This setup is hands down my favorite RUclips setup of all time. Incredible job putting it together!
dude seriously. This is so nice, but also feels incredibly 'warm'
It's sick
It is far from being sufficient. Are they global shutter or rolling shutter? And where is the rolling shutter test? Even a smartphone has a global shutter.
Despite how many times a person can answer the question "what camera should I by?" with videos and articles, the next question you will receive is always "yes, but what camera should I by?" 😂
R5Mark2 obviously!
@@brightsondavid547it’s a simple grammar mistake not a dick, don’t take it so hard
@Brightson David bye
right
Mentioning the old vids and the M50 throws me back to the super built-out m50 video ya'll made putting on the angies, nd, matte box, on a Movi with video feed , fiz control, and an Easy Rig. Really changed how I looked at the m50 and similar affordable options. One of my favorite vids of yours
Got overwhelmed with the tons of camera technicalities you've explained here but I definitely enjoyed watching it as I absorb all the information to help me decide on which camera to get next. Also I'm amazed on your studio setup especially that window where you can change it to any scenery you want which was so cool! Keep up the good work Gene! :)
My wallet groans in pain every time Potato Jet uploads 😭
🤣👏💯
😂 same!
Big Us . How rich is potato 😬😬
Ha ha ha
All I had to read to close the video lmfao
No way, what a small world! I thought I recognized you in the thumbnail. I remember way back in like 2007 you worked with Mikayla for her graduation and I though you had phenomenal talent. She spoke highly of you, and I'm glad to see your channel is getting the views and respect you deserve, brother!
I'm a RUclips tutorial addict and you continually put out some of the best stuff for what I need. Thanks Potato Jet!
I watched your videos 4 years ago for my first filming camera. Right as I'm about to sell that first cam for an upgrade, you released this video. Maybe it's truly a sign
I love the portability of my iPhone on my gimbal, I’ve been working with that for years and recently with the DJI Mic attached, but it’s been time to upgrade the quality of my images. So this weekend I finally got the FX30 with a 15mm f1.4 prime lens! Can’t wait to start using this setup; it’ll still be portable!
I had been saving for a new M1 Mac Studio but later decided upgrading to better image quality is more important right now.
build a pc for 1/3 the cost and do both
@@zentai5076i would say that the mac studio or m2 mac mini is a better option for the money if all you are using it for is video editing... if you want to game then build a pc but apples vertically integrated processors are powerful and more reliable now
Considering your working with footage from an iPhone, If the main reason your getting a Mac Studio is editing that content then you probably be pretty well off with an m2 mini, of course I have no doubt you've done your research and know what best for you.
@@zentai5076 not a budget pc.
That was one of the most seamless and creative ways to integrate a sponsor into the video, huge props!
The new setup lookin really clean my guy!!
This video is the perfect crash course on modern cameras... when I first got into photography I was shocked to learn good lenses could easily cost 3x the price of your camera body! I sold all my equipment since I no longer shoot weddings and iPhone Pro is more than good enough for me these days!
Shoot a wedding on an iPhone and then just give it to them, they can swipe on their anniv
@@dudedavid522 lol
Sigma pretty much already achieved almost perfect clinical clean image quality, Zeiss which costs loads of money have rather imperfect image quality hence why people like using them.
@@jimthrowaway
Well there reason why Zeiss uses as few lens elements as possible, its not to make perfect images, its to get a "look"
Probably the best RUclips set example so far. I love how the lighting the room changes with background image. Is that automatic or do you adjust those colors manually? Either way it's dope.
Bro is putting on a masterclass in cameras! It's awesome how much work you put into each upload
Most comprehensive advice I have ever seen when it comes to cinematic video cameras. Well done.
I think I can say, I haven't watched a video as information packed as this one, ever. Great video!
One of your best videos. Jam-packed with info. Had to pause a couple of times to take it all in!
The editor never rests: plural of camera is cameras, not camera's. Okay, long-time subscriber; your gear list was useful today, looking for a 32-bit float point recorder, will likely choose the Zoom F3 'cause I'm old and barely sentient and can forget to press buttons.
Ah maaaate, Im currently considering getting a new camera and the range and abilities of current cameras as well as price ranges is mind boggling. This video does a nice job of breaking some of it down. Helped me out a lot! Thanks!
Interesting point about dual native ISO and the A7IV being at the lower number for more practical use cases. I don't have access to that level of gear, but good to know!
Pre-ordered the Lumix S5II X. Can't wait
This is the best video thus far on setting up. I can’t wait to level up my set. It would be nice to find a set up for someone who’s nomadic. I’m constantly traveling so it would be nice to have something simple yet powerful. Thank you!
My Man kills it… Barely into it and he’s laying out various filmmakers layers of needs like a champ!
As someone who just got my first mirrorless, this was an impressive crash course. Having been a Nikon DSLR user for years - I finally settled on the Sony A7IV - Very excited - but you are right about their menu system - def gonna take me a little bit to get used to it.
Very well presented. So much energy and positivity!
The best, most balanced camera overview I have seen, great, thanks
Just a reminder you basically doubled your subscribers in the last year. Once you break the 1M mark (very soon) you're likely to double that within a year. [Gotta love that algorithm]
I remember watching you a long time back; impressed then, impressed now. Keep it up and really appreciate your down to earth delivery.
I just can't stop watching your vids because you speak so fast than you grab all my attention ;))) professional, and no water at all
I'd get Panasonic S5 II with Atlas Mercury lenses, 32bit audio recorder with MKH416. Great starter package
Bro! This studio setup is AMAZING!
amazing outcomes men! this is the final video to choose a camera in 2023. You say it all. the setup is dope and better when you put all that at use 😅 awesome weight change! keep the great work! slim potato jet
OMG Marc!!! 🔥🔥🔥📸📸📸 this turned out so amazing. Wonderful to watch and your cinematography and photography throughout are simply gorgeous. Music pinpointed with photo transitions are also perfectly done.
Your videos have inspired me to build out a camera rig for my cannon 80D which I use to film videos for my robotics club, thanks for the great video.
I think a Fujifilm X-T4 is a great pick too, at around 1,200 used. 4k60 Internal, HD240 for super slow mo (although the 120 looks a little better) 4:2:2 external, IBIS, a good selection of beautiful prime lenses, great color science, and also great at taking photos with beautiful JPegs. Autofocus isn't excellent, but people that REALLY want to become film makers should learn to manual focusing anyways, unless you're just trying to shoot weddings or certain unplanned events where it's hard to dial in focus. In those cases I think auto focus is more important.
X-H2S
@@ericcoen8894 well, that’s 1,000 more. At that price point I’d probably move over to a S5II or something else full frame. This is if I was starting out fresh. I’m already invested in Fuji and i enjoy it, so it I’m gonna upgrade I’ll get the XH2S.
@@Kevodabomb_Media all Fujifilm cameras are APS-C except GFX medium format series. X-H2S is 8K with 14bit adc, 10bit ProRes internal recording
@@ericcoen8894 H2 is 8K. H2S is 6.2K in open gate. The H2S is a fantastic camera that checks a lot of boxes!
I'M OBSESSEDDDDDD with your NEW SET and this sponsorship is PERFECT FORRRRRRR YOU and this set!!!! BRILLIANT!!!!
your new setup is GORGEOUS 😍
Love your new studio set up!!
Thank u 😊 will have to watch it a few more times to absorb before going to buy ..
Great, great video! 👏🏻👊🏻
What a fantastic outpouring of knowledge. Thanks for sharing all that. I'm now set on ZV-E10 and Sigma 30mm F1.4 for purely studio work and that sweet, sweet auto-focus.
Gene..your new set is very very cool! Great way to quickly switch up the vibe when you need some new inspo on set. Also dad bod on point. You are looking great man!
I really love your youtube set up
i'm lovin the set!
Always enjoy these reviews from you very great insight
The video subject we all want to know, answered in the correct manner. Nice work!
This set is incredible!
Great vid, congrats on the fitness journey! Set looks dope!
Love you man, really enjoy your channel
thanks for your work on this; super helpful
Great job on the set - looks amazing!
always dropping some gems, the potato jet knowledge well.
Very, very informative with a great natural flow of knowledge. Excellent work! I totally thought that was a window. Definitely relating to the beer and doing the same thing losing some pounds eating better. You killed this video man! Aloha from Maui.
I started with Canon 80D, it was the perfect video and photo camera for me to start with and I would highly recommend that to someone who is beginner.
i just see different mood for your window, very cool potato!
what a great video. I am amazed at how much useful information you can pack into a video, this didn't even feel like 25 minutes of time.
i love your videos man. editing is on point with quality, voice, demonstration and all. i want to get into film and editing but fr fr i suck lol
Really love the X-H2S for video, it might be cropped sensor but love the image out of it and has a great range of formats and codecs. As well as 6k ProRes internally
Any camera above $1000 will do well.
What Gene didn't mention was STORY. A great story is so much more important than gear. 'Casablanca' was shot on 16mm black and white.
Casablanca was shot on 35mm. but yea point remains... story is king. a great story, coupled with amazing actors, and then third good audio.... the image can come fourth after that... haha. but honestly 35mm neg still rivals all these digital cams to this day. @@scottslotterbeck3796
I've been saying it for years, when it comes to a video POV of cameras, you are my go to guy, Photo POV is Jared Polin and for very techy stuff is Gerald Undone. Thanks for this video.
CONGRATS ON ALMOST ONE MILLLLLLL
Thank you brother for the helpful informations❤
I am new here and oh my god! I love your style!
love the new set! Hope to see more and more content!
Great job getting in shape man!
This guy is good..ge makes everything look so effortless
I liked the "original location" of your set. It was so clean and natural, I don't think long focal range you used there made it look worse. However the set is the best I ever seen from any angle
THAT BACKGROUND IS GORGEOUS
set looks amazing 💕
Dude diggin’ that background display!
Wow! Nice vlog, sir!!. Planning to buy some sorts of this. Glad I see your video. More of this, please!!😊
Yes
Thank you for talking about the Canon R8. I wasn’t aware it was already coming out. I was looking for a good mirrorless full-frame Canon camera and that suits me perfectly!
I'd like to put in a good word for the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II. It's a killer camera for photo and video. Sure, it's Micro Four Thirds and the video is only 8-bit, but the Cinema 4K footage is still impressive and detailed. Plus, you can get one used for under $600.
new setup is insane!
Thank you for your recommendations and comments. Cheers from Peru.
The last 4 seconds were wholesome bud. Well done 🤘🏻
This set looks awesome!
super detailed video! hopefully you also go through the best lenses for video in a next one!
Damn that is a lot of info. Thanks for sharing.
Super helpful video. Thx
Wow, definitely sending this to people who asks “which camera should I buy?”. Great video Gene!
This is a fantastic video and kudos to you Sir
Really good video, thank you!!
can't wait for you to hit 1 million subs, I've been thinking of my talking videos myself but I'm nervous and scared but you keep inspiring me
Love the belly shot at the end XD YOU GOT THIS!
Great summary video too - so many options!
its the "getting rid of it" that keeps me coming back for more! great Channel
Wow..just wow. That is an incredible setup and a mind-blowing video with tons of useful information. Thanks PJet. Kudos for the awesome video. Only thing I cannot unsee is your six pack. LOFL! 😂😜
You really put a lot of info in this little video💪👍
Love your videos!
awesome video. thanx!
GREAT VIDEO BRO!
BMPCC 6K Pro, no question asked. Unless you need photos.
Super helpful!
best video of 2023!! change my mind.
Great transition to story blocks!
Yes, give it a shot to the Fujifilm X-H2S 😎👍📸
Hahaha, “be prepared to be broke”. Amen!
And mate, your new set with those screens is epic!!! Congrats 👏🏼
Holy cow, thats a lot of info! good job mentioning pretty much everything there is to consider.. the only correction i would make, when you were talking about apertures you meant to say toneh
Such a great video
LMAO the ending!!! Dude I loved the video. Just subscribed. I will indulge now when I have the time :)
Great video, nice job on the studio, amazing. Also, on cameras, you gave us some food for thought for sure. I think I only saw you come up for air once, nice job 😂😂.
