We begin the upgrades on our new 2013 Ford F-150 EcoBoost project truck with the new MBRP XP Cat-Back exhaust. This part features a stainless steel design with a 4" Single Side Exhaust and a 5" Exhaust Tip. It's a tough exhaust system that can take anything the road throws at it.
Bill shows how to remove the F-150 EcoBoost's stock system, then install the new MBRP exhaust. We also provide sound clips of the old, factory system and the new MBRP exhaust.

Thank you for this detailed video,Found my next upgrade now🤗. Glad its summer so I'm not frozen while working on my truck now.
Randi Feemster did you get it ?
I like the sound of that mbrp exhaust.
4:12 Looks like you installed the muffler backwards. Louvers in the muffler should be pointed toward the front.
I own a 14' ecoboost, and I can't find a single exhaust. When I listen to videos like this I close my eyes, and imagine the sound is coming off of a lowered 240sx with a huge exhaust. I guess i'm staying stock.
RideOrDiiie
You won't get rid of that V6 sound, That being said I have a Tremor with a CAI, Cherry Bombs-Dual exhaust with a resonator delete and while it does sound V6ish when you floor it you can't hear the V6 over the sound of the Turbo's sucking and Blowing.
You should look up the corsa db catback exhaust. I thought it sounded pretty good for an ecoboost.
Daniel Reyes The Corsa is only one have heard that sounds good on ecoboost, their muffler internals design is patented.
A Limited!!! the F150 I always wanted!
Have this one and it is what it is ,miss the coyote sound from my other truck but this thing pulls hard and isn't as obnoxious as it would seem
I've been told by the Ford dealership that if you were to go over into California and they you were having some problem or something that that would void your warranty I wish they would check into this better than just showing you that it gives a deeper sound I think they should tell you too if if it's going to void your warranty out.
Since this exhaust "spent countless hours on the dyno" what are the HP/TQ gains vs the stock exhaust?
Robert Rice Sounds like a skyline
I know this is a really old video. With that said, the power gains are there. However, any aftermarket exhaust kit on a small displacement engine with an even firing order, and a flat plane crank, is never going to sound like a truck motor.
you guys did a great vid but the sound coming out of the tail pipe sucks
I’ll keep the stock.
Wouldn't you want to do the exhaust first, then add the tune? Seems like your tune will be off or least not as efficient? Just asking. Not telling. Thanks.
I bought this for my truck and liked the performance gain but the noise was unbearable. The exhaust lasted 24 hours on the truck. It now sits in my attic.
Want to sell it?
Still sounds like an annoying V6! I Love my F150 but I hate how wimpy this 2.7 eco boost sounds. The only thing I miss about my old chevy is the sound of that 5.3 vortec mated to a flowmaster. Nothing comes close to the rumble of a V8.
sounds so good!
Hello there I just got a 2014 f150 ecoboost long bed. Will this fit? And is it legal in California?
I have a extended cab truck with a 6 1/2ft bed do I need to cut any of the pipe to make it fit properly?
Keep in mind that the over axle pipe is placed "right at the leaf spring" when the suspension is fully extended (on the lift). If on the ground use the rear fender as alignment point. Right?
Sounds awesome
I need a good sound of that MBRP Exhaust for my 09 ford f150 4.6l but need to upgrade new exhaust instead of using my stock exhaust.
will you still be able to tow with this exhaust ? i read that it will melt break line?
+brandon dora facepalm
Real question is how much drone can be expected
There really is no way to make those ECOBOOST engines sound good, even with a killer exhaust. I just put on a magnaflow exhaust on the V8 and man that thing sounds amazing.
But imo there no joke.
I do not like this tone. It's not just the MBRP set up.. I watched a Flowmaster install as well. I just don't like the sound of a v6 truck..
I dont know about MBRP sound same on ram 1500 v8 , just sounds stock ,must be because is one of the cheapest exhaust on market
I personally liked CORSA exhaust system i think its good and sounds awesome but it does coat 1400$ usd

Watch that video!!
I bought a used f150 ecoboost with this same
exhaust. The noise and vibration inside the cab is very annoying. Not recommending this “upgrade”.
Was there any break in time before you started to hear the turbos through the exhaust
How much these cost. And where to buy it
LOVE FORD trucks. BUT.....leave it stock , don't even try to make it sound anything other than what it is.....or should I say what it ISN'T....and that's a V-8.
A V8 it is NOT, but it will wax your V8 with no challenge! just sayin..
with just an intake and exhaust, what kind of power gains are you looking at?
After waiting two years, you still havent given any kind of answer. thats some great customer service!
roywhiteo5 im wondering also
@@roywhiteo5 I'm no expert but I think it would be around 25 hp no more than 30
My 2014 appears to have a 3 inch system. Is there more than 1 option for the 3.5 Ecoboost?
Isnt there sensors in the stock exhaust system?
5:51
Where can I buy them?
Hey Bill, what if I want to put twin pipes on it?
yalls picture quality is crazy! what camera are yalls using?
+Alan Guerra a Sony NXCAM
A lot of good lighting is also good too, thats what they have as well
CJ Pony Parts h
How much does this cost?
Get a “off-road” downpipe and she’ll be mint
Yup!
Full 3 inch straight pipe is the way to go. Mufflers, resonators and cats do nothing but add weight. You want some real gains then pull all that shit off.
Can this exhaust fit on the truck with the 5.0l same body so Iam wondering can it be done thanks .
We do offer a very very similar exhaust for thr 5.0 F150 from MBRP, but it's not exactly the same as the one in this video www.cjponyparts.com/mbrp-cat-back-exhaust-system-single-side-exit-stainless-steel-xp-series-3-with-3-1-2-tip-f-150-5-0l-2011-2014/p/S5230409/
sounds like the 1992 with the 3.0 L V6 ford taurus and 1992 3.0 L V6 ford aerostar did when the muffler fell off no thanks i'll stick the the V8's
Great video, how much does that set up cost?
Thank you very much, this exhaust cost $454.99
Is this with or without the resonator? I like the sound
No resonator, just muffler.
CJ Off-Road does a cat back exhaust remove the resonator when you remove the stock exhaust or do you need to get a resonator delete kit?
the resonator is after the cat, so depending on the cat back it will delete or change the resonator.
Love the videos bill! I just purchased a 2013 f150 fx4,all stock.what would be better HP gains and fuel economy, this upgrade to a 4" single exhaust or going to say a flowmaster or Borla dual exhaust?……nice truck by the way! keep up the great videos!
Both systems will give you about the same increase. We made 8rwhp and 10rwtq on our F150 with just the MBRP swap.
Still got it?
V6’s will never sound good. But that sounds pretty bearable to me!
Too much cab drone.took it off after about a week.
Hmm I mean if you buy an Ecco Boost you are buying it for the fast speed and fuel economy, with that you must accept that it will always sound like a Nissan Xterra, V6.
I came from owning a diesel and I'm impressed with towing in this thing. So it's not just those 2 things..
Sounds like crap. I'd rather keep the stock exhaust.
IT SOUNDS LIKE A RICER!!! IT SOUNDS SO BAD!
+Lt Wilson it's a V6 ecoboost it's not going to sound like a V8 shit for brains
agreed
You sound like a ricer
Lost me at get the truck up in the air.
I was #420 thumbs up
Any gains in fuel mileage with the less restrictions of the new intake and exhaust?
and earplugs.
Absolutely. Have a friend with a '13 Eco with 4" Heart Throb and it is very loud on the highway. Annoying. He also has AFE dual filter cold air intake and a 93 tune. Dynoed just short of 400hp on the ground. 0-60 mid 5's. very quick and no quit. Not so good on gas - 13 MPG on Premium fuel. I have the AFE intake on my 11. Thinking about an exhaust...Runs 0-60 in about 6 flat....not bad for a 6100 lb truck.
Sounds like a tacoma..
Sounds awful
Installed, sounds like shit. Worse than a ricers straight piped Honda. Waste of money
sounds like a civic
