Kim Carnes is backing him up in the chorus, her gravelly voice works so well with his.
I was wondering who it was. She has the perfect growl to match Barnes.
OMG all these years I've wondered who who backing vocalist was!
@@FionaEm Yup.. THE Kim Carnes XD
I was 10 when this came out. It's still my favourite Jimmy Barnes song and I loved it more because Kim Carnes sang with him.
They should have done a duet together
God i love the look on your face when you listen to Jimmy give it his all.
It is awesome watching him give pleasure to others, we take him for granted as he is one of our greatest singers of all time and is revered by all.
But watching someone new light up and thoroughly enjoy his music and voice is something we all take great pride in and salute to Jimmy
I agree with you. He’s gotten to know Jimmy’s range we’ll by now. But he’s moved and appreciates it every time he hears the gravel. So cool to watch.
Definitely put a smile on my face seeing him getting into barnesy love it
Song after song at a concert, everybody singing every word. It doesn't get any better. It's my happy place. 👍😄🎵🎼🇦🇺❤️😆
I love your reaction videos. Especially on Australian music as it’s so underrated worldwide and I feel like videos like yours are spreading the music to a bigger much deserved audience
Just one rule when listening to Jimmy Barnes......... Play it LOUD!!!!!!!
A great living AUSTRALIAN ICON ... from Cold Chisel then solo...grew up listening to Jimmy Barnes and his music always takes me back 2 those days...so glad u luv him 2
My favourite Jimmy Barnes single.
This man has been the background to so much of my life that I can't hear a song without feeling happy and a little sad lol. Love JB and CC.
This is my jimmy barnes era....
Saw him 10 times back in the beginning of his solo journey
His songwriting and those behind his songs were brilliant, world class songs
This is so good. Best version ever! Another great songs are "Ride the night away", "Second Prize" and "Thickskinned". Great songs and vocally, OMG, out of the park. Oh and "Last Frontier ". This was so good. Thankyou. ✌👍🇦🇺
Agreed on all counts. Awesome songs from an awesome album. Then when his next album came out I was in rock heaven from the opening slide guitar of Driving Wheels through to the powerful ending of Walk On.
Absolutely my favourite Jimmy Barnes solo song. Have loved it ever since it came out in 1985!
LOVE your acknowledgement of talent...and your complete understanding of music...LOVE YOUR SHOW
Man what a great song. Seen Jimmy heaps of times as a solo artist and with Chisel. Legendary human...
Never get enough of Jimmy. Love this song. BTW did you know it's Farnseys birthday tomorrow..1st July
I did tell him about it, not sure he’ll do a reaction or not though 😝 x
@@michellebostock3134 he reacts to whatever people send him on PayPal or Patreon
What a voice what a song!!! Jimmy is fabulous 😃😃😃👏👏👏🌏🪐🌕🙏🌞🇦🇺🌺🦘🦋🦉🏡🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Mate, the thing I like most about watching your reactions is that I’m feeling exactly the same way. Makes me smile constantly, wanna just smash things sometimes. I’m just a frustrated singer wanna-be. Cheers 🍻
Here’s an interesting note…. In this film clip Jimmy has 3 female backing singers….BUT on the actual sound recording it’s actually U.S singer Kim Carnes that you can hear.
Jimmy Barnes is currently touring Australia performing is Soul Deep 30 year anniversary tour. Amazing show, fantastic performer and he is 66 years old.
I live in NZ at the moment and am going to see the Soul Deep 30 Anniversary shows in Dunedin and Christchurch. Can't wait :-)
My mum used to go to all Cold Chisel’s gigs in pubs around Sydney when they first got started. I grew up on Jimmy Barnes’ music. I love seeing how excited you get discovering some of my favourite songs
More classic Jimmy. He has an amazing catalogue.
Saw him live last week, still sounds amazing.
US really missed out on so many good artists from Australia. I don’t know why their songs never made it over their but like Air Supply really weren’t what Aussies would have been crazy about. A shame they never knew Bon Scott as lead singer in AC/DC he sang his heart out in every song and the words were clear but sang like it was his last time he would ever sing in every song so much grit and feeling.
This is the kind of song I can’t help but play as loud as I can
Don’t forget his version of Chain of Fools from Soul Deeper and In the Name of God, off the Living Loud album.
You’ve got so much more to see. 👍🏽🇨🇦
I'm so glad you found our Jimmy. You get it bro!
One of my absolute favourite songs. Happy you're reacting to this. One of my staple songs to sing on guitar
My absolute favourite Barnesy song!
This was the Jimmy that I first discovered back in the mid-80‘s. He‘d left Cold Chisel and released his first solo album, Bodyswerve, which is still my favourite Jimmy album. He then released the Working Class Man album and I was lucky enough to see him live just after the album release. Die To Be With You Tonight Has always been my favourite track from this album and still is to this day. Great choice for a reaction and I love how much you get into Jimmy and his voice!
This song takes me back, I was an Aussie teenager in the 80”s , this song would be played over and over on my cassette player!
Those poor cassettes got a work out back in the day!
😂😂yep you'd make a back up of the cassettes you'd buy. BASF blanks ready to go😜
I feel the pain in these lyrics. Brilliantly describes a broken heart. Not to mention the incredible singing.
you're preaching to the converted, I've been listening to Jimmy for 40+ years and see him live at least once or twice a year - how lucky are we?? No other overseas act comes close to our home grown 🇦🇺❤🦘
My mate Jim. Yep! He's still doing it. Not only is he a great artist but a really great bloke as well. Funny as. I've known him for 53yrs now. Used to sit on his knee when I was 3yrs old.
This is one of my very favourite Barnesy songs.
Kim Carnes is doing backup vocals!
Really??? Never knew that...
Oh that's cool. I was watching a Michael McDonald performance on you tube & she was back up vocalist there too.
When Jimmy sings about love……damn! ❤️
Jimmy Barnes is a legend of Australian rock music.... alongside ACDC
Always loved the production of this song and loved seeing it live at Jimmy’s concerts in the 80s.
😊
This band is his first live band featuring bass player Bruce Howe, who played in a band with Bon Scott (pre AC/DC) in my hometown of Adelaide, South Australia.
So glad you appreciate this. Great Australian rock song. The 2nd verse vocal is just perfect.
Favourite song ever.
Great song and great reaction. Definitely your next Jimmy is Ride the Night Away. Classic song and one of his best.
One of my favourites 😍
Dude I grew up on jimmy an cold chisel I’ve seen him live 4 times an once with swannie he’s an Australian icon bro god bless the barn
Just love your reactions to Aussie Rock mate! FYI... his BV’s in this video include Jimmys beautiful sister Linda Barnes May she rest in Paradise ❤️, the amazing Maggie McKinney ‘Queen of the highs’ and the incredible Shauna Jensen. Aussie rock at its finest here my friend! Filmed in the middle of Sydney Harbour! Miss those days mate!
Yes this is awesome
I'm so glad you've discovered it and love it 💥🔥🤘🥁🎸🎤🎶🌏🇦🇺🦘👍👌
One of my all time favs of Jimmy’s & chisel 😝
There’s a funny story around the making of this clip. Jimmy and his band had a big night before filming and only Jimmy turned up to start filming. His crew has to fill in for the band for this clip
Wow! I was just listening to this on the way home from work a few hours ago thinking to myself I reckon ol mate would froth on this!
This song is epic!
Are they a range that Jimmy Barnes can't hit 😂 He's absolutely my all time all around favorite male vocalist in the world .
Kim Carnes is the backup singer with Jimmy
Love it, song and Jimmy and your reaction to it all, pure enjoyment 👍
Awesome mate. Jimmy's friking amazing..🇳🇿
So glad you did that one! Fuc*en love it! ❤️
Love this song. Bought the 45 2nd hand ❤
A new one 'yay'. Love your reactions
Loved it! One of my favourites of Jimmy's.
I mean, Cold Chisel and Jimmy Barnes solocareer is just incredibly good :)
Yeah man love this song. Like an idling V8, give it a few squirts -then big revs!
Dude this is another song that jerks chills all over me and even the people sitting beside of me that's not even listening . Hes absolutely the best male vocalist I've ever heard .
Another song I love of his is Promise Me You'll Call.
One of my favourite Jimmy songs. Australian pub rock, perfect.
Eddie van halen knocked on jimmy's door in person and asked him to be the lead singer. .awesome.
Think this one is a favourite..old times , memories of Australian rock music during my more youthful days . 👍
Have you reacted to Baby Animals? Also, Jimmy's song Driving Wheels is his best.
Daylight is his best....
The whole Bodyswerve album is awesome
No second prize is another great song from Bodyswerve
Total damn 🔥
Tell Jimmy Fallon how great Our Barnsey is, because about 5yrs ago, on his show, he said Our Barnsey sounded like a screaming cat. He doesn’t know talent.
No talent Fallon, who cares. Anyone who knows music knows Barnsey has more skill than most☝🏻😁
I dig it that you like it.
Apparently there are 2 types of vocal chords. The inner ones which most people use can stretch and blow out but jimmy uses the outer ones that don't stretch or wear out.
Check out his best album, Freight Train Heart.. so many classic songs
and Kim Carnes 'Bette Davis eyes' on backing,
hope you meet jimmy one day - i am sure you turned lots of people on to him
Did you say Gary Foo? Is this the Gary Foo I Knew back in the day? Highschool? Any way we used to smash this song to the campground everynight, And we smashed it completelelely
More Two Fires. Ahhhhhh. Oh God. ' Not saying anybody's wrong or right'.....
His music makes me want to head to the front bar and have a frothy.
I forgot about this song! Shame on me!!
❤🥰⚘🔥
I just realized something.
I am sure you have noticed that both Jimmy and David have somewhat cheeky personality at times.
David while working on his Today Show decided to sneak onto the set of Australia's The Voice and try his luck.
There is footage of him doing some daytime advertising for the show.
He does a cheeky rendition of Ceelo Greens, Forget you.
It is short and sweet, perhaps something to react to on your own since it is so short. But definately good for a laugh.
This was the time he went sol for a while. Brilliant.
Yes baby @thatsingerreactions Chris Cornell was so talented 💚
Hey man..if u haven’t already done “Too much love ain’t enough” by Barnesy, u need to!
2 Aussies in the top 5, I'll take that as a win😂😂😜
Went solo.. has to be one of the best male vocalists.. nothing's out of range.
👌.
Not sure if someone has told you yet but Jimmy Barns & Mark Lizotte (aka Johnny Diesel) are related. Barnsey is Mark's brother-in-law. Their wives are sisters
You should do a reaction to his duet with Tina Turner.
The absolute hands-down best thing Jimmy Barnes ever did was his part in Big Enough. Go to 2:20 in the following video.
ruclips.net/video/rvrZJ5C_Nwg/видео.html
I don't know how Barnesy wasn't the biggest name in the world!
Nashville should've adopted him and cold chisel back in the day!!
He's if Joe Cocker and Aretha Franklin had a child!!
That's Kim Carnes on backing vocals.
do Flame trees, ==
You should listen to some Cold Chisel, when Jimmy sang it was even better 👍🏻👍🏻.
Just stay on here and when you hit 500k you upload to patreon first man. But keep uploading here bro.
React to Celestial Utai - Deja vu The voice Australia
ah kim carnes is it? sounded like Melisa Etheredge -ish
diesel on guitar
I don't think so.. There were 10 different guitar players on that album, and Diesel wasn't one of them.
@@RodsPinballVideos nah that's defo diesel
It’s not diesel
@@craigbourbonevans its definitely not. This was 1985, and it wasn't til a couple of years later that Diesel started playing in Barnes's band. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/For_the_Working_Class_Man#Recording_personnel
I believe it's Waddy Wachtel, el supremo session guy in LA where the song was recorded. His tone and style is pretty unmistakeable.
LIVE: Wild Thing ruclips.net/video/7Bgr_WVSL84/видео.html I want to know for sure - JimmyB
Chris Cornell - Like A Stone... He doesn't beat Jimmy or Johnny, but he's fuckin good just the same...
No one sings like Chris 💔
Kim Carnes on BV
im an aussie and luv jimmy but chris cornell is a master as well he wails, check him out in temple of the dogs song called hunger strike with the singer from pearl jam minty song ruclips.net/video/VUb450Alpps/видео.html
Who's your top 5 now dude.
