If El Primero hadn't quickly selected Ferdinand the night prior to his much celebrated final matador performance, the tickets already sold for that show would have probably been swapped for a behind the scenes look at that highly technologically advanced death trap chopping house that is routinely operational 24 hours a day.
Nina says I'll take good care of you, a line that the person that takes care of blue from rio says in rio, which is also made by blue sky, and both movies are about animals who get captured or something and need to find their way home

If it makes you feel better, I did not *see* the the movie in a cinema or at home.
In case you didn't get this, "cena" is Spanish for "dinner".
I was personally waiting for a joke relating to how the cows think beating the matador was a way out. In reality even if a bull does end up killing a matador the bull is killed anyway. Its literally a lose lose situation for fighting bulls.

I actually had the Ferdinand book ... The story was super straightforward and would have been perfectly fine to adapt into a movie....without all the extra stuff in it.

Do you know what makes this movie even worse? It’s based on a Disney animated short from the fucking 50s/60s. The original is like 7 minutes at max and still tells a better story. We in Sweden see it every single fucking Christmas as a part of a Mickey Mouse Christmas shorts compilation.

This movie deserves some cred though, in that they cast so many ACTUAL latin-Americans/Spanish-speaking people in the roles.
I was half expecting them to cast Adam Sandler as Ferdinand...
And that matters why? I don't care if there Asian, Latin Americans, or Chinese as long as they have good actors and a good story.

Ya, I guess that's true. I not mad about it I was just saying I didn't think it mattered. Your right where it's at it wouldn't make sense to have other races to act out the part. But gereraly speeking I don't think it matters.
That's the point of acting, you have to convince the audience you're someone you're not. You don't cast an ex-CIA operative to play Jason Bourne, you don't cast a convict to play in a heist film, and you definitely don't cast an awkward teenager to play in a high school film. The background of who you cast doesn't matter, it matters how well someone can act.
"I've fallen and I can't giddyup" is an awesome pun, and #1 a reference doesn't have to be instantly recognizable for it to be good and #2 who wouldn't get that reference?
They made a 90+ minute film based on a book that took less time to read than it took to watch this video. What do you expect?

The more I saw about this movie, the less I wanted to see it. The tagline gave me an awesome story I was excited about, then I find out it's a silly talking-animal shenanigans flick. Plus, I really dislike John Cena.

I'm sure he's a fine person, but I really hate his wrestler persona, so that makes it difficult for me to want to see something he's starring in.
