A few months ago, I saw your 2021 video on best image viewers for windows and I downloaded Image Glass, it is a perfect image viewer for me and suits all my needs, but a few weeks ago, it has been slowed down a lot, any image I open from windows explorer takes atleast 5-10 seconds to open, so now I'm going to try Pictureflect and XN view hoping that they are fast.
I want app for tagging ,because I have like 3000 photo of wedding and I have to select few, with tag it will be easier like mac os in simple red, orange, etc.. tag, but in windows it goes to details in properties for tag. It take to much time .

ImageGlass does everything I need (plays gifs, left / right arrow / thumbnail view at botton, does NOT play videos (which is what I want), has themes, customizable.
Does any of them open images in smoothly animating floating windows like Picasa viewer? Basically I want floating Picasa windows that can smoothly display AVIF and HEIC, including in HDR when I get an HDR monitor.
Thank you. Now using image glass. I was having a weird problem where windows photo was applying a white filter over screen shots of mine. After wasting an hour I figured it would be better to install a competing free software than to bug fix something with glaring issues.
I started using IrfanView and It looks nice. current windows photo app is heavy weight and It doesn't have random slideshow feature from old photo viewer app. IrfanView is light weight. It has random slideshow feature and It's exactly looks like old photo viewer app that I loved.
ImageGlass has been amazing from the minutes I've tested it, looks completely functional, free without fremium, ad-free, only uses 50MB of RAM, translated, open-source...! Thank you a lot for this video

Dude you're the best!! I'm still on windows 10, and Photos app manages to max out my cpu, and freeze / lag everything. The first app is very clean. Idk why I didn't do this years ago. Ifran is fast, but I hate that it doesn't follow the sorting order set on the folder. It's always doing it's own thing.

I’m looking for a photo viewer that I can view 3 to 400 photos at once and drag and drop them into another program. I need the images to be large enough to view them for inspection reasons and then drag that picture into another program. Do you have any suggestions for that
image glass is good for single image viewing, if let say if u did an animation with stable diffusion, you can see there is some lags in preview if u run all the image frames to preview your animation... XnView runs pretty smoothly without any lags which is a testimony of fast image viewer, but the only downside is the interface abit dated. But anyway I'm sticking with XnView because of low resource and smooth image viewing.
I have an issue with irfanview, its changes me the thumbnails of many programs. Does not show the correct thumbnail for each programm's icons. Anyone knows how fix it? Thanks!
Thanks, I can't stand windows 10 new default viewer (the old one was good, but I didn't upgrade to w10) and video player, both these things cannot play all formats even though they are default. I had problems with Irfanview so I switched to xnview, it seems ok. But at least WMP is an ok default for music since majority of what I'm going to listen to are mp3s and flacs.
Its interesting that Microsoft after 25 years is not able to integrate a photoviewer that usuable. Then its interesting that im not paranoid, but im really not sure what to trust here.

FastStone can display up to 4 images at once across the screen. In the thumbnail view, highlight the selected images and press the "P" key. Mouse wheel = zoom all images, mouse wheel + Ctrl = zoom selected image.
I came here because I was sick of listening to my CPU cooling fan, revving up, the moment I had viewed an image in MS Photos and clicked the left/right arrow a few times, to browse other images in the folder. 😕 I currently got IrfanView, as you spoke highly of it (it has a few issues, but I might be able to fix those in settings..?), although, I'm not a fan of their icon; images where the thumbnail won't load, I just see this goofy bordeaux roadkill cartoon cat. 😅 I don't mean to rip on their sense of humor, but it's a bit aesthetically displeasing. Also, ImageGlass no longer seems free(?) It's affordable, sure, but my whole point was to "fix" a problem with an image viewer, that I already have, and Microsoft doubtfully plan to fix the memory leak issue with MS Photos for us.
5 minutes of a video starts with a intro at the 47th second... 46 seconds of waste time, which is equal to 329.372 hours for a vew of 25,777.... stop wasting our time,,,, be pointable,reasonable,,,,,,,,, u will have 1M without even boosting... Men don't talk to much....

The Imagine image viewer/editor is excellent. It offers a huge range of file types to save as.

Yeah! Acdsee was the best... years ago.. but now it is expensive and has lots of unused functions for me...

I do it in ACDSee but it is not free software...
Also in many vievers you can rate photos with ☆☆☆☆☆ and sort it later.

FastStone Image Viewer is piece of crap because it doesn't support multiple windows, you can only view 1 image at a time.
FastStone can display up to 4 images at once across the screen. In the thumbnail view, highlight the selected images and press the "P" key. Mouse wheel = zoom all images, mouse wheel + Ctrl = zoom selected image.
