How much maximum KW can the diesel engine generate while charging a battery bank, which can then supply the electric motor when needed? Thank you.
An electric motor integrated with a diesel engine functions both as a propulsion motor and as a generator that charges the batteries while the diesel engine is running. For example , if the electric motor has 50 kW as propulsion power, it can also operate as a generator with the same power, charging the batteries at 50 kW.

There is no difference in horsepower/kW between an electric motor and a diesel engine. For example, 20 horsepower (14 kW) in electric = 20 horsepower (14 kW) in diesel. The difference lies in the torque (Nm): in electric motors, it is instantly high, while in diesel engines, it increases slowly, reaches a peak, and then starts to decrease with RPM🛥

What draw on the diesel if you only run diesel without eletric/ gen/..? Can there be a straight shot diesel to prop. Without engaging electronics?

As we can see, the cooling of the electric motor is ensured by the rear fan, I have a question, how is the efficient cooling of the electric motor ensured in lower RPM ?
at low RPM, the E-motor power is also very low, therefore the E-motor does not require special additional cooling
@@temayourpermanentpower6318 Yes, I assume that the combination of permanent magnet motor plus the effort generated to rotate the propeller allows this, I personally had problems with some low RPM motors used in the industrial field to rotate some material dispensers, but I used asynchronous motors controlled by VFD (variable frequency drive ), in that case the mechanical effort was not reduced proportionally with the speed, I solved it by replacing the respective motors with some special motors that had cooling by a separate fan.

Logically your idea is the best I’ve seen. Hybrid has been around since the first submarine and with advancements in diesel efficiency and range coupled with advancements in battery technology and electric motor torque extending a watercraft’s range and propulsion reliability. Lol the most insane concept I’ve seen in the boater world are people saying their going 100% green and ditching their diesel and replacing it with fully electric. Solar panels and wind generators do not have the output to recharge batteries to their maximum capacity so they still have to rely on shore power or a generator. Lol that’s not going green. Swedish Built submarines use 2 sterling diesels combined with electric engine propulsion in their new state of the art submarine. Unbelievable range and time spent underwater. Gotland class have revolutionized submarine warfare. Taking that and using it in boating will make water travel to the next level.

Question? When running your diesel does the torque from the motor recharge the batteries? Also when it monitors that the batteries are topped off is there a way to automatically shut the Diesel engine off and run the electric motor? And a way to manually select diesel or electric in case of one or the other malfunction. Also a way to add leftover charging from your solar and wind generator into the battery banks?
