ShareX is an amazing tool, and incredibly useful, but you should know that by default it will automatically upload all the screenshots you take anonymously to Imgur, because in the screenshot capture workflow it has “upload image to host” turned on by default. If you’re screenshotting sensitive information, you should disable this by going to “preferences-> advanced -> disableUpload” and set it to “true”
The “upload image to host” is no more turned on by default. Furthermore you can change that behavior in "After capture tasks" without touching the advanced preferences you mentioned. If you set "disableUpload" to "True" the OCR functionality doesn't work anymore. Hope it helps 🙂
Good to know, thanks! I just installed it and was about to tinker with the settings. I'll look for this before anything else.
And I was using this app for past 1 year
@@AbrarShaikh2741 oh no! Hopefully stuff didn’t get uploaded for you! If you did end up accidentally uploading something, you can open the sharex app, right click on the image, then in the dropdown go to copy -> deletion URL, then paste that in your browser and it will allow you to delete the uploaded image
You can use build-in program snipping tool for taking screenshots
00:30 - Steps to achieving flow:
1) Type furiously
2) Move irrelevant window on 2nd monitor slightly to the right
3) Repeat.
Thanks Tom!

@@Thomasfrank You should really up your wpm if you’re having trouble hacking the source code of their DNS, those are rookie numbers.

That´s the best productivity content that I've seen in years. Props for paying some attention to all the Windows folks out there.
Exactly man. I don't understand why other content creators assume all of us have MacOS. Like it's all expensive and I'm not sure all worth it.
@@Yigit_Ugur I thought that too, until I got an m1 MacBook Air lol
Thank you so much for making this video! There is definitely not enough content out there about productivity tools for Windows. I switched to windows recently and was trying to find an alfred alternative and this was exactly what I was looking for.
1:05 Optical Character Recognition in ShareX has been a gamechanger for my study - thank you so much :)
For me, the biggest productivity tool is PowerToys.
More powerful window tiling/layouts (a must on ultrawide), key/shortcut remapper, OS-wide color picker, Explorer upgrades with file previews and group renaming, etc.
me too, one installer contains multiple useful utilities.
sizer is great as well
Yeah, power toys is a critical install on new builds.
Ya. I was wondering how the Flow Launcher differs from the power toys launcher. Helpful video thanks
Also, there's a Everything plugin for Powertoys Run, just like Flow Launcher!
Such a great list, thank you. And half the apps I hadn't heard of. I would add Stardock's Fences and Groupy, very useful utilities.
Ok this is hands down one of the best videos I've seen recently ! So much interesting stuff : quicklook, flowlauncher, espanso, everything. Really really valuable stuff! Thanks !
I love these videos of you, i found many app that can use for general case in a smarter ways. Thanks so much Thomas Frank!
This video came in the right time… as I’m trying to expand my RUclips content, and started on writing a novel, I wanted to have some good apps to help increase my productivity and make my workflow smoother… I work on a Windows laptop and an iPad and this video came in the absolutely perfect time…
Thanks Thomas!!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
If you want to be productive, wake up early, eat a healthy snack and then work out. You will feel so energized and be productive the rest of the day 💪🏼❤️
True
Yeah that depends. Eating sugar in the morning works better for me usually. I’m enjoying what I like while still waking up win-win
Oh I was going to say if you want to be productive get yourself a mac
If you want to be productive, stop being unproductive.
Or, get some good quality sleep.,,fast until noon ( only water or green tea or black coffee with glycine or stevia)..eat protein first ( a couple of eggs, for instance) then wait half an hour to eat some low glycemic carbs..wait 1 hour before you exercise and after you finish repeat the same order of food intake. Done!
Thank you so much for this video! You’re absolutely right that it’s harder to find apps like these for Windows so really appreciate this!!
Can't thank you enough for this list. Flow Launcher and QuickLook are literally the only parts of Mac OS I've missed since switching to Windows. Makes a world of difference!
I am using Mack book but for some reason Windows is a better software it has things that Mac just makes it harder to do
THANK YOU! The basic utility of QuickLook is exactly what I have been missing since I sold my Mac and built a PC. Absolutely key for photographers. I LOVE that I can pin the window and use arrow keys to navigate. This is going to make looking through my SD card after a photoshoot so much easier. I'm ashamed that I used to open dozens of Paint 3D windows just to view each photo.

This was great and much needed. Thank You!
Best video I've seen in a long time. Great productivity tips, thank you for that really !
Would love to see a more in depth look into flow launcher and exspanso; seems incredibly versatile for both personal or professional settings
I just stumbled across you and I've watched several vids in a row. You are on top of it buddy!!!
THANK U SO MUCH for this. I am a mac user, and my office laptop which is a windows seem to be lacking in so many ways. This helps to bridge the gap
Please do more of this. This is amazing and very helpful, even for my work life.
Some of these are really useful, especially QuickLook and FlowLauncher :) Thank you!
Great video as always! You sound & look great with that ICON Pro!
Suprised Windows Power Toys wasn't on this list. I could not live without some of the tools it comes with such as Fancy zones, Bulk Image resizer, PowerRename, Color Picker and so many more and it's so well integrated into Windows it feels like they should just include it as standard.
So many great tools! Definitely including them in our workflow!
Thank you Thomas! Super useful tips. Already installing a few of them :)
Dude! So cool to see you here! your content absolutely rocks(or jazzes, more approprietly)
@@joaogritti2199 Thank you! Thonas makes amazing content :)
Thanks a lot for sharing this very informative video, this has saved me a lot of time of searching for alternative apps to switch from Mac to Windows, great job man :D.
I mean. What can I say. I came here because I was about to purchase a paid snapshot tool because snip and sketch just doesn't cut it for me. And I ended up installing 5 new apps and spending hours and hours configuring everything. You literally got me so excited. All these shortcuts!!! I love what you do and you are my new favorite RUclipsr. Yup. I'm just happy I'm straight, because otherwise I'd still be fantasizing about you even now when I'm about to go to bed! Thanks :P
Excellent recommendations; I was surprised to hear about the switch to Edge. I'll give it a go. Thanks!
Wow, I didn't know some of them. Really useful, thank you!
Loved Flow Launcher... Thank you !!
7:00 Not true anymore about Chrome. You can actually click the down arrow (first icon in the top-right-hand corner before "Minimise") and see and search all of your tabs now. It is amazing!!!
Yay finally a Windows Video! Thank you Thomas!!!!
Amazing list! Flow Launcher and Espanso are godsends!!
Love your videos! They are really helpful
Thx, This video really helped a lot! Especially 08:09(Flow Launcher)and 10:10(Everything). 👍
Thank you for this! I’m a new windows user, moving from a Mac, and have been trying to find productive apps for my new Dell. Definitely hope you make one for 2023 👏🏽
I gotta say that this is the first productivity content dedicated to Windows users I've seen in a long time. Kudos for that! Thanks a lot.
All the other guys in YT use only Mac, but here in my country (Brazil), the vast majority of people use Windows, since Apple products are ridiculously expensive and unaccessible
Excellent video! Thank you. Awesome content.
Fantastic video brother. Much appreciated.
Everything is clear and above the best of the apps you mention.
Awesome video! very helpful!
Hey Dude! Great video. Thank you very much!
This list was surprisingly useful!
shareX the best one. Automaticly upload my Screenshot in a URL. This is the best one. Thank bro
There used to be a somewhat quicklook function in windows wayback in Windows 7. Document files (word, powerpoint, spreadsheet) contents cann be seen on the side just like quicklook
I learned a lot of useful applications. Thank you very much. 👏
Great tool tips. Thank you.
Thank You very much! This is the most useful video I have seen this year (to help my productivity)! I love your videos, they helped me a lot.
btw - I noticed that "Flow Launcher" link does not have a working page linked to it, it is outdated. Can it be downloaded somewhere else?
I'vd have Flex at night on all devices for years but you're right! All the other basic needs need to be attended to as well. I haven't watched you in close to a decade! I made it further faster and with so much appreciation - Thank you!
So useful. Thanks
Awesome! Thanks a lot.
Hey Thomas, So thankful for this video 😊
.
*I think you should make a FLOW LAUNCHER TUTORIAL*
.
It will be really helpful. Thanks. 💝
Thank u, very useful video!
Oh nice, I'm already using those, but not Espanso. It does look dope, I'll try it!
An extra tip from me: ShareX is cool, but for most intents and purposes you can use Win + Shift + S to use the snipping tool that's now builtin in Windows 10 and Windows 11. No Gifs but excellent for everything else!
as always thanks thomas!
Thank you very much for your attention to windows users !
🔥 video! Thanks for sharing
I need this video so much
Thank you !!!!!!
8:20 flow launcher echivalentul pt mac bartolomeu
9:40 espensor de descarcat shortcuts/text expansion scrii un cuv si inlocuieste cu adresa
Sharex screenshots mai bune cu text copiat
10:30 everyting pt cautat fisiere rapid pe windows
I have to say THANK YOU for your work
Perfect video and apps... Keep it up Boss
Thank you for sharing this unknown programs for us for better windows experience/ cheers
This is setting new frontier of video that you haven’t really done before, I like it
i really learned a lot... thank u
This video is gold! 👏🏻
Oh flow launcher sounds really exciting! I'll definitely get my hands on that tonight
Thank you so much!
Very informative video!
Really cool apps, thank you!! 😎🤓
You’re a gem for doing this ❤️😭
I can tell you from 20 years of experience, that windows app everyone must have (also all are free)
PowerToys - Absolute must, its the swiss army knife of tools.
Ditto - Clipboard manager
PatchMyPC - update manager | or simply use powershell win-get
Share X - snapshot tool
Davinci Resolve - video editing
Discord - communications
OneNote - note taking app, cross platform, no limitations
And there are also QOL small tools like f-lux and others, but the basic ones should cover most of the needs.
clipdiary try for clipboard
I love the wallpaper on your desktop - would you be able to share where we can get it too? Thanks, great work!
this is amazing thank you so much
Thank you for recommending flow. it's a game-changer
🥳 this is so usefull! Thanks
This is fantastic!!! Do you have a Mac version as well?? These are genuinely useful, not very well known, and Free!! I love you
Thanks for the recommendation
ShareX, Everything, Espanso are amazing software
Thanks for the windows list.
You did a good work
This video was amazing!! The WIN +V is a WIN!
Thanks very much for this video, three are many useful apps there that I was not aware of 🙏.. First view of any of your content >> Sub'd 😎
AWESOME video! I've been lokimg for a Spotlight alternative for Windows for a while now
Cool video and a lot of useful tools that I've never heard about before. I have one question though, it seems like Flow Launcher already indexes the files on the system to provide instant access so I don't know what is the benefit of adding the Everything app into the mix.
thank you so much 🥰
2:58 preview in exporer is actually built into windows by pressing alt+p. Dont know how good it is compared to other systems, I dont think it let you preview videos for example, but works well enough-ish for me
Thank you Thomas
Thanks for doing apps on windows
Nice content!
Amazing app, started using some for my productivity! Please suggest something for TODO management. Don't want Notion, looks overloaded with functionality I don't need. Want something quick , simple and primarily using keyboard shortcuts, kind of like Flow Launcher concept.. Thank you
Windows 😍🤩FINALLY one of my fave youtube creators makes this kind of video (cause most of em creators prefer apple 🤷🏻♀)
Thank youuuu I knew Im in the right place since I found you while doing my solo thesis 😍😘
Notion looks really interesting. Been using OneNote but Notion looks easier....
So if you like quicklook, you can activate something similar in windows 10 in file explorer under the view ribbon. Second from left on the view ribbon is the Preview Pane button. You can also change the content display of that folder, like large icons for images or a detail list with file meta data, with the buttons to the right of that. (Which you can scroll through by holding the control key and scrolling the mouse wheel.
Preview pane is ok for many, but Quicklook supports a much wider range of file types. Finally I can see my photoshop files quickly without open big big programs
just wondering if there's a better launcher for Windows 11, stumbling upon this, and getting bunch of recommendations, and they're eye-opening! Thanks a lot!
Thomas, I love your videos. I specially like how you find topics which are extremely relatable. I have two questions.
1. Are you hiring?
2. Is there any guide in the world where I can start notion from zero?
I absolutely love the way you structured the comment 😂❤️
@@sal702 I want him to read it. Thanks for acknowledging though. :)
Thank you so much
Wow Fantabulous way cool interesting thanks
What an incredible video
thank you very much bro this video content help me so much😊
True... there aren't many such, let alone good, videos for Windows users.
2:59 It is present in windows but turned off by default in "View" tab of explorer. And it is very usefull for documents
I'm very happy to see that
