    Although it's not really marketed as a photo editor, if you have a powerful enough computer, the video editing software DaVinci Resolve can also be used to edit images, applying a whole selection of effects, colour correction, and more. It comes in a free version and a paid Studio version, though you will likely only need to free version.

    I disagree. I use Gimp already for years and it is the least intuitive slowest starting software I have ever used. Even after using it for years, I still get extremely irritated when I need to do something new. Every little thing has an enormous learning curve and never is logical. I just don't understand how stupid they could make the user interface. I would never ever recommend Gimp to anyone even though I use it.

    • @danielmelcher5310
      @danielmelcher5310 Год назад +16

      If you hate it so much why in the world do you use it? That makes absolutely no sense!!! There are tons of video editing software available

    • @computerjantje
      @computerjantje Год назад +2

      @@danielmelcher5310 You have a point there. The problem is that currently Gimp is the software I know best and for any other program I have to start from scratch. When I started with Gimp I thought it was just me needing to get used to new software. And although I slowly learned new functions, it became more clear that every freaking new function took a lot of searching and after a year of struggling I now dare to conclude that it is just a really crappy non intuitive user interface. So I take every opportunity to tell people to not fall for my mistake and just chose software that works easier from the start.
      Because of limited lime I use Gimp but tell myself that next vacation I have to start learning another program to finally toss this Gimp Garbage.

      Not sure if you have heard of PhotoGIMP, which is a free patch that customises the GIMP user interface to emulate Photoshop’s, while also changing GIMP’s default shortcuts to match those of Photoshop. For my laptop that I use at work (provided by the company with low specs), I use Photopea instead of Photoshop that is pre-installed in the laptop because it takes so long to load the programme and is so laggy. Photopea is a pretty good alternative especially when you install ad blockers on your browser and ads can't appear on the Photopea website. For my personal laptop I install PhotoGIMP and the layout is the same as Photoshop.
