NEW 3-Day a Week, True Beginner, 30 Minute Calisthenics Program starts on Monday, June 3rd: summerfunfitness.com/3-day-true-beginner-calisthenics-program
I can’t believe I just did a “Calisthenics” workout, even if at a beginner level. Calisthenics is so cool but so intimidating. Thanks for making it accessible. This was so fun. :’)
This is so helpful and unpretentious. The other RUclipsrs I checked out were showing off what they can do, rather than teaching. Thank you so much for this! 💗
This was a great beginner workout. I am 53 yrs old and have had several significant injuries the past. 2 yrs. I was able to do almost all of the sets, except I cannot have my head down for a long period of time. It gives me a migraine. I need to get stronger and I think this routine will help me. Now I just have to stay motivated. Thank you
Our stories are VERY similar. I'm about to turn 66, had a really bad accident 3 years ago and STILL have significant problems. Also ... OMG with the migraines! 😢 But ... Summer actually makes me feel like THIS is the answer I have been looking for. I haven't been this hopeful that I could actually improve my situation until coming across this video. Good luck to you!
I hate them too. I remember when I was 14 I was very athletic, I used to attend a sports school (=exercise 2hrs everyday.for 5 years) and I used to have problems with this exercise even back then.
I have never been so happy at being recommended a random workout. This was probably the best calisthenic for actual beginners workout I have ever come across 🥰
I have chronic back/knee pain and hip misalignments from having flat feet, wearing bad shoes and then weight gain + inactivity. I’ve been slowly losing weight for about 2 years, exercising on and off because of routine disruptions (like vacations) or pain. I’ve been doing this workout for only a little over a week and…I’m shocked at how much strength I’ve gained so quickly and how it has relieved some pain!! Thank you for this accessible beginner video!!
This workout is great, I'm a true beginner and i love follow along workouts. More like this please! I also love how everything is taken slow so I can really feel and get the form and engagement right on each exercise.
@@shivarkb2010hey there, better ask a doctor who knows better rather than strangers! I think it’s probably good to still train even with a half paralyzed body but maybe if you got half paralyzed due to a injury you must see which workouts you should leave out :)
I am just now finding this video and I’m super grateful for your words of affirmation during this video. I already started a challenge doing yoga every single day as I need to work on my mobility. I used to be very strong and toned. Things happened and I’m not now. I’m working on getting it back with new obstacles. Thank you for making this! I cannot wait to see more of your videos and get strong.
Thank you. I work out about 6 days a week but struggle with my flexibility. I try to stretch and stay mobile but your program made me realize how much more I need to do calisthenics. I don't care to ever do a handstand but I grew up doing calisthenics and lost touch with that as I aged. Thank you for bringing this short video back because we have so little time in our day with work, driving, cooking, children, etc. --- So, I'll continue to fit these short videos into my workouts. I did this after my workout today but may switch it around. A few years ago I fell backwards and now have 3 bulging discs in my neck, but truly believe I can make them shrink by having good strength in my upper body. Christy in Texas
Oh my goodness, I LOVED this! I was in wildland firefighting and personal training was a HUGE part of my life. I've taken the last number of years off from regular workouts (HIIT was the 'go-to') but have been missing them and just starting to really bring them back. I am a sucker for using stumps, rocks and body weight in my routines but it's not the season for that right now. As an intro back to routines this hit the mark for me! It showed me where my strengths already are (THANK YOU muscle memory) and where I can take them! HANDSTANDS have eluded me and I am making it a mission to FINALLY do them! I totally dig your instruction, pace and variations and am a loyal participant - THANK YOU SO MUCH for this! You've helped me up the stoke to reclaim and enhance my strength and abilities! 🤟😎
I'm on day 5 of doing these exercises twice a day. My neck pain I have has gone. Shoulder and trap pain is gone along with my lower back pain. I feel longer in my torso. Loving this so much ❤
Hi Summer, I only found your videos recently and am excited to see more female representation in calisthenics! I’m a complete beginner so I’m excited to start with this video and maybe continue with your 8 week program if I can keep up with it :)
Summer thank you so much! You have totally convinced me to put the weights aside( for now) and learn to focus on calisthenics which makes sense that it needs to be mastered as a part of really being strong and mobile. Super grateful I found your channel. ❤
I use to do Calisthenics for few years but left it due to illness but I am going to start again will buy your beginer program. I am 56 now and want to be strong when I will enter in my 60's.
Very inspiring channel! 💯 I started calisthenics in November last year after doing the 100 push-ups a day for 30 days challenge. I’ve been hooked ever since and it has changed my life and I can keep this going my whole life unlike heavy weight training. Highly recommend sticking at the basic movements and just do more reps. It’s also better for your joints too. Here’s my current workout plan that I’ve tried a few but I think this is my final. Well for now 😂 Upper Pull-ups Push-ups Dips Shoulder press Hanging leg raises Lower Squats Romanian deadlift Split squat or pistol squats Calves raises Hanging leg raises I do upper and lower body splits as full body was getting harder as my reps went up. I do this like 4 times a week along with running once or twice a week. But take longer rests if my body needs it. My reps go between 50, 100 or 200. Lower reps for pull-ups than push-ups. Higher reps for legs unless I decide to use heavier weights I do 50 reps. I usually do 5 reps x10 sets for pull-ups and 10 reps x10 or x20 sets for push-ups and shoulder press and legs. This is such a great way to build muscle and lose weight and feel super energetic. Definitely worth trying this for 1 or 2 months if you are looking to get in great shape with little equipment, you can do this at a park with a resistance band and a tree or at a gym with dumbbells and pull-up bar. Keep it simple to keep it consistent 🔥
Actually had to try even the first one like,,, 5 times until I found the correct form as you noted *"quality before quantity"* and when I found it, I started to cry. I'm glad I can do these home (and they are actually beginner friendly) bc I have so many traumas in my body that my whole nervous system makes me almost cry (dissociate) in the gym, that I stopped.
This was an awesome workout! I do a lot of strength training, mainly with dumbbells, and I enjoyed how accessible this workout is and that I can work it into my upper body fitness routine. thank you so very much for this workout!
Thanks for suggesting this beginenr calisthenics! I am 6 months postpartum and trying to get back in shape, this is my first time ! Loving it so far and feeling stronger!
I love this workout ! I have been doing it consistently for a few months now and can really see the difference especially in my arm strength!! Thanks so much for the amazing content ! :)
this routine makes me so excited because i struggle to maintain a routine (adhd makes me set very unrealistic targets for myself and i go to hard too quick) but this makes it seem so possible!! my goal is to be able to do a push up :))
It was my first calisthenics workout and totally loved it!!!! Honestly, I was feeling a bit lost seeing all those calisthenic exercises without knowing where to start. However, your video was very explanatory and gentle for beginners. I will definitely work on more with your guidance:)
I just got a herniated disc in the chest area of the spine and was looking at ways to strengthen my back before I come back to pull ups. That looks perfect, thank you :)
Coming into this workout I thought oh this will be easy it can’t be that hard.. it was hard in such a good way it felt great to push my body past what I have been. It’s a great way to get your blood moving and it’s not super complex but it’s super effective. Thank you for making this video I look forward to following along with some of your other videos. Much love and thanks xoxo 🌈✨🫶🏽
Hey I don't know if you'll ever see this but thank you so much. I have been trying to start exercising for years now and have been dealing with so much stuff that has kept me from doing it but this workout was manageable and I made it at least one day ehich is better than yesterday. I forget to celebrate the accomplishments instead of beating myself up for not doing more. Thank you so so much for telling me to celebrate this win.
Great video. It's nice to see proper instructions about positioning, control and posture. I'm teaching medical health and don't usually see that in instructions like that. I will recommend you :) cheers
Thanks for this work out. I suffer from shoulder and neck pain and need to strengthen my back and shoulders. I think this is going to be just what I need. I love real-time work outs and, despite the fact these exercises must be super simple for you, you are not at all patronising considering some of us might find them challenging. 🙂
Thank you. I’ve been so scared to try calisthenics this is truely beginner and doesn’t feel impossible. I look forward to doing this with my Pilates and weights
I`m getting back to my calistenics training after a while, and it`s nice to see a good beginner training like this. Really helpful, good video. But I prefere to do it outdoors, and with all the winter is coming, I don`t know, Summer! Cheers! ✌️😄
Thanks for this! Been weight lifting for a bit but really wanting to do more calisthenics. I didn’t know if this would be too easy or too hard but it was just right. I’ll be back!
I followed along the first time and felt a bit disappointed that the scapular exercises didnt feel right. But the second time through my body was warmed up and i felt myself squeeze tighter and actually felt my muscles engage. Awesome feeling waking up muscles and testing their strength. Arms are shaking now, very proud of myself.
I cant believe I did it twice! But I need to stick to this video until I can do the right form of all these workout and master it then I can move to other videos 🎉❤ Thank you so much!
Just found your channel - Wow, you’re an excellent instructor (and very inspiring - your level of control, strength, and flexibility is incredible). This is exactly what I was looking for. THANK YOU!🙏🙏🙏

Hey, thanks for the quality work you’re putting out ❤️! I definitely feel stronger after this ! However, I do have a question. Does this count as a full body workout ? Or do I have to add a lower body workout (as this one seems to be more upper body focused) ? One of my goals is to build a balanced physique (and my upper body is already too broad for my liking).
I definitely learned something about my body doing this. It looks like not much is going on here oh but my body begs to differ 😅 thanks so much for this pls make more I would love a beginner friendly playlist of these ❤
I was skeptical at first but I literally done this once today for the first time and my arms are already more toned than they were before i started. I definitely need to work on distribution of weight between my left and right arms but i can feel progress for sure.
Loved that there's someone that understands what beginner means. I'm in great shape for 56, and yet, I'm prob only beginner level. So that means that all my friends who don't workout and can't do things like I can would be considered what? Isn't beginner supposed to mean them? Subscribed and checking out other videos
Thank you babe for putting this together! I feel like I’ve grown my fitness in incorrect postures and realy value slow signed strength to healthily get where I want. This was great!
What a great workout! Could we be doing 3 sets of this routine. I’m going to do it. Loved, loved, loved this routine. I’m going to be doing it several times in a week. Thank you so much ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
New subbie! You are amazing, and while you look amazing this video isn’t sexualized at all. Which is SO nice! I gotta build back from surgery and injuries. I think you’re my girl! Gonna try and follow your workouts. I really appreciate your modifications and your explaining how to do.
Day 1 excited and ready to start and the very 1st one is a no. I don't have vertebraes c1 or c2, my neck can't support my head. Lol. Back to the drawing board
I loved this! I did this 2 days ago, and now I have pain in my right scapula. Like really bad. What did I do wrong? I tried to do exactly as the video❤❤
I like your content a lot, I did your core exercises and I really liked it, do you have tips for the first pull up I have been working on this for 6 months and there is progress but I still can't do one
Hey! I actually have a video on how I got my pull up: ruclips.net/video/WXUXO_pZ124/видео.html I would recommend doing some causal pull-ups every day (referred to as the grease the groove method). Then have two pull dedicated training days a week to strengthen your pulling muscles. If that is not possible then just add in 10 minutes of pull training into your current workout split.
Awesome Awesome AWESOME!!!!!! Love this so much more than some of my body-building weight workouts for competing!!!!! Should I be doing calisthenics everyday? OR add to my workouts using weights & my boxing regimen also? Please Advise, Thanks, Sasha Rene’e

Love your positivity! Great workout for a beginner like me.
I'm going to follow along with this video everyday until I master it!!!! 💪🏿❤️
I really enjoy the way you explain the exercises. Also the Plant You cook book in the background 🙌🏻
The flow while she present is so smooth...
Hi
Even I started a RUclips channel as I got motivated from you
I loved this! I did this 2 days ago, and now I have pain in my right scapula. Like really bad. What did I do wrong? I tried to do exactly as the video❤❤
This was tough but such a good workout! Thank you for the challenge
I fucking love you this what i needed now i am gonna become stronger because of your workouts and become a champ and the best fighter
This is a great beginner primer! Perfect for am exercise. Thank you!
By the end of June I want to be able to easily to some pushups and hold my handstands. This is day 1!
We are starting our journeys around the same time. I hope we get it right
@@tsibolaura how is going?
@@oliwia8285heyyy seeing this a month late but were you able to see improvements?
How’d it go???
I like your content a lot, I did your core exercises and I really liked it, do you have tips for the first pull up I have been working on this for 6 months and there is progress but I still can't do one
Hey! I actually have a video on how I got my pull up: ruclips.net/video/WXUXO_pZ124/видео.html
I would recommend doing some causal pull-ups every day (referred to as the grease the groove method). Then have two pull dedicated training days a week to strengthen your pulling muscles. If that is not possible then just add in 10 minutes of pull training into your current workout split.
This is so great thank you! I really needed a beginner workout. It's perfect.
So glad you liked it! Thank you for trying it out!
Awesome Awesome AWESOME!!!!!!
Love this so much more than some of my body-building weight workouts for competing!!!!!
Should I be doing calisthenics everyday? OR add to my workouts using weights & my boxing regimen also?
Please Advise,
Thanks,
Sasha Rene’e
