Metal Massacre fascinates me in a way. It's not hard like Tune Merasmus's Multi-Dimensional Television where you have to basically look up a guide on the internet to do it, or because it relies on luck like On the Rocks, or because the situation to complete it is incredibly specific like Mutually Air-Sured Destruction. If you play MvM for long enough, you'll complete Metal Massacre eventually, but it's hard in the sense that it takes a grueling amount of time and grinding to complete.
Honestly, I hate achievements like this in video games, and I'm glad most modern games have realized these kinds of achievements suck and thus don't include them. They're not fun, they technically require no skill, just ceaseless, tedious grind. This is the anthesis of what "achievement" should mean. An achievement is something you should get for performing a unique task, or showing off a skill that not everyone has. A braindead monkey could get Metal Massacre eventually if you sat him in front of a computer and paid for his tours long enough. Don't even get me started on the kinds of people who _brag_ about these sorts of achievements, either. They're the worst cases of the, "Got mine, screw you" mentality, and are never, _ever_ fun to be around. Imo, if you've gotten every other achievement besides the last 3 in this video, I'd say you're morally justified to go ahead and hack in the last 3 anyways. You've already established you have the skill to get them, but also, our time on this Earth is limited enough already, and you shouldn't be forced to slog through 3 awfully-designed "achievements" if you want to 100% MvM at that point. Anyone who says you don't deserve them can choke on their own pit grease from being the basement-dwelling no-lifer that they are.

A long ass period of time - most definitely years - but over time nonetheless

If the robots do take the route away from Rottenberg’s pit, then there is one trump card you can pull. If you airblast the bomb carrier off the bridge towards the pit and destroy them _without_ said pit, then the robots will have to go to the other way to pick up the bomb. Of course, that’s probably more effort than it’s worth though, so you can save this strat for when you _really_ want to get that achievement out of the way ASAP (so people can stop yelling at you for playing MvM Pyro).
Why would people yell at you for playing Pyro? I can see complaints against the Gas Passer or airblast spam, but Pyro can be played as a perfectly serviceable combat class.
@@janb.3600 If most of the Pyro players you come across are gas spam/airblast spammers (or just use gas in general if youre someone who dislikes it) then you're not gonna be optimistic when a Pyro joins your lobby, especially if you're playing mann up and they're a low tour. I was once in a Boot-Camp lobby who managed to beat Manhattan without losing a gate, but I think that was just because we had two High-Tours warming up while they waited for their friends to get online.😅
I've had this happen twice in Boot Camp on Empire Escalation. The first game I was Medic and everyone on my team was just cracked at the game and carried me. All I had to do was spam Kritz/Uber canteens/revives for them and let them deal with it. Wasn't my best game but achievement was nice My second game was more of the same, I was Engineer sentryblocking all the annoying catwalk stuff while a Demoman helped me with the Huntsman+Uber Medics on Wave 2 and the 4 Giant Scouts on Wave 6. We all knew what we were doing so there were no issues. In my experience the main reason people lose Gate A on Manhattan is because nobody is watching the catwalk and they allow some stragglers to get behind them and take the gate. Sometimes it can happen because of just getting overwhelmed by giants (The horde of giant Black Box Soldiers can be brutal if people don't understand that they need to stop getting hit) but it's usually a result of ignoring the catwalk and then having to scramble to deal with the robots from catwalk which makes them lose ground (e.g. ignoring the two giant Scouts on Wave 1 until they escape with the bomb, which means nobody is fighting the robots from the normal spawn and they can just walk through and cap while you're busy stopping the Scout). I can't speak to Metro Malice because I've not played it anywhere near as much but it's definitely possible on Empire Escalation if your team has some idea of what they're doing
@@DespOIcitoAs an engie main in mvm, it's a struggle on putting my sentry up top to handle the sneaky boys and down below to help the team handle the swarms. For the metal massacre achievement, you could try queuing for wave 666 as a max dps soldier with the black box and max firing rate and rocket specialist and then just playing it for an hour or two daily. Also, spam-killing the support bots instead of focusing the giants and tanks can help you gain hundreds of kills during your mvm missions... 1 million seems like a lot, but if you kill between 3 to 5 bots with each time you fire a shot, I think you'll make that achievement faster than you realize. 😅 For example, I've only completed 2 & 1/2 twin cities tours and 1 wave 666 tour, and I've destroyed over 1.8k robots so far...
And just as I started grinding for Metal Massacre. EDIT: I've found that Real Steal is a pain to get at times, at least it was when I tried to get it. I'd pick it up just as it started to detonate, and it wouldn't give me the achievement until I tried several more times.

If you're map-savvy, you can make a lot of these a heck of a lot easier by designing your own MVM map and custom mission to go with. Doing this kind of cheeky cheese will make those monotonous T-1000000 and Metal Massacre grinds *infinitely faster* while still being, on some level of technicality, still legit.
3:50 achievement only asks you to get all credit bonuses. Theres no +100 for last wave so is it even counted? If no, you can skip last wave. If yes, suddenly you have to temember which robot spawned last as they dont drop money on the last wave and kill them last or you won't be able to get it, right?
I love the 2000's video game achievements. Some of them not only give a challenge but to teach the player some interesting tips and ways that you probably never thought to do before. Literally the game is like: "Hey, you can do this and it could help you win."
as an idiot who wasted so much time doing those achievements (and not even done with silicon Slaughter). Some bugs on the 17 years old game can be awfully broken so as a reminder. Verify the integrality of your game files and/or removing the game might fix somes issues i know that the achievement Bank on it (14:05) was a broken mess for me struggling for 1 month so here some advices 1: Do not pick intermediate missions, only advanced ones. 2: Try all primaries as Sniper. Guess what, i only got it after using the huntsman! so yeah basically, tf2 achievements are a mess, not worth it and i'm like at 500 out of 520 of them

If you're map-savvy, you can make a lot of these a heck of a lot easier by designing your own MVM map and custom mission to go with. Doing this kind of cheeky cheese will make those monotonous T-1000000 and Metal Massacre grinds *infinitely faster* while still being, on some level of technicality, still legit.
let's go no Basil references
15:45 Jokes on you I just like your videos. I’m not even sure I’ve played a full game of Mvm
When that castle crashers music hits 🥵🥵
3:50 achievement only asks you to get all credit bonuses. Theres no +100 for last wave so is it even counted?
If no, you can skip last wave.
If yes, suddenly you have to temember which robot spawned last as they dont drop money on the last wave and kill them last or you won't be able to get it, right?
There IS a +100 on the last wave.
My favourite moment in this video is the fact that you have a brawl stars related video at 30:46.
2:55 AND NOW YOU DO WHAT THEY TOLD YA
I love the 2000's video game achievements. Some of them not only give a challenge but to teach the player some interesting tips and ways that you probably never thought to do before. Literally the game is like: "Hey, you can do this and it could help you win."
as an idiot who wasted so much time doing those achievements (and not even done with silicon Slaughter). Some bugs on the 17 years old game can be awfully broken so as a reminder.
Verify the integrality of your game files and/or removing the game might fix somes issues
i know that the achievement Bank on it (14:05) was a broken mess for me struggling for 1 month so here some advices
1: Do not pick intermediate missions, only advanced ones.
2: Try all primaries as Sniper. Guess what, i only got it after using the huntsman!
so yeah basically, tf2 achievements are a mess, not worth it and i'm like at 500 out of 520 of them
19:22 Haha jokes on you, I’m watching this at 12:05am not 12:30 AM
Anyone else never played a game of mvm but still love watching this man’s content?
32:06 Evil muahahhaha
I watched a vid of a guy speedrunning the tf2 achievements. Apparently, it took him 3 straight weeks of running it background with a sentry and dispenser on a server that deployed infinite 1hp scouts to get metal massacre.
Hey first of all i watch this during the graveyard shift so my being up at 12:30 am means nothing.
Also yay new weezy vid
8:20 can it be done with stock stickies??
Balls-e is pretty convenient on wave 666, as the tanks will typically get near the end whether you like it or not.
