It is very interesting when at 2:49 he says " the smaller connection goes on the top so that it will not take a large current."
Many years ago I was doing some consulting on a ship where one of its large electric motors caught fire. It turned out that the crew of the ship had changed the top highly conductive copper washers and threaded screws, to stainless steel screws and SS washers which were more resistive. Many people think that the lower connection surfaces in contact with the lug take more current than the upper connection surfaces in contact with the underside of the head of the screw/ washer, but in fact, heavy current does go up the screw then out and down through the screw head and down the washer or the other connection shown in this video. Thus, there are two heavy current paths to consider in such screwed connections.
Well, due to this simple inconsideration, the resistance of the SS, the screws got hot, expanded, and the loose connection resulted in more heat being developed which did not do any good to the large motor.
So there could be a situation where if the lower surfaces are not clean, a heavier path will go up the upper path to cause heavy heating. I do agree with this gentleman in the video to connect the " smaller extra auxiliary connections" on top of the lug but I thought I would point out that heavy current does go through both the lower path and the upper path of a screwed connection as shown in this video.
Note that on a threaded shaft where the main full nut is locked by a half nut, many people place first the full nut and home it then locks the full nut with the half nut. I beg the readers to think about the resulting distribution of forces on the nuts as the proper way to do it is to first run the half nut home and then lock the half nut with the full nut. The latter is better engineering structural logic!!!!! The hidden wonders in engineering are enough to keep a person occupied thinking about such issues which many people take for granted.
The equipment shown in this video is very robust and of good quality. Congratulations.
Thanks for the positive feedback. We keep developing our system to be more robust, simple, safe and high quality
Thank you Dr Sheldon Cooper.
How much cost the whole complete kit?
Good
yes
interested. I think i need one set next year built cat
I have a 40 ft steel house boat. 1973 river Queen. Currently has two 225 slant 6 motors. How much to set up. These motors are 100 hp. But never go over 8 knots
2 solutions: 1) full electric max 24kw or 2) Parallel hybrid ( 100hp diesel +24 kW electric )ruclips.net/video/uw6DjyZheGI/видео.html
You'll need over 100KW motors. These are way too small.
Look at getting two Nissan Leaf Motor-controller-gearbox stacks. About $4000usd each. Nissan Batteries too if you can fit them someplace
My boat is about 25.000. Lbs. two 100 hp slat 6 drive it. But I don’t really need speed. 8 to 10 knots. What would you recommend and how much

You are using 4x12 volts batteries. Is the electric motor 48 volts ? You u are running on 48 volts at 40 amps hour. How many amps consume the motor at Peak?
250 A
1:53
can any electrical fields affect the fuse 300 amp that right below wire 2?
No, they can't
How.much motor controller and.LCD display without motor?
Can that motor be directly attached to the propeller of the boat? And what is the total weight of that system?
Yes,the motor could be connected directly, but we always suggest to mount the thrust bearing between the propeller shaft and the motor shaft. It is much more professional system.
Can this work in a wooden fishing boat 60feet in length and 14feet inW
yes
I would like one
I own a 23 foot Carver mariner 1988 cabin cruiser , in south west Florida . Lots of boats out here that want to convert the owners would love the intuitive rebuild you offer. Sponsor me and let me set this area on fire with your product. Baxter Rich.
I got a 220se shamrock I'd love to convert. Or go some kind of hybrid but the cost for the average person is still to high and the environment with saltwater don't think this thing would last long.
Slotted screws? Would be better with hex bolts as people have better tool options then.
yes, we can put hex bolts
its great but the big question if i want to add dynamo to the motor so the dynamo can charge the battery simply it can be or not tell me smart man ?
Sure, why not put dynamo's in the water on both sides of the boat to for charging, and the air around the boat. It will then charge itself just by running.

what are you going to do with 12kw?? also why 48 volt?
How many kW is the motor?
12
I don't like the motor power cable over the top of a fuse link.
A malfunction with one could cause damage to the other.
Nor do I like cables crossing over one another.
It would be better to bring the heavy power cables in from one side, and the terminal set rotated through 90 degrees.
Also the screw fittings are too small, and too easily dropped, and lost.
They should be captive screws that are impossible to lose.
Otherwise, looks like a clean functional system.
Dear Frend thnak you for your comment we are glad that you like our system. If you had looked more closely purpose on motor controller is just to isolate cables from metal housing, they are not meant to hold cables tight to each other. That's why they are made out of rubber material.
The fuse is inside of the ceramic housing.

With motors, you get vibration. Vibrating parts that are touching can chafe, and cause damage to insulation.
If a fuse blows, it causes very high heat, that can damage a cable insulation.
If the cable insulation becomes damaged, then there can be a short circuit.
A short circuit on a cable can cause a fire!
Cables that are bunched can also overheat when carrying heavy amperage loads.
I'm a design engineer, educated to MSc. [Masters] level, with many years of experience, both of designing and remedying faults.
My comments are to warn you of possible dangerous malfunctions, and how to avoid them.

hello, the model presented is therefore 12Kw, what torque in Nm can it develop? thank you
82 Nm - continius Moment

That 12kW that motor is a monster. Whould sink my boat.
That's right, these are professional marine machines, they are not toys!
Really? Must be a tiny boat. I have a 17' with a 455 cu in motor (over 500 lbs). This would SAVE weight. Of course, the 1400 rpms isn't enough. Still, I like seeing these, as they will likely be the future (even with gas/diesel feeding the electricity in larger boats). Kinda like a diesel/electric locomotive.
Dis ess goot yes?
Very good

The recent shift from a cruise ship's diesel engine to an electric propulsion engine has become a hot topic.
I know some brands of electric propulsion motors.
A mono-hole traveler who is cruising only with pure solar power.
The RUclips channel already has 380,000 subscribers.
I understand that there is.
What's been the hot topic for such users is...
When using an electric propulsion engine on a selling yacht,
It's an electric propulsion engine capable of regeneration.
SPM132 is one of your products.
It's the best product to use on a sale yacht.
can see
Is this product capable of regeneration...?
Torqeedo's product starts at 600 RPM.
OCEANVOLT's products start at 6 knots.
I understand that self-development is possible.
Your company's products are about that.
Is there a product that is responding...?
yes, all TEMA permanent magnet motors are also generators. For sailing yachts we also provide special blades propeller to increase speed and regeneration efficiency.
@@temayourpermanentpower6318 OK. That's another level of cool. Sail boats spend an enormous amount of timing spinning props which could be used to put power back into the batteries on overcast or rainy days, rather than rely on pure solar panels.
We want to do a parallel hybrid set up, using existing diesel and (maybe transmission?). We want to do a whole RUclips series on it. Interested?? I’m sending you an email. See our channel!

Hello, Do you want a partnership in Turkey
@@temayourpermanentpower6318 hi
Thing probably weighs a tonne lol
My first concern is always safety, sorry my friend but pullying both battery power leads through that glad without gloves and safety glasses is very bad example of how not to connect a high power DC to AC system. Setting aside your won health concerns, passing both cables through the same gland is not good practise you need to think this through a bit better, one touch on those cables a your gone my friend. To on-lookers here is what I mean.. ruclips.net/video/i_-A0AE3lXY/видео.html
Dear friend. If you had looked more closely you would have seen that when cables were inserted through the gland, they were not under voltage as they were not connected to the battery yet.
Glands purpose on motor controller is just to isolate cables from metal housing, they are not meant to hold cables tight to each other. That's why they are made out of rubber material. For extra safety as it's short circuit caused by bad handling or accident, there is fuse mounted inside of motor controller housing.
