I upgraded, but ended up going for a different tablet: the Lenovo P11 Pro Gen 2. It is *significantly* better, but it's hard to describe without using a new tablet. I found that gaming was higher quality and smoother, apps opened faster, and the screen was a lot better. Pen experience and "Productivity Mode" (Dex) were also surprisingly good. Fishbee Productions has another comparison video comparing the P11 Pro Gen 2 with the S6 Lite. I'm sure you'd experience the same sorts of things by upgrading from the S6 Lite to the S8, but I didn't feel that the S8 had enough to justify its normal price. For an average user, I'd say the Lenovo tablet more than meets one's needs. For context, I mostly use mine for gaming, writing, and coding. The P11 Pro Gen 2 has a similar build shape, but a slightly bigger + OLED screen to the S8, and I can't recommend it enough! Give it some thought if you're considering upgrading and are willing to go outside of the Samsung ecosystem!

Perfect comparison; was also an S6 Lite buyer (got the 2022 Android 12 refresh for about $150 on ebay refurbished) that was curious about upgrading. I only wanted it for note-taking and productivity, and honestly it's near-perfect. Near-perfect, however, is obviously not "perfect" and was a little curious on whether it was worth it. Honestly just wish the S6 had 8GB of ram; it's unfortunately sluggish relative to my phone (an S21) and it irks me just the slightest bit whenever I use it. It's still basically 90% of perfection though; so I'm happy with the Lite.

I have the Tab S6 Lite as well as the S7 Fe. I like them both but I grab my S6 Lite more than the S7 Fe. I use the larger tablet mainly for my illustrations and nth else.
After this video I upgraded my s6 to s8. I can say s8 is significantly more snappy and the pen has gestures ability I primarily use it for note taking, scribbling ideas and explanations, so that is my main focus. Also the original case with keyboard, which I was not planning to get, but I did, it is super slim, with excellent pen storage location which does not make the case wider, can fit in my small carry bag :) Love the upgrade overall.
Sounds that the tab s8 has double the RAM and double the storage options as the tab s6 lite (4 gb RAM with 64/128 gb storage for s6 lite vs 8 gb RAM with 128/256 gb storage for tab s8)
Lol I just got an S6 lite yesterday and it's already pretty laggy. Samsung has a black friday deal on the S8 right now where I'll be getting $350 credit for the S6 lite trade in even though I only paid $225 for it on amazon. Lol needless to say, I'm upgrading already
there's two Versions of s6 Lite, the 2022 version has Snapdragon 720 g which doubles the s6 lite original performance, so wey need yo be very carefull when buying s6 Lite to be the 2022 version
Yeah I made sure to get the 2022 version too that's why I was so disappointed. I haven't traded it in yet so I have it and the s8 right now and Kam the s8 is sooo much snappier but the s6 lite surprisingly knocks the s8 out of the water with battery life. Maybe I've gotta mess with my settings on the s8 because I assumed it would have a better battery

i just bought tab s8 at 600€ with the book cover keyboard free, if u don't care too much to the amoled screen of the other tablet and the jack i recommend it. Remember that u have a 4 year software support, 2ms spen lag (120 hertz) and top cpu.
What I need in a tab, headphone jack, expandable storage, cellular capabilities, 7000 mAh, 1080p resolution, s pen, and 4 GB RAM. I don't care about the camera quality, or any other features, just give me the basics without trying to sell me anything else.
Tab s6 lite is running android 12 out of the box, it's got ram plus my tablet has 8gb ram using some of the storage and it's definitely given it a performance boost. Well done Samsung

Because you're listening to the recorded audio output from those devices. The same recorder picks the quality of the S8 and S6L and relays it to your S6L.

6 hours battery wow that's poor I have a galaxy tablet a 10.1 model 2016 and the battery definitely last longer than 6 hours I'm guessing it's not worth the upgrade then I would like something new with better battery iff possible evan iff its half hour longer the more the better I've had mine since January 2020 and I'm guessing over time th battery proberly has weekend a little but over the years I never run mine full brightness tho as I find these Samsung galaxy tabs bright anought without being full that's one good thing about Samsungs there picture is mint

No decrease at all, I'm getting constant updates on software. And is running as new as it was. Just had to change spen tip once only.

Tab S6 lite is better since it has a 3.5 jack, sure it has a trash CPU, but the 8G1 in the S8 line thermal throttle to the performance of the 888s.

thats 6 hours extreme use at 100% screen brightness, usually you can get double that with normal usage
