  • Part one of wiring the Triumph. I'm really loving the Motogadget M-Unit so far. Plus a bonus look at my new car. I will be doing a full project intro video soon.

    The bike is looking cool man. I think you should include the words "M-Unit" in the title. It will help when people search for it. Your video on how to wire a LED tail light really helped me a lot recently when I was installing a similar light on my new build.

    • @ClassicOctane
      @ClassicOctane  7 лет назад +1

      Done! Good thinking. I'm also going to put together an M-unit specific video in the next day or two to show people the basics of how they work.

    @Mrhogbeef 7 лет назад +1

    Its really coming along, as far as the tail light, have you thought about mounting it off the back of the fender just above the wheel? You would probably have to make some sort of mount for it, but having it centered would be nice. Another thought would be to find a small enough light and cut the bell in half lengthwise, and attach it flat side down near the edge of the fender.

  • @Roadhouse_moto

    On the fender does kinda ruin the sweeping lines of the bike but at the same time fits it...if that makes sense. All in all great work man

    If you want to have an idea what the tail like looks like high on the rear, take a look at Yamaha’s XSR900. I personally think it looks good there, and is very visible which is the whole point.

    When you get your state inspection, they will check for a rear brake light switch. I live in Tyler Texas and have been in the motorcycle biz for the past 20 years.

    • @ClassicOctane
      @ClassicOctane  4 года назад

      It’s passed inspection two years now without an issue. I just got my KZ750 inspection and all they checked was headlight, taillight, and horn. I guess some people are more strict than others.

    If you could, I'd recess the bell down into the fender a bit, or chop it just a little bit so it's in/around the fender instead of just sitting on top... Hard to explain but I think you'll get what I'm saying.

    '67 firebird is my bucket list car. i've had a 69 amc javelin, 70 dodge challenger rt, 71 ford torino gt, 72 chevy nova, 69 chevy el camino, 73 chevelle, and a 74 dodge demon. had, and sold. but never a firebird. now they are worth as much as my house. had the opportunity in the 90's, but bought a 69 triumph instead. yes, i'm a dumbass.

    Many speculated it was a 69 Camaro. Cool ride. My bucket list car is a 67 or 68 RS. I know the 69 is the most desired muscle car but I like the more "pony" curves on the earlier models. Question. Many restomods use the small bullet turn indicators. The do look cool. Aesthetics aside, one of the biggest issues in motorcycle safety is people don't see us. Any real concerns with that? Or is the brightness of the newer LCD bulbs effectively creating just as large of a "light" image?

    • @ClassicOctane
      @ClassicOctane  7 лет назад +1

      With the LEDs they are plenty bright in my opinion. My first car was a '67 RS.

  • @jonivanart
    @jonivanart 6 лет назад

    I like the taillight idea but not for that bike. I think no matter where you put it it will be too much. I personally think using the turn signal style lights you have as brake lights will match better with what you're already using on the bike....

    • @ClassicOctane
      @ClassicOctane  6 лет назад +1

      I agree. I just ordered some tail/brake/turn combo lights to replace the ones that are on the bike now. It should look pretty clean.
