    Also, I heard Maynard talking on Joe Rogan about how he never write lyrics before the music. He always writes the lyrics TO the music. So your comment about the music vs lyrics actually makes sense with Tool. But don’t ignore the lyrics. Maynard’s are always extremely deep and cryptic.

    Best thing about Tool is their ability to write and play in extremely fucked up time signatures and still sound smooth as an ocean. Not to mention they're usually all playing in a different time signature and just meeting back at the 16th or 32nd.
    Tool is just that band that makes your brain go "Pooof"

    • @nx266
      @nx266 5 лет назад +8

      You are absolutely correct and that is why Carey stands out. People don't do this in popular music because either they can't do it or can't make it sound good, but Tool does both. Even studio guys that get paid big bucks can't do these odd time signatures this flawlessly.

      I'd love it. Wings for Marie is one of their most powerful songs. Lateralus is my favorite but wings is up there.

    My daughter is 25, she’s been a Tool fan since birth. She has waited more than half her life for this album. Well worth the wait.
