Hip-Hop Head DISAPPOINTED by TOOL - "Fear Inoculum" - Видеоклипы
"Doesn't sound like Tool." This one track is the very essence of what they've been for 20+ years.
Harry Roberts it sounds like shit, old stuff is 10x better. Waited 15 years for this?!
@@LedZeplican Please elaborate as to how it's shit. It sounds fucking awesome
Honesty Gaming it’s shit because it’s non comparable to Tool of the past in any way and MJK is a fucking TOOL! for making everyone wait 13 years for this shit. I’m willing to bet ANY of the hundreds of ‘scrapped’ songs they continued to tease everyone with over the years would have been even worse though, imagine how bad they would have been if 13 years later they said to themselves ‘yeah, this is the single we’re releasing 13 years later’
Honesty Gaming everyone’s saying shit like ‘woah sounds like lateralus! Woah sounds like Vicarious!.... dude these people trying to compare it to good Tool. It’s that bad people cant even respect it for what it is as it is. Not looking forward to the rest of this album whatsoever and the new logo is fucking LAME too
@@LedZeplican I feel sorry for you. :/
I was a little underwhelmed on my first listen, but now after giving it multiple listens I love it. This song definitely gets better every time you hear it
True at first I was like ok, now I'm like fuck yeah
That’s called Stockholm syndrome lmao
A lot of tool/a perfect circle songs are like that, I think. You find something new every time you listen. They’re pretty deep songs, there’s a lot to unwrap
As does most of there songs it has to sink in.
Dylan Harris I remember when 10,000 days came out and I was pretty disappointed on the first listen. Took me a few listens to really start to love it and now I’d consider it their best album
If this doesn't sound like TOOL to you than you haven't been listening to TOOL.
Well said
Tool is progressive metal. They have covered all basis in this song that makes them who they are which is Tool. Lowkey I wanted to punch his reactions at times 😂
fonso exactly!
That's EXACTLY what I thought when he said that! He's clearly not well versed with Tool's catalog of music. This song has a lot of facets from other past songs, almost an amalgamation of some of their past tunes. Learn young Padawan, we Jedi will guide you into the musical Nirvana that is the mighty TOOL!!!!
I have no doubt the album will be fantastic, but they definitely could have chosen a better single.
"Reminds me of someone drumming with their fingers"
Thats cause its someone drumming with their fingers
It's not an actual tribal drum or djembe he uses sample pads with sticks
Someone who's not a tool fan reviewing a tool song and trying to tell us it doesn't sound like tool. Cute.
The other songs are probably much better
Steph229 ikr
One more day Steph
Well it doesn't sound like the most popular songs. Most people don't go deep into irrelevant bands, not saying they're bad just weren't relevant for 10 plus years
Yeah what a fucking dip shit this guy is. If he shut the fuck up for 2 seconds he could maybe actually listen to the song.
Doesnt sound like tool? Obviously you have not listened to them alot
Edit: i may have come off as douchy but all im saying is this is like lateralus but just updated
Agreed. It’s incredibly Tool.
He obviously hasn't. This is the most tool sounding song that they could have released. I think it is perfect considering my favorite album is Lateralus.
agreed, this song isnt perfect but it bloody awesome and not even close to dissapointing
I fully agree to the point I basically left the same comment lol
It doesn't though. It sounds more like A Perfect Circle.
Man, TOOL is not just metal it's an experience. It's not about heavy instruments and senseless lyrics. You feel the music from tool. I love you dude and I respect your opinion. But when you said "it doesn't sound like tool." Listen to the song Reflection from them. This is TOOL. Thanks for the video.
couldn't say it better
But I love me some senseless lyrics and heavy instruments xD
Lol it's okay to like what you like!!! Thanks guys
@Dutch van der Linde No sir not to me.
@@staticcell8785 I understand your statement and opinion :) I was just being silly ;p
Doesn't sound like Tool? This is quintessential Tool...
Only Rosetta Stoned might be more "toolishier"😉
Nazgoroth ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!! This IS WHAT TOOL IS!! 10+ minutes of brilliance flowing with dense riffage and complex time signatures, prog-metal movements upon movements, then you add Maynard’s inimitable vocals and the undeniable brilliance of his lyrics! THIS IS TOOL AND THEY ARE LEGENDS!
It sounds like tool, but it doesnt have that slap base "groove" that I love. It's still a great song though
clifton james ooohhh but it climaxes with that avalanche of Justin’s growling double bass pedal, and fading wah wahs! I love it! ❤️
@@cliftonjames785 I think that's the fault of mixing. If you listen closely, you can kind of hear the slapping. They just kind of put more emphasis on the drums.
Ok, i never listened to metal until now.
This is my first song in metal.
I saw it is in 1st place now in Billboard 200 and i gave it a try.
I FUCKING love this shit now.
This song is on purpose... There are bits and pieces from every album they've made.
Its an anthology of all of their work, in 10 minutes... They are reminding you of why they are in your collection.
And they took all of their music and made one song with all of the elements of their discography, in a well crafted opener.
Where are the real Tool fans? This is a love letter, for our patience.
You gotta listen to more tool .. If you dont think it doesnt sound like them
The songs gotta grow on ya....its track 1!! The opener!!! Relax dude....
Watching musically illiterate people review TOOL is my favorite source of comedy lately.
i agree with him , only on the voice. the instrumental sound a bit like 46&2 , and some parts of the song sounds like SOAD x) but still tool!
You`re right. It is essential of Tool. More I listen to more I like it. I can`t wait for a whole album.
"Doesn't really sound like tool" go listen to literally ANY tool song dude 🤦♂️
str8 up ignorant
This guy sounds eerily similar to a TOOL.
it totally sound like tool, like a bonus song from lateralus or 10000 days, which still makes the song a dissapointment, 13 years of wait not worth it
Reflection pt 2 maybe
@@DEEDZ_z oh yeah
Been a TOOL fan literally since they came out. Own all their albums and have seen them live many times. This could not sound any more like TOOL. This is them in their purest form. TOOL is incapable of making bad music. And yes, TOOL is a very cerebral band, truly masters of their art. You don't come by bands like this often... or ever. TOOL isn't just music, they are an experience.
P.S. Maynard MAY be an alien.
So he escaped Area 51 lol
I definitely agree with that dude!
LOL what if the reason it took 13 years was because he got caught and locked up in Area 51
@Cameron Pangborn you need to give it another listen dude. I was a bit thrown off but I gave it another listen and it's so amazing. You catch so much stuff after many listens
i agree,i couldnt say it in better words
“I don’t know much about Tool. Yup! You definitely don’t know Tool. lol.
What's your favourite Tool song?
I'm just listening to the entire new album. It is just great.

The bass sounds like it’s ripped from the grudge, the drum pattern sounds ripped from reflection, the guitar could be from anything on lateralus it 10k

Yeah Justins bassline in the beginning is new but it sounds straight off Lateralus, and Dannys drumming is great!
Exactly my reaction. Drums are too like lateralus. Tabla is all Right in too. It's a masterpiece
Right!!!! It sounds like it should be on either the Aenima or Lateralus album. While I myself didn't love this track, it's very much a "Tool" song. I'll reserve judgement till I hear the rest of the album.
@@lizvalle3327 yes totally. Aenima or Lateralus. Just between them.
There's your problem. You gotta listen to more Tool bro. They're definitely not trying to win new fans with this.
Exacly they are just them self making the music that they want to make and thats what so beautiful about it
and yet they do
First listen I was like "not bad". 12 listens later I'm now like "this is awesome!!"
This also DEFINITELY sounds like Tool
I like how this has been basically everbodies reaction ahaha

My experience with pretty much every tool song
Me too!
it's funny how many people say that on their first listen they just thought the song was okay nothing special and every time they listen to it they like it more and more I feel the exact same way.
Fear Inoculum is an album that takes multiple listens. I wasn't crazy about it the first time I heard it but the more I listened the more it grew on me and now it's one of my favorite albums of all time from any band. Tool is incredibly talented. No one is on their level as a whole.
If there is one band on planet Earth that this sounds like, it’s Tool.
“Doesn’t even sound like tool”......WHAAAT!?? This song sounds more like tool than tool does
When he says that?

It reminded me a lot of their song Pushit off of their Salival album.
Exactly, and thats why it sucks lol
@@brian_torzala what's the difference between the salival version bc push it is my favorite track of Aenema ..Im actually asking so let me kno
@@InscentiveAdvice The Salival album was essentially a live album, but if I remember correctly is a compilation if different performances made into an album. Similar to Pantera's 101 proof album.
That album's version was Tool's different approach to the song, as stated to the crowd by Maynard himself. I heard this version before the original, so I'm biased in that regard. Still like them both, but the different approach with the Salival version is my favorite of the 2.
Dude... what!!! Doesn’t sound like Tool?? I like your channel a lot bro but you need more Tool in your life!

It doesn’t sound like Tool to someone that’s only ever heard The Pot, Schism, and Vicarious. Any long actual Tool fan knows this is precisely Tool...
Fear Inoculum is essentially a best of medley made of themes from their greatest songs. "Doesn't sound like Tool" my ass! 😂
A non Tool fan publicly reviewing a Tool song is like a church pastor reviewing a Stripper dance.

@@haydenlittleton5942 Of course not but people who havent got contextual awareness, experience or understanding tend to default to not liking things. People dont like what they dont understand. So his opinion is tantamount to useless.
If he was a tool fan or had broader music tastes then maybe his opinion would be worth listening to.
The fact that he describes himself (in his 20s?) By the single genre of music he listens to and is attempting (and good for him for dong so) to branch out of that naive and narrow understanding of music means that his opinions are lacking maturity.
No offence to the guy. I am not even sure why it got suggested to me. These things are boring at best and depressing at worst.
@@sacredgeometry i love seeing people like you pretending Tool is anything more than a Metal band acting like they are more important than a Metal band lol
You don't need a degree to know this song is long winded and boring lacking any impact or aggression or feeling at all lol Just a bit of whining over a repetitive beat until the end when it finally sounds just like ever other Tool song lol.
@@Coinmancer They aren't really metal. Never really have been. Even their last album which took cues from Meshuggah never really felt like it was drawing as much from the metal pool. They are more heavy progressive grunge than anything else.
"You don't need a degree to know this song is long winded and boring lacking any impact or aggression or feeling at all lol Just a bit of whining over a repetitive beat until the end when it finally sounds just like ever other Tool song lol."
No but it would help in realising that it isn't.
Why does a song need aggression? Some of the best music does well without impact or aggression.
That said. I disagree that it doen't have impact. I think that the less aggressive tool became the more impact they started to have which started around aenima/ lateralus and has been a continual trend since then.
Listens to 3 Tool songs: "This doesn't sound like Tool..."
There's no mistaking that this is 100% classic Tool.
Johnathan O'Neal nah classic tool doesn’t take 6 minutes to get going undertow and aenema all of their songs got going right away
@@Bigpalmi aenema had lots of interlude though
@@Bigpalmi Those albums are more cookie cutter rock style. I like that they've PROGRESSED to where they are. So much shitty music out, this will be refreshing.
Well, I'm a Tool fan since my teen yrs and I just love this new song. It's like a tribal ritual, yes, and with the lyrics, it's totally the ritual of letting something bad go (a toxic relationship, or toxic habit, etc.). It has that spirituality that made me fall in love with Tool 15 (or more) yrs ago. And Maynard's voice is...well, I'm in love with his voice. 😍

@@KEVBOYMUSIC it's TRASH. Fuckin not one instrument on a whole album just a bunch of talking and sounds generated from computers.
Ok, so you've never actually listened to hip hop before. I get it. It's kinda sad though, being that closed minded about new experiences. There are lots of instruments in all kinds of hip hop music, and even if there wasn't, so what? Synthesized audio is great, it opens up so many more possibilities that people in EVERY genre even rock/metal are using. You do know Tool uses computer generated sounds, right? Saying something as ignorant as "it's just a bunch of talking and sounds generated from computers." is as ignorant as saying something like "rock music is just a bunch of lazy power chords and some ape smashing drums with sticks." You can reduce anything to something ridiculous that way. I just hope you open your mind a bit, because it's only you who are losing out.
I'm "Disappointed" in your opinion on this

You have to remember that each album is a story in itself and each one has its own ebb and flow highs and lows beginning middle and end...they released this song as a prelude if you will to the show. Think of it as watching trailers before the movie. Its setting the mood for whats to come....only one band in music history has ever done that with perfection and it's the same band that created that idea...PINK FLOYD! Don’t even bother with reacting to more of their songs for RUclips, just go listen to the albums with headphones and vibe out. Honestly, there’s a ton of bands you should just retire from the reaction vids (like Slipknot or Metallica) so you can indulge in their discographies on your own time. Unless it’s a new release, of course. It would drive me crazy to purposely avoid listening to all of an album, especially classic ones like Slipknot’s self titled or Master of Puppets just to save the songs for a future reaction vid. I know your viewers will be just as happy to hear you rave about your favorite albums... the whole draw of the channel is watching someone else discover and fall in love with the music we all have enjoyed forever. Especially with a band like Slipknot... I think it’s about time you just listen to all of it, and I don’t mean in front of a camera. Maybe make a video talking about your favorite songs from each album. I think listening to more on your own time will make future reactions come off as less naive. No offense. Didn't know Tool fanboys were so easily offended. Holy shit...
This song gives me a Reflection vibe. Definately Tool in all it’s aspects.
Anyway, every new Tool album needs a few listens to grow on me (like getting used to Jambi and Wings for Mary for example) and when that process is finished, it became part of me. It’s like a musical journey.
Just reacting to a “trending” song on RUclips for a cheap pop and some clicks even though you “don’t know much about Tool”
He's occupied with Weezer's cover album of soft drink jingles.
You sir haven't listened to enough Tool to appreciate what you just heard! Tool is a band the let's you escape reality. Open your mind and let the music take control!
So if someone doesn't like something they should listen to it another 10-15 times and waste their time when there's better music out there?
I’m perplexed by these comments as well. I loved Sober the first time I heard it 25+ years ago. I love a lot of other ones also, but there are some in their catalog like this are flat and anti-climatic that I just don’t really dig. Sorry
“This doesn’t sound like Tool.” Lol it sounds EXACTLY like a Tool song. Dude, if you admittedly don’t know much about Tool then WHY are you critiquing their music??
Every (real) listener has a valid opinion man. He’s not a critique, so he’s not really critiquing, but what’s the point of a reaction video to not hear they’re reaction? If he didn’t like it, then that’s his opinion.
Music shouldn’t be meant to be listened to by hardcore fans, so his opinions are fine, seeing as he’s a casual listener.
hes dissapointed by TOOL but thinks Killswitch engages new song is great LOL
So I love tool 😊 Danny Carey killing it again 😊 making me miss drumming haha, but this was my first hearing this song, and I enjoyed so much
I remember when everyone thought 6 min was waaayyyyy to long of a song.
Tool: hold our beers.
this is unmistakably tool, how can you say this doesn't sound like them?
You know 70% of the dislikes were people who saw the title clicked dislike and left lmao
Basically me
Tool is one of those unique bands you listen to where at some point in the song, you realize, woah how the fuck did I go from soft and subtle to SO much going on.
Some people are not able to understand and appreciate some things in music. They are beside. That's life. I find this new song so great : suggestive, powerful, instant classic tool (highs and downs, gestion of rythm) song but with new ideas. Complex, a new experience of listening and feelings beneath the skin, in my bones, spirit, soul. Back ! Never been disappointed by this group. So rare. I'm so grateful for that.
Starting to see what took them so long to finish the album :-P
React to Pucifer and A Perfect Circle as well, this song has elements of all three of Maynard’s bands
Steve D.989 Mainly A Perfect Circle but I can see Pucifer.
I said the same thing. I was like wow this is almost like all three combined. 2nd and 3rd listen I was like this is Tool through and through
careful with that edge man, u know nothing about tool
Dude, I couldn't have been happier with this being the first song after 13 years. It's literally everything TOOL has been building to and more.
„Absolutely not what i expected“ 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
did you ever hear tool?😪
THAT IS THE UNIQUE TOOL-SOUND!!!!!
