If my quilt top isn't completely square before I add the borders, I will either take in a seam here and there or let it out. This, of course, depends on the pattern, and if it will show up. I can usually ease the top into the borders if there is less than an inch difference, I always cut the two opposite borders the same length, so that I end up with a squared top to make the longarm happy.
