really smart to combine the 4D with the electric bike / slypod, lots of possibilities for lower budget shoots that looks way more expensive
for real! you wouldnt need a crane or expensive dolly setup to get some really sick shots

This thing may look weird, but the amount of creative setups you can do with this camera is amazing.
PL mount adapter? Where do I apply for life-crippling credit? I’ve been gear wanking to the Sony Venice with the Rialto adapter, but this is almost within purchasing range.
Seriously though! The ronin 4d has been a dream for me! Its pretty much everything I have desired in a camera eith majior ease of use
I like the Venice/Rialto approach. Very smart from DJI. I hope they keep this camera and keep on incrementally make it better.

Man, you are in a whole era, aura, realm, whatever, by your self! No one else can take all this pro/technical stuff and make it look so cool and do-able, as you manage to do. I wanted to do what you are doing for a living back in 1984, and chose another path because I could never have seen all this tech and the growth of technology & not just Photography.
The way you actually showed the parts on the scale along with their positive & negative sides, from a physically visual perspective.......wow....... In my day, I would never have imagined I could afford these kinds of upgrades, or how tech would soar, but you make me feel like I could just go grab it at Walmart and learn it.

I think you two should think about doing some sort of public seminars for very young and aspiring.... to be able to come and touch, hear about, explore these devices and all that they encompass. There was a place called SciTrek in GA, when my kids were young, that was sort of a museum of science... you are like a traveling museum with comedy to boot! Thank you for all your efforts!

I really love this functionality and the versaatility is awesome. Lowers the barrier to entry, but sitll a major investment for a full set up for soleprops.

There is the Osmo+, Osmo Pro and DJI Osmo X5R RAW. They are better than the pocket 2, but they are discontinued.
When this first came out I thought it was a total gimmick, but now that you've shown its capabilities and as long as the image quality and color science is world class I can see many ways this could be a must have piece of kit. Thanks.

Was looking at the Sony FX6 because of the low light performance and auto ND filter, but now I’m turn. The 4 axis gimbal and the other features you showed have me at a fork in the road.

Thing is a Nice review, I admit dji is pushing boundaries to offer creatives the right tools that will enable them deliver without limits this Dji Rinin 4D Flex makes work so easy and fun
It's so crazy how fast and far camera tech has come. I was watching a movie from the 90s the other day and I was astounded at the quality... not that it was bad per se, but I genuinely think my phone has a higher image quality. Now we have things like this DJI camera which if you could somehow show to someone in the early 2000's would absolutely blown their minds. This camera can probably replicate what would have taken an entire grip truck and team to do back then... while also having better image quality.
Keep in mind with these old movies that they may have had budget constraints and used cheaper/worse film stock. There's also how the movie was scanned to digital and then what the streaming distributor chose to do with the file. So many ways for movies, film or digital, to look different than necessary!

I hate to use this terminology but this actually is pretty game changing for indie film makers and small crews. Basically and Arri Trinity on a micro budget as well as about 10 other things. Really cool!

many predicted the ronin to be abandoned in 2023, so it is good to see it flurish.

I am so happy DJI has made the decision to embrace and commit to the further development of the Ronin 4D. Now, with the option to have ProRes RAW back on the Ronin 4D, the camera will get new a life in rentals for more commercial Cinema feature films. The heavily increased overall flexibility of the new detachable umbilical head setup pushes the 4D even further in its usefulness. Mr. Potato Jet Man, could you please give us a detailed review of the Ronan 4D with the new 8K resolution sensor please ?

Ronin 4d mini, now that would be great. Also if DJI would make a descend fullframe mirrorless body a la fx3. If they to that right they got there sticky fingers in a lot of pots.
That's really interesting. I was thinking about the ARRI Alexa M recently, and now DJI creates a flex version of Ronin 4D. I'd be curious if people actually use this for client work.

The best way to learn how to use a gearhead is to tape a laser pointer on top and practice with that by the time you’re able to-and eight or infinity sign you more than halfway there.

Can or could yout try the new samyang V-AF lenses on the 4d? I had a chance, when it came out, but ronin didn't support it yet. I don't know, maybe you have opportunities to try it :)
You’re right. And $1500 - $2500 premounted gimbal cam would be verrrrrry interesting 🧐
If you would commit to using this on a commercial project and just forget all the other stuff you have to work with, it seems this crazy rig would be just fine and really helpful once you got the hang of all the functions. The hard part is getting past what you are already comfortable using.
That's what wey are doing thake the 4D and forget about video assist guys, Dolly operators, and second camera assistants. Just the camera and the crazy thing is that it works and is fun to use.

I do this with my old phantom 4 I use the controller as there reciver and screen and the phantom without propellers and gimble to track fallow and control it from the controller same thing just on a drone without propellers
I think we will still see more great things from DJI in the pro and prosumer camera markets. I hope they can solve their problem with the RED patents!
I was thinking about getting a Sony FX6 for my business but screw it, this is way more useful and more capable then then that and the price isn’t that far off and when you add lenses and wireless transmitters and a gimbal it blows it out of the park. I don’t need much of a cinema camera as I do a versatile do it all camera and this is perfect for that. I was doubting it before but with this new cable and backpack and specially that 17-28 zoom it’s literally my dream camera don I couldn’t be more expected to order one soon 😂

Maybe this was covered somewhere and I missed it but are you able to also control the camera in flex mode using the gyro setting like on the RS3 Pro? Or do you need to use the joystick?
