GoPro Max Snow Review // *Real World* Comparison 360 and hero mode!

- Its time for a real world review of my new GoPro Max. I took it to the slopes of Snowshoe West Virginia to see how the new GoPro would perform. I also picked up the new GoPro Max selfie stick (and compared it to my Insta360 One X). I thought it would be helpful to try to shoot the whole video with the max to show you guys how it can handle some pretty tricky audio and video situations in both 360 mode (both lenses) and hero mode (only using one lens). I also tested out the battery life in sub freezing conditions.

in most videos, I saw a lot of videos that have a problem with the selfie stick.
I mean, when you use it and it CUT your hand a bit
so in this video I haven't seen any problem with that. So, I wonder how could you do that?
I didnt do anything differently so Im not sure. But I will say I dont like the selfie stick and Im going to try out my insta360 stick and see how that works (its a smaller diamter and longer)
He was recording a lot of it in hero mode so you won't see the cutoff cuz only 1 camera is working. From 4:30 to 4:50 you can see a bit of the stitching. If you extend the bar out further it will be less noticable.
He use black hand gloves which make the stitching seamless
Great video man I just finished watching your e bike video and I'm thinking about buying a e bike off from rade power bike n find the best bike on there cuz iv seen so many people in my country riding bikes n one wheels n electric scooter's on the trails there so cool!:)

thorough review thanks! how does the battery hold up in the cold?
it did great, lasted the whole time i was skiing, over an hour and never shut down due to cold.
How are you feeling about it after owning it for a bit?
Honestly I haven’t been able to use it a whole bunch yet, been busy with work. I still think I like it better than the new insta camera bc it’s all in one camera. The main thing I wish any camera would do was work with rode to integrate a wireless mic. Maybe one day 😃

I started off in the grass, its harder to learn but softer to fall :) Ideally have someone next to you or a handrail or something the first few times. Master the 2 footed jump off, when you get tired it can be hard to do simple stop or the heal stop so knowing how to bail is really important. Then just work parking lots, sidewalks and slowly get more comfortable and have a blast!

Did you use an external battery or multiple batteries when you went? I got the max for an upcoming skiing trip and Wondering if I'll need an external pack or something.
I just used one battery and got about a little over an hour of filming time, mostly hero mode but a few 360 shots. I also kept it in my jacket pocket when I wasnt using it. I had a power brick with me to charge it if it died but it made it my whole ski day.

I have NO CLUE how I have never been to The Waffle Cabin. I've been there like 6 times. I'm usually trying to get in like 45 runs. 🤣😂 Man I didn't wanna buy another GoPro. I was happy with the Insta, but the audio alone might be worth it, and then Hero Mode. And that Dual Snowboard thing?!?! WHAT?!?
Yea I really like just having one camera that does it all. Not perfect but it’s just one. Omg I want the waffle cabin now!
I have the max to for snowboarding. My cam have problems when it is cold. The max do not start in the quik caputure mode. Do you have the same problems? But it was not so cold, zero maybe one plus.
Well I have never used the quick capture mode but it was only zero c for me about. But no issues at all...
I'm not a big fan of the fisheye look, will it defish and still work in 360 mode?
Oh yea for sure. U can make it it whatever aspect ratio you want. I just zoomed out to show the possibility. You can reframe the 360 image into any 1080p 16:9 view that you want. It’s pretty cool
Can you control the touch screen with gloves on? or maybe by the physical controls?
Well my gloves suck and I can’t even use my phone with them but I would image any new gloves with the finger thing would work. There are physical buttons u can use to change between 360 mode and hero mode etc tho
@@JohnDDyer let's say my gloves are not touch. m I able to open the camera, switch to 360 mode, and start recording using the physical button only?

Def has some planned but I think I’ve got footage overload lol. We went on a big trip up to maine but I just have too much footage and it’s overwhelming lol

So for snowboarding, one X or Max?
I like the max bc its waterproof, but you can get a housing for the one x and then you get slow motion too, but for me it would be max bc its a little more well rounded.
Still don't like the stitching on the Max hence why I went with the Insta360 One X (for Onewheeling). Mics audio is pretty impressive but I don't need it :) Keep up the great work
