get a freaking 120hz laminated display with support for 2nd gen pen and a warranty for the same price, from the Apple store with Apple care if you want, the iPad 10 makes 0 sense in this price bracket.
Any artist or musician should pick the higher storage iPads over android unless you are fine with limited app availability in the stores. I tried to hang on to android for a long time and had to switch. It took me a long time to accept the iPad even after that but you’re better off with the apple investment as a musician or artist. Longer OS support, better app availability, and the likely hood that your paid apps with work with the OS upgrade has really been good for me. I have both Apple Arcade and google play pass subscription for the family and many of the apps on the google play pass are just the same as filled apps without the ads. The average person despite this could pick either tablet and be ok.

A TOY!! 🧐 But if you happen to be an animator, a new app called ToonSquid was recently released. It’s SUPER FAST and stabilizes everything that’s buggy about Callipeg. It’s unbelievably intuitive and insanely effective! By comparison, animating with ToonBoom on my desktop feels like hard labor, whereas ToonsSquid, feels like fun, ease and play. I’ve always dreamed of the day that animating would feel as simple, and blissful as sketching in a sketchbook. ToonsSquid NAILS it!!🔥🔥🔥 By the way, ToonBoom cost over $1000, ToonSquid cost less than 10 bucks👍🏽 Perhaps Samsung is sufficient for the general public, however I can’t even consider them until they upgrade their weak applications 🤷🏾

What artist is better quality art apps I would suggest going to iPad because of procreate if the person can’t afford it then yeah OK go with the galaxy tablet with ibis paint x but if you’re looking for more professional art apps, I suggest splurging a bit if you want a better art program and I’m aware once again that some people can’t afford iPad
The Tab S8 is a way better value. 64GB is useless. You automatically have to go to 256GB at $599 and then you have to buy that Stupid gen one pencil at $99 and then you will need to buy about 5 adapters for charging at $9 each because you are going to lose the first 4 within 2 weeks. The ONLY reason you buy iPad is because you are knuckle deep into the apple eco system and have no desire to try anything else.
Apple gets updates routinely and quickly. My Android use to take forever to get new Android builds and they'd stop support after 2 years. During this same time frame my iPad mini got updates until they completely switched to 64 bit (it was 32 bit) Apple devices are far easier to find accessories for since there's little choice in builds. Anything past the early honeymoon phase with Android means ordering everything off Amazon. Apple is the default OS for business for phones and tablets. I work in a corporate environment doing IT and the biggest issue with devices like Android is trying to support them since they are inconsistent. I got an Apple device originally since I like to see what I support, but I appreciated the Apple ecosystem more after using it. Android can side load applications that aren't available in the store. Useful for certain users, but also opens up risk on Android devices if used. All of these matter as well when you decide on a device.
Windows keep giving improvement integration between android and windows. I'm back to windows, get 165hz display, and because of your video I decide which one I will buy. Seeing 60hz display in 2024 kind looked so "ancient". 😅
Here in my country it is not worth getting the ipad. It costs at USD670 for the 256GB without accessories variant whereas the Samsung S8 is USD750 for the 128GB. Now the price for the ipad maybe lesser but then again we still have the 9th gen ipad which costs about USD400 for the 256GB. Comparing the 9th gen and the 10th gen ipad isn't much of an upgrade so no reason to get the newer one. So in a way apple's marketing made the 10th ipad quite obsolete. And with just 80 dollars in comparison we can get the samsung tab s8 with the s-pen bundled. Plus there are 3rd party dealers that offer that same price given they provide a free powerbank and sd card or a case with keyboard. So makes no sense to get the ipad here. Edit : So the keyboard and case was a bit of a stretch as it can be obtained when purchasing either during a festive season or getting it via monthly installement which has interest rates.

As a psych major, i wanted to get an ipad air 5 too, but after a few research. I decided to get the S8 .If u are currently an apple user and already familiar with Apple then get an iPad, but if u ask me I'm actually using iPhone 7 and for my studies and classes like teams or Microsoft usage , I am using the samsung tab, I find its easier to transfer files and it has better features to use like open up to three windows at the same time rather then an iPad with maximum only two windows. Trust me, for aesthetic purposes and longevity that can last up to 5 years then get an ipad.
Apple blew the iPad 10… Getting rid of the Home button was a mistake. It was iPad’s defining feature but more importantly provided Accessibility for disabled. Also, a simple memory expansion slot or a dongle to allow for updates should have been pushed by Apple. iPad Lead designer Evans Hankey leaving says it all. One thing I always watch out for is when a company pushes “colors” as a feature. I bought a refurb iPad Pro M1 and I bought my 87 yr old Mom an iPad 9. It’s hard for her to turn one on without the Home button.
I bought 3 iPad 9th gen for my kids on sale with the release of the iPad 10. It’s good that apple still offered it with the release. I think the finger print sensor on the power button is good. The iPad pretty much stays on unless powered off and automatically powers on when charged.
Apple definitely blew it with the iPad 10th generation. The redesign was the only good thing about it since the previous generation looked dated in comparison. However, this iPad suffers from making too many compromised along with the price increase.

I'm ipad pro m1 and tab s7 user. In my opinion, ipad 10 is good, but s8 is way more worth it. S8 is superior in all aspects, except power. But still, the s8 has a great power there. But the question is, can the s8 last longer than the ipad 10 for long term use? In my experience, apple products are better in this point (compare to android devices)
I saw a Samsung 2010 tablet still going well, myself I own a 2015 model that I have been using 2-4 hours daily for all those years and it is still in perfect condition and operability. I have seen iPads lasting less personally, but ultimately I believe both companies produces equally good quality products. Pick depending of the price.
As usual in the comments you have those black or white comments, typically those of Apple fanboys saying this is not a fair comparison, because the S8 is more expensive, ignoring the storage difference and expansion and the s pen. Personally I mainly buy iPads pro, but if I was in the market for a cheaper device I would definitely not get the iPad 10 and not even the air 5 base model. The S8 offer much more value for the price.
if you have to decide between the tab s8 and the ipad 10 choose the tab S8. better device. another option would be an air 4 refurb or air 5. the choice between the air and the s8 depends on what ecosystem you are in

I'm switching to iPhone soon because of personal reasons but I'm not leaving windows. I was considering an ipad for the iPhone but seeing the way the samsung tab integrates so well with windows I think I'll have to get that one instead. Expandable storage is also a massive bonus for me.

@@mohammadwasimshaikh8579 As we know, there are certain app that are not optimized in the form of tablet in android tablet such as social media apps and maybe trading apps like you said, it is because the app dev not intended to do it right now, but with One UI 5.0 updates, you can set the potrait mobile app to not cover the whole screen and make it like you're using pop-up screen
For me, I using my own tablet in landscape orientation and never use jn potrait orientation, so the social media apps will cover the whole screen and not optimized in terms of its UI, which is not nice, but now I can set those apps interface to be in the size of mobile phone, so it will not cover up the whole screen when you use it in landscape orientation, I don't know if you're understand or not, but I hope it helps, at least that's what Samsung could do for now, sorry for my bad English, I'm not a native speaker

I disagree with what most creators keep saying about apps being better optimized for iPads. Maybe it’s because it’s only the most popular social media like twitter and co, but for the majority of apps I have tested, they scale better on my older tab s7 than my current iPad Air 4. It’s not even a competition. Lots of apps I use on my iPad have this weird rendition as an iPhone app, and I can’t even resize it to fit properly. Apart from popular apps like twitter, instagram, TikTok ( basically social media apps), other apps like Metamask, Bolt, Jumia and so on render poorly on my iPad. On the other hand, on my previous tab s7 even if the apps scale poorly, I can simply resize them or even have them as floating windows and voila, problem solved. I cannot do that on the iPad. What I see is what I get.
I remember opening Instagram on my iPad, it literally wasn't full screen, the interface wasn't designed for them, it looked just terrible
I disagree. I currently have a tab s8 ultra and an iPad Pro 2018 11 inch. Niche apps like Razer audio app and Disney plus hotstar work terribly on my tab. My Disney plus would 60% of the time not even load, and when it loads, it takes forever to start playing a show/movie. Do keep in mind that I recently got this tab a few days ago, so far, these are the only apps where I found problems with. On the other hand, my iPad Pro 2018 loads up Disney plus hotstar insanely fast, I can load the movie/show I want to watch instantly, while I have to wait abt 10 seconds just for my movie/show to load on the tab

I'm still using my Tab S6 Lite from 2020 and it is still good for watching Netflix and RUclips. Was really tempted to upgrade when S8s were released but I guess I'll wait for a year or two 😁
I would only upgrade when you absolutely need to. If your device works for you, save your money.
I have the original Tab S6 and am holding out a little while longer as well. I'm hoping Samsung will bring out something that will be comparable to Apples M2 chip and have Pc like performance.

@@dman1848 that won’t happen again. Samsung’s tab line up will be android for the foreseeable future so unless Snap dragon releases a laptop chip that compares to the Apple silicon it won’t happen. Even then they are designed around Windows not really android.
Samsung did have a line of galaxy tab pros. They were windows based and had regular laptop grade core I chips. Nobody bought them so I don’t see it coming back unless the surface pros are hard to come by.
If you have issues with iPadOS lacking desktop quality apps, then Android isn’t your things. Even with Dex it’s just mobile apps pretending to be desktop versions.
Samsung tabs are great iPad alternatives, and for what people use tablets the SD chips are plenty powerful. But just not what the M chips are. Even then the iPad Pro chips aren’t THAT powerful. They entry level chips the MacBook Air uses.

Still rocking my tab s6. These Samsung tablets are fantastic for productivity. With Dex, they strike a great balance between tablet and laptop. I ended up choosing it over a Surface Go and Pro.

I own an iPad and Galaxy Tab and I pick up my Galaxy Tab WAY more than my iPad. The thought of having more freedom with my device is the reason I use it everyday and my iPad stays behind.
"Freedom with my devise" is why I've always (except for an Ipad 7) stayed away from Apple computers and tablets. I've always used DELL and occasionally Hp computers with Windows and lately, Linux Mint. My wife uses her Ipad 7 everyday, all day, and she needs more than 32gb so I'm thinking of changing her over to a Samsung Galaxy S8. The fact that Apple only offers the regular Ipad in 64 and 256gb says alot. By not offering the 128gb storage, Apple by design, is almost forcing customers into the higher priced 256gb storage. Plus, by not allowing an SD card in their tablets Apple continues their ages long policy of not allowing the customer any type of "freedom with my devise".

Hey man! I am from India and the Samsung S8 costs about 600 dollars for 8 RAM+128 ROM (base variant) and the iPad 10 gen costs around 480 dollars for 64 gb only WiFi and 660 dollars for 256 GB only WiFi.
So, I am really confused on what to buy because I am a university student and 64 gb would be very less for me and in iPad there's no SD card slot and I don't wanna buy apple cloud and all, it's October 2023, what should I get under 600 dollars?
I had a Tab S7 and thought it was really nice. My biggest complaint and why I switched to the iPad was the quirks in Android OS and apps. They weren't terrible but just persistent enough to feel like a tiny rock in my shoe.

I guess for me it depends on the apps. With the apps I use, I have no issues whatsoever on my S7+ which I love. The only workaround I installed was an app to force rotation on all apps.

Apples pricing is obscure here in Denmark the iPad (256 gb) cost 287 dollars more than what i gave for my tab S8 and an extra 187 dollars more if you want the Apple Pencil to, thats 474 dollars more.
Apple makes good products, but for the first time i was getting the feeling that i was getting cheated by Apple. I also got the pixel 7 for 604 dollars compared to the iPhone 14 at 1194 dollars. I guess people would have to choose based on the situation in their country but I see apple products as more of an investment than the alternatives because of app quality/support and os updates. Also the fact hat when you decide to upgrade you are going to have a higher value unless you are trading in direct to the manufacturer like a Samsung tablet to Samsung for the benefits. Each manufacturer seems to give better deals with trade their own products at least here in America unless you can find a better third party alternative like Best Buy.

For anyone out there considering getting a iPad 10 with a keyboard, I can’t say for everywhere but the iPad Air with a Logitech keyboard that still detaches and it will cost about the same. If not and you want apple, consider what you use it for, the only problem I have with non pro iPads is the storage but I’m not doing much. My brother has a Samsung s7 and loves it he wants 120hz screen so that was it. It always depends on the ecosystem you are in and what you want. Either way you wont be disappointed, your not being scammed one way or another, Great Video as always.also don’t forget the iPad mini exists.

2- If I use the tablet for content creation (photos, illustration, videos etc.);

I got the S8+ and even though I feel i paid a bunch for it (i got it second hand for $600. A steal but that's still a lot) i wouldn't give it back. I don't game or do any artist things but i watch a lot of videos and read a lot of articles and this tablet is worth it. I was watching a money on it yesterday and I felt like I was in a theater. I could even feel the vibrations in my body. It was wild. I don't use the own much but ive changed the functions to control media.
I spent *479$ for the TAB S8* + 20$ for the *cover* which comes with spen slot and another *20$* for buying *256GB Samsung SD card* so for *520$* i got a great deal here in *India*

Samsung s8 is better value, more storage and Altho the iPad Air has the M1 chip, the 8 gen 1 chip is still pretty good and should handle any task with ease,
If you’re doing professional work, u should consider a laptop rather than iPad Air as it starts with 64gb storage, for the 256gb model it goes to 750 bucks, and u can get a decent laptop for that price

For normal use, I'd say Samsung, but from a 3D artist perspective, I'd say iPad. Procreate is fantastic for hand painted textures and Cozy Blanket is one of the best pieces of software I've used for retopology of 3D models.
For 3D artists, just get an refurbished iPad pro 2018, until you make enough money to buy a new iPad pro, the iPad 10 makes no sense for a professional artist, Way less than the tab s8 since you might just prefer the feeling of the pen for some reason and the 120hz display fluidity and the fact that it is laminated and for some people the OS is just nicer, and that would trump a lot, but if you are OK with Apple apps, OS, pen and the price, get a freaking 120hz laminated display with support for 2nd gen pen and a warranty for the same price, from the Apple store with Apple care if you want, the iPad 10 makes 0 sense in this price bracket.
Any artist or musician should pick the higher storage iPads over android unless you are fine with limited app availability in the stores. I tried to hang on to android for a long time and had to switch. It took me a long time to accept the iPad even after that but you’re better off with the apple investment as a musician or artist. Longer OS support, better app availability, and the likely hood that your paid apps with work with the OS upgrade has really been good for me. I have both Apple Arcade and google play pass subscription for the family and many of the apps on the google play pass are just the same as filled apps without the ads. The average person despite this could pick either tablet and be ok.

But if you happen to be an animator, a new app called ToonSquid was recently released. It’s SUPER FAST and stabilizes everything that’s buggy about Callipeg. It’s unbelievably intuitive and insanely effective!
By comparison, animating with ToonBoom on my desktop feels like hard labor, whereas ToonsSquid, feels like fun, ease and play.
I’ve always dreamed of the day that animating would feel as simple, and blissful as sketching in a sketchbook. ToonsSquid NAILS it!!🔥🔥🔥
By the way, ToonBoom cost over $1000, ToonSquid cost less than 10 bucks👍🏽

What artist is better quality art apps I would suggest going to iPad because of procreate if the person can’t afford it then yeah OK go with the galaxy tablet with ibis paint x but if you’re looking for more professional art apps, I suggest splurging a bit if you want a better art program and I’m aware once again that some people can’t afford iPad
The Tab S8 is a way better value. 64GB is useless. You automatically have to go to 256GB at $599 and then you have to buy that Stupid gen one pencil at $99 and then you will need to buy about 5 adapters for charging at $9 each because you are going to lose the first 4 within 2 weeks. The ONLY reason you buy iPad is because you are knuckle deep into the apple eco system and have no desire to try anything else.
Apple gets updates routinely and quickly. My Android use to take forever to get new Android builds and they'd stop support after 2 years. During this same time frame my iPad mini got updates until they completely switched to 64 bit (it was 32 bit)
Apple devices are far easier to find accessories for since there's little choice in builds. Anything past the early honeymoon phase with Android means ordering everything off Amazon.
Apple is the default OS for business for phones and tablets. I work in a corporate environment doing IT and the biggest issue with devices like Android is trying to support them since they are inconsistent. I got an Apple device originally since I like to see what I support, but I appreciated the Apple ecosystem more after using it.
Android can side load applications that aren't available in the store. Useful for certain users, but also opens up risk on Android devices if used.
All of these matter as well when you decide on a device.

Here in my country it is not worth getting the ipad. It costs at USD670 for the 256GB without accessories variant whereas the Samsung S8 is USD750 for the 128GB. Now the price for the ipad maybe lesser but then again we still have the 9th gen ipad which costs about USD400 for the 256GB. Comparing the 9th gen and the 10th gen ipad isn't much of an upgrade so no reason to get the newer one. So in a way apple's marketing made the 10th ipad quite obsolete. And with just 80 dollars in comparison we can get the samsung tab s8 with the s-pen bundled. Plus there are 3rd party dealers that offer that same price given they provide a free powerbank and sd card or a case with keyboard. So makes no sense to get the ipad here.
Edit : So the keyboard and case was a bit of a stretch as it can be obtained when purchasing either during a festive season or getting it via monthly installement which has interest rates.

I decided to get the S8 .If u are currently an apple user and already familiar with Apple then get an iPad, but if u ask me I'm actually using iPhone 7 and for my studies and classes like teams or Microsoft usage , I am using the samsung tab, I find its easier to transfer files and it has better features to use like open up to three windows at the same time rather then an iPad with maximum only two windows. Trust me, for aesthetic purposes and longevity that can last up to 5 years then get an ipad.
One biggest disadvantage for samsung Android tab is APPs. Mostly apps are made for ipad but on Android tab it's looks ugly trust me
Apple blew the iPad 10…
Getting rid of the Home button was a mistake.
It was iPad’s defining feature but more importantly provided Accessibility for disabled.
Also, a simple memory expansion slot or a dongle to allow for updates should have been pushed by Apple.

I bought a refurb iPad Pro M1 and I bought my 87 yr old Mom an iPad 9.
It’s hard for her to turn one on without the Home button.
I bought 3 iPad 9th gen for my kids on sale with the release of the iPad 10. It’s good that apple still offered it with the release. I think the finger print sensor on the power button is good. The iPad pretty much stays on unless powered off and automatically powers on when charged.

Apple definitely blew it with the iPad 10th generation. The redesign was the only good thing about it since the previous generation looked dated in comparison. However, this iPad suffers from making too many compromised along with the price increase.

I'm ipad pro m1 and tab s7 user. In my opinion, ipad 10 is good, but s8 is way more worth it. S8 is superior in all aspects, except power. But still, the s8 has a great power there.
But the question is, can the s8 last longer than the ipad 10 for long term use? In my experience, apple products are better in this point (compare to android devices)
I saw a Samsung 2010 tablet still going well, myself I own a 2015 model that I have been using 2-4 hours daily for all those years and it is still in perfect condition and operability. I have seen iPads lasting less personally, but ultimately I believe both companies produces equally good quality products. Pick depending of the price.

As usual in the comments you have those black or white comments, typically those of Apple fanboys saying this is not a fair comparison, because the S8 is more expensive, ignoring the storage difference and expansion and the s pen. Personally I mainly buy iPads pro, but if I was in the market for a cheaper device I would definitely not get the iPad 10 and not even the air 5 base model. The S8 offer much more value for the price.

if you have to decide between the tab s8 and the ipad 10 choose the tab S8. better device. another option would be an air 4 refurb or air 5. the choice between the air and the s8 depends on what ecosystem you are in

Very nice comparison. I like ipad but free s-pen,120hz display,expandable memory. Samsung is also not that bad.
