Thanks for the video, I've just bought a m-lock today so it's great timing. !!
This is a great video! Love the time you are taking to explain things! Well be referring back to this many times, thank you for making this!
Thank you Taylor, about to attack the wiring on my bike as well and this helped heaps!
So glad to see another video from you. Please keep them coming. Even little 2 minute updates in the raw world work well. We just like to know what’s going on. Again, thanks for you time it takes to produce these videos!!!!
Couldn't agree with you more dude!
More to come!
I tried to do this with my old Yamaha 650 in the 70s, wish I had the advantage of the Munit then, it was a nightmare but eventually I pared the incredible amount of wire bundles down to 16 front to back. They had power and grounds for every light on that thing!
Great video I'm also about to wire up a bike myself and I have to say the triumph you're building looks good 👍
Greetings from New Zealand
Excited to see this man! I’ve been wanting to get some Attos for my metric cruiser.
How sweet is this ride. The owner will be ecstatic.
I have been using a 4 cell antigravity battery on my 2006 Triumph America for the last 2 years. great batteries.
M-unit behind the headlight. Genius!!
Bike is looking sharp man 👌🏼 great job as always Taylor. Happy to see you back at it again bud.
Appreciate it!
Nice job, well done! Looking forward to the reveal of your new rare bike - the teaser worked :-D
Coming soon!
Very nice detailed video! Learning a lot from them! Going to start a first full Honda CB500 built very soon!
Good luck!
Motogadget stuff is great, a bit expensive but well worth the money.
The M-Unit not need to be reprogrammed if the battery gets flat or even if you remove the battery as I did many times without reprogramming the M-Unit as you stated down the comments.
Hard tails with ape hangers are not my test but I guess the owner loves it, nice work with the electronics 👍🏻
*taste
Great channel, I learn a lot. Thanks from Sweden 👌🙏
Thanks for watching!
Nice project, love the video and thank you for the inspiration I'm working on a Xs 360 c Yamaha
Thanks, good luck with your project.
Awesome, new vid!!
Very nice video and lots of good info!!
Glad you liked it!
Excellent Presentation.
Thank you kindly!
Hey man.. thx for your Vid.. love it, and missed it/you... :-)
Guessing on what bike you got! A 1950 Dominator Model 7... Best bike I have :-)
We installed the m unit on my 1970 Honda cb350. Turned it on and nothing worked. We will revisit your original m unit install on Thursday and go over it one wire at a time
The technology you used here very impressive. Ty
Hi David, do you know that is a “negative” installation?, only ground signals goes in to the “in” side of the unit and only one (+) for “AUX IN”, this is for my old (M-Unit V2) I am not very familiar with the “Blue”
@@carlosgooglemaps94 Yes, We removed the M button and hooked directly to the m unit and all worked fine....Now we have a new issue with diode lighting both sides for turn signal indicator on Tachometer. Only the left side works and we have fiddled with it for numerous changes to no effect....any ideas here???? TY
keep up the good work
Will do! Thanks
My goodness, that is one "SEXY" trumpet🇬🇧👏👍❤️
YAAAAAAY! New video 😁😁😁
@ClassicOctane how did you install or run the handlebar wires? Did you double up on heatshrink tubing?
How did you run the wire for the m lock
Awesome build man in the process of building my 81 cb750 an I really appreciate the detail of your vids man thanks for taking the time to put these out here for us
I noticed that rear Tyre is pretty close to the rear Mudguard hope it dont catch.
I do like these M-Unit fitting very neat Taylor.

Long time - no see
Great video. Very few showing the motogadget m.unit on a kickstart only bike. Since you are using 4 switches only (without a start switch) I am wondering if you managed to pair the motogadget with the m.ride app and use the Keyless-Go feature. Intsructions I find for using it require the use of a start switch to swith the m.unit one, start the bike, switch off the bike and then switch of the m.unit. I installing it on a kickstart only 79 Triumph T140V and any advice would be greatly appreciated
Great video mate! Does those handlebar switches only work with a M-Unit or can you install them regardless?
These will only work with an M-unit because they are all momentary switches.
Het Taylor. Does the kill switch take the ignition to?
If you kill the bike with the switch on the handle bars, do you have to tap the key to turn off the electrical?
@ClassicOctane - Hey dude! Quick question, did/do you use a mosfet reg/rec on this bike for the 4cell antigrav battery? I'm looking at a very similar setup for my 64' triumph (m unit, 4cell antigrav batt) but read the antigrav batteries require mosfet regs to not get damaged?
When are you making videos on the KLR? I know others & myself are looking forward to those videos as well!!!!
Have some patience. Pay attention to what this video is about and enjoy it, this channel isnt about you!
@@backyardbraaapn1017 he has already moved on to his BMW NOW!!!
Hey could you tell me where you plugged the power for the motoscope? Was it post relay? I'm having trouble. It won't turn off when the battery is connected
for the m-lock i would really like it for my suzuki, do you know if it's pointless because i have a helmet lock, my gas cap needs a key and my steering lock, no hope for me?
Those bars! On a triumph!! NOOOO!!!
I know... right! well Guess the owner likes it so!...
I have the same on my 77 xs650. I've always liked them. Regular Z Bars might look more correct though.
@@davidvaughn7778 each to their own taste I guess, that's the joy of motorcycle customisation
Out of interest could you mount the dash into a billet clamp bracket to replace the existing bar clamps?
Yes, a few companies even make new triple clamps with a spot already machined in to mount the motoscope mini.
Where did you route the m-lock sensor from the top of the tank?
Yes. It's killing me not knowing how he did this.
ive got a 73 t140 that need restoring...
I thought the Mo-Unit requires physical grounding via the two GND lugs? How are you able to use it "floating" inside the headlamp enclosure?
*M-unit
Wish i could hire yah to wire my yamaha virago vx750
Does the M unit have a battery back up, or does the system need re programming if the battery goes flat, sir
The m-unit needs to be reprogramed but the m-lock doesn't.
Not need to be reprogrammed the M-Unit “keeps” the set up you input, when remove the battery from the bike always disconnect the (+) first, when installing the battery back connect the (-) first
@@carlosgooglemaps94 thank you, sir, I was taught to remove (-) negative first and install (-)negative last to reduce the chance of grounding the tool :)
@@geoffreyjones2000 keep in mind that with the m-unit the installation has to be negative (-) so the (-) pole of the battery goes hooked up to the bike frame (ground)
is the key sensor wire running through the gas tank?
Yes, there is a factory hole through the tank in the center for the mounting stud.
I was confused by setting up the wheel diameter... Does it recommend the diameter that the sensor needs to be fitted to get an accurate reading? Surely it would need to know the diameter of where the magnet is fitted in reference to the wheel size too?
The magnet can be placed anywhere on the wheel. No matter where it's placed relative to the center of the wheel the outside circumference of the tire still only makes one full rotation for ever time the magnet passes the sensor.
Think of it as a pizza with eight slices. If you put that magnet in the center of pizza (slice 1) and turn that pizza in a circle , the crust of slice 1 will travel the same distance as the magnet in center. Hope that helps visualize your question
I understand your theory but it only asks for the wheel diameter as a reference, doesn't ask where the magnet has been placed, so that magnet reference could be any amount of time between the smaller inner diameter by the spindle or the longer time being placed on the outer diameter of the wheel....
The magnet was set on the inner diameter of the wheel by the spindle.... That bearing or hub could be the same diameter on any sized wheel....
I hope I'm making sense 🙈 I just thought the magnet would need to be placed on the outer diameter of the wheel so the unit can work out the time between revolutions by the measurement of the wheel
Ignore me.... I'm sure it'll be fine and I'm just thinking about it too much 😂😂
@@bazw1685
It asks for the outside circumference of the tyre to be input not the diameter of the sensor which is irrelevant. The tyres circumference is 2008mm.
The magnet tells the sensor when one revolution of the wheel has been completed and then the computer then knows that 2008mm has been travelled.
It doesn't mattet how far away the sensor/magnet is away from the centre of the wheel because each revolution of the wheel will still only send one pulse to the computer.
Where did you run the wire for the RFID puck under the Triumph logo?
There is a through hole where a mounting stud comes up so you can bolt down the tank. I drilled a small hole through the rubber isolator that goes around that stud and ran the wire through that.
Thats the original ignition hole isn't it.
are those M units compatible with positive ground bikes?
I convert them to negative ground.
@@ClassicOctane i see, hey i have an idea for a video, maybe a video on converting postive grounds bikes to neg ground :). not sure if thats the way i wanna go personaly, but might be a good video? i inherited my dads BSA Hardtail chopper, i wanna leave it vintage as is. :)

Taylors time: next week = next month
If we’re lucky
Those handle bars look terrible on this bike.
Its spelt fugly
I myself have this motorcycle
Now lost interest in your channel. I followed you from the early vids, but I personally like a continuous vid feed even if it's just a check in.
Best of luck 👍
Lol what a fucking world these days fuck we got hard times coming at this rate everyone has something to whine about but never thankfull for what they got ehhhhhhhhh
