Pleasure, old bean. It was a wonderful performance of a wonderful song. More please! Do give my best to Josh and, of course, the mad-as-a-hatter, wonderful, staggeringly talented and supremely beautiful Allison Y. Salut from France.
I'm blown away by every one of your interpretations ! I've been following you for quite some time now and just wanted to say that you're a complete artist, it's a pleasure to follow you on the networks, and I hope to see you on stage in Europe one of these days ! Thanks for sharing your music with us, and have a long and happy career !
The incredible beauty of this song, the simplicity of the arrangement and Carson’s sublime singing and guitar playing are making this performance easily the most captivating version of the song I’ve ever heard. Absolutely stunningly beautiful! 🎶🎵✨👏👏👏😀
I’m gonna say something controversial: I like your Bob Dylan covers A LOT more than the originals. You sing much better than he could and you never whine like he constantly did. Your style really lets the lyrics breathe. I’d love an entire album of your Dylan covers… (Carson’s Version) 😂 Of course, a full album of your originals as solo acoustic would be very welcome as well!
I can't say that I like them more, because the first ones were something like gold. But Carson refines them, makes something very polished out of a rough thing. And he has such an amazing feeling for the story, always. Great artist.
@@richhahn2443it was always hard for me to get into Dylan due to his singing, but because of Carson I’ve been able to go back to his songs with a newfound appreciation. Next challenge is convincing my friends…
Wonderful cover Carson! Thank you so much for going with the original New York lyrics. So much more heart and power compared the re-write released on BotT. More Blood, More Tracks deluxe is one of my favorite box sets. Always blows my mind to slip disc 1 into the player and hear him toss this out as the first song played in the entire sessions. It still brings me a chill...
I have listened to your rendition here over and over; I’ll be looking/listening to something and this will cross my mind and lead me back to your version; I don’t think I’ve been impressed like this in a long time - it says something about your talent and interpretation. Thank you so much!
That was an amazing rendition of this song. I always felt this was one of Dylan’s best but I think I focused even more on the melody and the lyrics with Carson singing it here. What a song……kind of sad but a little glimmer of light at the end. The group of musicians you are a part of are so sensitive and you have so much respect for the past and the giants of music. Any Mt Rushmore in music will have Bob Dylan up there. Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us and thank you for making me love this particular song even more than I already did. Keep singing and playing!!
Dylan's genius is that of other great musicians--his songs can be interpreted by others and still preserve their emotional power. How many Dylan covers have there been? More than 1500. Carson, who I never tire of listening to, and whose versatility is breathtaking, made this melancholy tune sound fresh and new.
Carson at his ultimate best. Just so great to listen to your intuitive vocal and guitar interpretation of this song. Just your fantastic voice, and your gentle acoustic is all you need. Thanks Carson.
Incredible, Carson! Your version has absolutely enchanted me since I heard it. I listened to the Bob Dylan performance you mentioned and I like yours more.
Very nice version, as I’ve come to expect from you! I’m fascinated by your open chords here as you play them differently than I thought they were played. Your version sounds perfect
Stunning. I think this is your best Dylan cover yet. About the guitar tuning, one thing you might look into if you want a deeper instrument voice available for a song/songs is the string gauge Ariel Posen uses for his 25.5" scale baritone guitars (.017-.064).
If you see her, say hello She might be in Tangier She left here last early spring Is livin' there, I hear Say for me that I'm all right Though things get kind of slow She might think that I've forgotten her Don't tell her it isn't so We had a falling-out Like lovers often will And to think of how she left that night It still brings me a chill And though our separation It pierced me to the heart She still lives inside of me We've never been apart If you get close to her Kiss her once for me I always have respected her For doin' what she did and gettin' free Oh, whatever makes her happy I won't stand in the way Though the bitter taste still lingers on From the night I tried to make her stay I see a lot of people As I make the rounds And I hear her name here and there As I go from town to town And I've never gotten used to it I've just learned to turn it off Either I'm too sensitive Or else I'm gettin' soft Sundown, yellow moon I replay the past I know every scene by heart They all went by so fast If she's passin' back this way I'm not that hard to find Tell her she can look me up If she's got the time
Fabulous. Perfectly judged. Perfectly played. Perfectly sung. And wonderfully moving. Talk about bitter-sweet.
Thank you so much!! That bittersweetness is all over Dylan’s Bootleg Series version; I’ve always been affected by it.
Pleasure, old bean. It was a wonderful performance of a wonderful song. More please! Do give my best to Josh and, of course, the mad-as-a-hatter, wonderful, staggeringly talented and supremely beautiful Allison Y. Salut from France.
I'm old enough that these Bob Dylan songs mark actual events in my life, and when Carson sings them it's a most painful beauty.
yep, me too - thanks Carson
Caron never disappoints. If you've not heard Carson's cover of Simple Twist of Fate you have a treat coming.
He even covered it twice, both are amazing!
It really is amazing❤
Still cry from that cover every now and then
Carson covers Dylan’s songs so beautifully. His singing fills me with so much emotion it makes me cry.
Good one Carson! Anyone who isn't subscribed....lets go! Lets get Carson a 100k plaque by the end of the year!
Had me at the opening notes. Beautiful. Thank you for sharing this with us. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas Carson!

One of my favourite songs from one of my favourite albums.
Which album is this song from? I hadn't heard it until Carson's beautiful rendition.

Blood on the tracks.
The last dylan masterpiece.
That'true. Take each one, all the songs.. and you will understand

I was thinking the same. Hopefully it would help introduce Dylan to a new generation. Just Carson and his guitar would be fine.
I can't say that I like them more, because the first ones were something like gold. But Carson refines them, makes something very polished out of a rough thing. And he has such an amazing feeling for the story, always. Great artist.
adding the controversy....Skylar maybe even better at Dylan covers
Oh wouldn’t that be a wonderful album.

Carson taking us all to school on how much can be conveyed with just one guitar and a voice. Brilliant.
Simply beautiful Carson.

YES! When Carson does some Bob's cover, it makes my day. Congratulations!
Your cover is the first time I have fully understood the lyrics. Bittersweet and better then the original. Kia Ora
Beautiful picking and singing, man! A nice few minutes to unwind to with a coffee.
Great stuff Carson. Another great listen
Carson, you've really got a brilliant insight into the songs of Dylan. You could take a one-man Dylan show on the road.
The resonance of your voice and the heartfelt way you sing…it’s on a whole nother level. You, sir, possess extraordinary talent.
Great Carson! I think I follow you for more than 8 years by now. Happy to see you keep uploading with the same passion as you did back then :)
Beautifully sang and beautifully played on the guitar.
Well done, my friend.🤩

Wow, not many people can pull that off and to do it better than the original is almost impossible and yet you did it, and you made it your own.
Wow !!! Just beautiful, Carson ! Goos bumps !!

Fully in love with all your BD renditions. It is pretty clear the respect and admiration Carson feels for him. Truly touched. Hugs from Spain.

Oh, wow. So moving, Carson. You never cease to impress. Got me to shed some very real tears of longing for a past love. Thanks for that.
Man you never disappoint. Beautiful! Thank you
Keep up the great work … love the way you sing!
Masterpiece. Bob Dylan poetry is beautiful even to a Brazilian. And what a singer!
recalling Glaser’s Dylan, camera positioned like that and your hair longish and brushed back

Normally listen to a Song by a ytbr once enjoy but them move on, but this one I keep returning. Special.
Wonderful
I have never heard this song. So lovely!
sooo good
Lovely, Carson.
The best thing about Bob Dylan songs is when someone else sings them.
same with Leonard Cohen
Well done Carson!
A very nice rendition - very sincere. :)
Thank You for blessing us.
Thank you for blessing our ears once again!

You can cover Dylan so brilliantly
Thank You Carson for sharing your awesome skills
As I said before for one of your Dylan's cover, it is even beter sang by you since we can appreciate the lyrics clearly! Great job!
Wonderful, just wonderful.

If you see her, say hello
She might be in Tangier
She left here last early spring
Is livin' there, I hear
Say for me that I'm all right
Though things get kind of slow
She might think that I've forgotten her
Don't tell her it isn't so
We had a falling-out
Like lovers often will
And to think of how she left that night
It still brings me a chill
And though our separation
It pierced me to the heart
She still lives inside of me
We've never been apart
If you get close to her
Kiss her once for me
I always have respected her
For doin' what she did and gettin' free
Oh, whatever makes her happy
I won't stand in the way
Though the bitter taste still lingers on
From the night I tried to make her stay
I see a lot of people
As I make the rounds
And I hear her name here and there
As I go from town to town
And I've never gotten used to it
I've just learned to turn it off
Either I'm too sensitive
Or else I'm gettin' soft
Sundown, yellow moon
I replay the past
I know every scene by heart
They all went by so fast
If she's passin' back this way
I'm not that hard to find
Tell her she can look me up
If she's got the time
