I am so thrilled to have found your videos. I've been a quilter for many years, taking a break here and there. Your videos will take my quilting experience to the next level. I was looking for instructions for setting squares, triangles, and corners for a quilt I'm currently working on. I started on Great Basics 5. After I finish I will review your videos from the start. Thank you Janet from Murrieta Ca.
Your teaching is awesome... so glad I found you! And I love your comments about measuring and seeing differences in measurements! Makes me feel more positive about my quilting attempts!!
I am pretty much “self taught”.. if you want to call it that...by RUclips and any other videos I can find. I never waste my time when I watch your videos. Thank you for caring about the quilting community and know you have so much to offer. Thank you!
Hi from greater Nashville area. Driven to finish quilt pieces left from my Great Grandmother. Threaded her needle when I was a child. Have made four quilts on my Singer but gave myself a Brother machine for retirement. Plenty of time to practice. This lesson was just what I needed today. Thanks.
Thank you so much for doing a detailed step by step video. Other 10 minute videos on you tube leave you confused, and they say do the quilt any way you want. I like that you teach us to quilt with the traditional methods that really work, not make up as you go along. Great Video!!!
Oh, how I wish this video was around when I started quilting. Could have saved a lot of frustration, seam ripping 😮 and learning the hard way. I like nest and precise sewing and really enjoy your teaching style. Planning to binge watch every video in this series! --With appreciation from Las Vegas.
As an ever learning individual, your explanation and technique has been a God send! This technique will alleviate the "wavy" edges. Preparation is key and this technique is the best I've seen! Thank you so very much! I've repurposes my walking weights to help me with holding fabric and/or rulers.
I am so pleased with this tutorial. I am making a Cinderella panel by Thomas Kincaid. I like to make them as hanging quilts. I am self taught through RUclips tutorials. This tutorial helped me so much with putting the corner stones in the border. Now I am eager to go back and look at all of your tutorials. Thank you and yes you are a wonderful teacher! Robbin from Fairmont, NC
I'm so glad I found you when I did. I've power watched many of your videos and refer back to some when needed. I'm from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and no one in my family has quilted since my great grandmother that past away when I was a child. So everything I'm learning is from the ladies and gentlemen of RUclips. I'm working on my very first quilt and having to break it down into quilting the center first then adding the borders. I'm using my domestic Brother and the quilt will end up being a queen. Thank you very much for doing the videos. They are so helpful. 😊
@@QuiltingWithNancy Yes. I've missed a few videos but will be watching them later today. I've been spending time with my 84 year old mother the last few weeks. She is moving in with my daughter and son in law.soon.
I just found your channel this morning. I love piecing my quilts but always put off adding the borders. I really enjoyed this episode and will use your method on trimming and adding my borders. I’m now a subscriber from the beautiful state of Maryland. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. 😊
Just in time. Will soon be sewing in the triangles on a queen size on point quilt, and then on to the borders. People like you are so generous with your knowledge to "lone" newbies like me. Thank you.
Thank you!! I think you are the only one to describe and show to ease the borders. I’m not sure you explained why. I guess I’ll go watch again. I was told it was important. When long arm quilter refused to do quilts that were not eased to the same dimension. She said she could not do quality work otherwise.
Hi - if you do the measuring like I do in the video and pin, pin, pin and pin the border on, it will be eased and then your borders will be the same on either side :)
I just love your channel! I always learn something new! I am a lone quilter so the online community is my lifeline. I can’t stress enough how informative your channel has been! Thank you sew much for sharing!
@@SuperBeccajean it’s a great channel! Nancy is so fun and informative. These types of channels are a lifeline for us lone quilters! I just used your technique of going point to point on the edge of my churn dash quilt top I am making and it worked great - so glad you made a point of using a 12" ruler as I could see how you could easily be tempted to do a longer distance. Saw your video just in time as I wasn't sure how to attack it and this worked out great - thanks so much - your videos are so very helpful!!

I am an absolute newbie trying to learn to quilt on my own. These videos are like having a teacher right with me. I tried just using a book but the videos are a lifeline for me. I am watching from Atlanta, Georgia.
I am from nearby Valley Forge, PA. I have learned so much from your programming. Today's episode of using the smaller ruler to cut 1/4" away from the points of the edges makes perfect sense. I cannot tell you how many cut off points I've tolerated. Done is better than perfect was once my idea too. But now I can do better.
Enjoying this series from Ann Arbor, Michigan. I love the pace and the precision. The techniques are wonderful. As a beginner, I would love to establish good habits. Thanks.
Hi Nancy! I’m loving this version for teaching beginners to make such a cute quilt! I have two friends who are interested in learning, one who knows how to use her machine, but doesn’t have any quilting experience, and one who doesn’t have knowledge of either. This series is perfect for them. I continue to share this series hoping to gain some new quilting friends! 🙂

Thank you so much for your very informative and clear videos. I have learned all I know about quilting from such videos and yours are the best. I do have a request for a video on how to make a patchwork border, and how to prepare it for attaching to the quilt and tips on doing it. I have a patchwork border but am not sure it will fit neatly and don't know whether I should starch it or just keep it stretchy so I can make it fit. Watching someone do this would be great. Thanks again.
Hi Ragath :) Thanks for the kind works and for watching! Doing a pieced boarder is a very specific task depending on the border and the quilt center. Spray sizing it will ALWAY be a good idea through. Sometimes you might even need to add an inner border to make the quilt center the correct size.
I'm so impressed with your knowledge, techniques, and explanations. Everything you do makes so much sense. I continue to learn from you each episode. Thank you so much! And I love the stripes!!

Hi :) - the "scant" is what allows the fabric to be pressed over the thread and keep the construction accurate. In garment making this tiny bit isn't an issue but in quilt piecing where many blocks with seams need to all come together to make the blocks the correct size it is necessary. Hope this helps - Nancy
