Tons of useful information in this video for those new to GoPro or filming in general, especially the bit about shorter clips and getting low to the action. Thank you!
“You actually did something cool”. Dude, I literally laughed out loud when you said that. My kids always want to use the GoPro and that is my one rule for them to use it. You have to do something cool. Thank you for making this video. It was helpful as I am new to making videos.
I really love the start of this the video - "a lot of people buy a GoPro and think everythink looks like this ..., but really it looks like this ..." :) Thanks for the great tips. Definitely I will follow you
great video bud. really liked the way you presented the content. Hope youtube algorithm will be nice to you soon. Looking forward to future videos and tips
Hi Russell, I've just launched a GoPro filming and editing course and am looking to offer it to select people at a discount in exchange for feedback to help improve the course and learn what additional information could be helpful. Let me know if this would interest you and I can send you more info!
yea that with the music is a good idea, I always tend to make too long clips too and film like a whole run down (mostly also because I like watching it later) but to put it in a video of the whole ski trip its too long. So you recommend to pick a soundtrack and have the video be as long as the soundtrack and have short clips with varied angles (I also love putting timewarps in) that are not longer than 5 seconds and change on a beat?
The big backpacks are for backcountry skiing or snowboarding. You need to keep avalanche gear, food and extra clothing and water when you go out in the backcountry!
Hi Steve, I get my info from Artlist.io. It's a paid subscription and gives you lots of options for royalty free music. Hey Craig, get a handle bar mount for you mountain bike or get a wrist strap mount that swivels for rock climbing. For sking you can also get a mount that goes on your pole. You then hold out your 1 pole in front of you when you want to get the shot. I don't use the GoPro app for editing. It's OK but not my favouite. If you're on a mac imovie is an entry level software that's decent. If you want more tips, I do have a course that goes over all the software and tricks I use on making my videos. @@Movesmedia Thanks much appreciated. I just spent 2 days wasted on GoPro Support with Maria who stated I'm using the "Wrong App" and and that GoPro Quik is only for Hero 9 and 10? I've finally worked out how to get to the edit and labels for the telemetry data having made sure my GPS was active for the last 2 days at Whistler and Final Sunday at Cypress Mountain (I WISH THEY'D EXTEND) But when I click on the speedometer label it says 'No GPS Data' But I've followed all the steps?
Hello, i have problem viewing my videos in my computer.. when i transfer my videos from gp10 inyo my computer only media sounds played but the screen blocked out. Is there any other can fix this
Hi I’m looking to buy my first action camera for traveling. Do you have any recommendations if I decided to go with a GoPro which model would be a good start?
Hey, I'd suggest any gopro from the 7 and up. If you're new to making videos any camera is a good start. Most of the features of newer cameras are for people with a bit of experience so I wouldn't be too worried about the latest model. That said, if you plan to learn and keep making videos it's never a bad idea to go with something new. You'll grow into it and resale value will be higher than older models. Hope that helps!
1. Dial up your settings
2. Stay close to the action
3. Play with the angles
4. Keep your clip shorts
5. It's an Action Camera!
This is really professional!! Really deserve more views
Thanks Thomas!
@Troy Paxton f*cking bots why would you hack your girlfriends facebook account?

Awesome info
Hi. This is a very helpful video.
I noticed that GoPro is mounted on your ski pole. How to mount GoPro to the ski poles handle?
I got a 1/4 inch screw and screwed it into the top of my pole. Then put a gopro mount on to of that! It's great for skiing.
just bought a 10 and leaving for Paris in April, would love more tips and travel filming and what to edit with on a MacBook air

You got it! Give that a try and I'm sure you and others will enjoy your videos way more. Time warps are great too but keep them short!
thank you for the tips man, the last part about gopro not recommended for cinematography, I’ll take that as a challenge 😅 and try it anyways
Haha I like it. Always push the status quo!
Great video and Great tips!
bro, the first 15 seconds of the video was so relatable
Haha, that was me 100% when I got my first GoPro!
I`m really wandering , what snowboarders or skiers caring on those giant rucksacks ???? :)))
They look so big and so heavy for a day outside .

Where do you get your music from? How can I add music without a copyright violation. Thanks. Great video by the way.

Can't use a selfie stick skiing Mt biking or rock climbing -tips? Also to edit on the laptop do you use the Gopro app or?

For close action shots which lens do you recommend? Wide lens or macro?
@@EkramHoque-n5l wide 100%!
Adobe Premiere Got it....but how about telemetry data can you set speed clocks?
Unfortunately that doesn't transfer. You'd need to bake it into the footage using the GoPro Quick app.
Ha ha ha that first part is so accurate
What's the editing program you're using? Can you access the telemetry data from the Go Pro saved file?
I'm using premiere pro. You can't access telemetry data. To do that you need to bake it into the export from the GoPro app.

Any tips on filming rock climbing?? All my rock climbing videos suck!! I'd like to use a selfie stick but i need my hands to live. LoL

Do you use or would you recommend or discommend a protective housing for the gopro hero 8? Thanks
Hey! I wouldn't use a housing for the 8. Only reason I would maybe use one is if you want to try get more battery life in cold Temps.
@@Movesmedia ok, thanks for the fast response!
OMG amazing
Good!
What editing program do you use?
Premiere Pro here are some tips for editing with Premiere: ruclips.net/video/_cz0wCuAHIw/видео.html
