I would buy a seasonal cookbook from you in a HEARTBEAT! So helpful to learn from you how to cook seasonally for a family!
I second this!!
My uncle Jim, who is a chef at Sam’s seafood in Long Beach many years ago, taught us to thaw meat and cold water with salt in it. Just just just a thought.
Currently sitting in a chair with a heated blanket while the littles play and I’m trying to meal plan before a winter storm rolls in so good timing for me to see this. 🥰
Same here!! 😄
Same- heated blanket... and planning ahead! I'm in MA!
@@rkreda1 gotta love the heated blanket in the winter ❤️ nothing cozier!
Lisa, I turn on your videos just for motivation to be motivated to not tire from mundane of routine of homecare & cooking and prepping and to thrive in it instead.
Lisa, i loved hearing the kids in the background when you were getting the meat out of the instant pot. That brought me some joy this morning, thank you❤
Yes ❤ I agree too
I was always told to thaw frozen meat out with cold water & not warm or hot. Which way is correct?
Your food always looks delicious better than any restrurant & more delicious. Luke knows how lucky he is & soneday the kids will also, As a kid in the 50's ( on my brother & I) we ate it until it was gone, even if it took 2 or 4 days to eat it up. Never said we didn't like it,, mom didn't run a restaurant.
The food safety standard is to use cold water. With warm water, the outer layer of meat will rise above the safe temperature too fast, while the center is not thawed. When I was in the fast-food restaurant business we rounded numbers off. So, for me, the safe temperature for meat is 40 or below. I think technically it is 42 degrees, but 40 to 120 as the unsafe zone is easy to remember. This is why it's also recommended to not put frozen meat in the slow cooker. Of course, I think that we've all probably eaten meals that didn't conform to these ‘rules’ and were just fine. This is really just an FYI.
yes, I agree ❤️
I'm so excited you made butter chicken 😊❤ as an Indian this made me so happy 😄 in India we call it garam masala ( no extra r in masala). There r many Indian breakfasts that are very nutritious you should try them.
As an Indian Iam so happy to see that you cooked butter chicken❤❤❤lots of love from India🎉😊😊 Expecting more Indian recipes in your vlogs Dear ❤❤❤
Korean rice bowls are amazing with ground pork too:) I also always roast veggies as an additional topper. The best is cabbage, red peppers, and mushrooms:)
Another recipe with ground beef is moussaka . Layers of thinly sliced potatoes and ground beef and onions seasoned. Bake on 400F for 20 minutes then whisk some eggs with cream and seasoning and pour over and finish baking uncovered for additional 15-20 minutes. You can put some dry parsley on top❤
Sounds great!
Congrats to your daughter on getting her driving permit! Truly one of the most scary things about being a parent. But they figure it out and somehow we get through it with lots of prayer. 🙏❤️
Youre my favorite homestead to watch. The kids, the beautiful house that isnt always perfect, the measuring that isnt perfect, the delicious food, the homebirths, its all my favorite. Ive been a SAHM trying to learn for about 18 months and youve helped me so much more than youll ever know. Thanks for having a channel full of grace and reality. Youre the bomb ❤❤❤
I click a "like" on this before even watching, I know I'm in for a good cozy homemaking video!
Same ❤
Same!
Wow! Such a blessing to have a mom that cooks meals like this. This was great Lisa. Ty so much.
Lisa I love love love your content. It is so wholesome and real . Keep the videos coming. I admire you and your ability to feed a large family and stay sane !!
I so enjoy your videos, and would love to have more! I'm not one for podcasts often, love to see cooking and family things, so your videos really fill my homemaking cup!
I love the simplicity of your cooking and all your tips I’m so grateful to watch you and feel I’m part of your virtual family. I hope you and and yours had a wonderful New Year’s 🎉 God’s blessings be with all of you. ♥️
That shrimp boil looked so good Lisa! Congratulations to your daughter on getting her permit that day! I went through that twice, I have 2 boys, it's a part of turning into young adulthood! Thank you for sharing this video with us Lisa! Happy New Year to you all! 🎉🎉
Your food always looks delicious! God bless your entire family! 😀❤️
I could watch these every day! Thank you for documenting all of this. So relaxing. I also loved the extra touch of adding the kids voices in during a clip -- felt very homey.
So nice to see your children helping in the kitchen. They will be well equipped! ❤️🙏🏻Val C
Love all your meal ideas!! One way that I love to use my roast cuts is to put it in a crock pot, pour a bottle of ranch over it (I like the primal kitchen ranch), sprinkle some pepperoncinis on top, salt, pepper, and I typically throw on a packet of the garden ranch seasoning from thrive market. It’s SO good. The best way to make roast in my opinion.
I like how you cook in a relaxed way. Therapeutic to watch😊 also you trying out an Indian butter chicken was really cute 😍
Its snowing here in the Adirondacks this morning, and coming in from barn chores I was listening to your latest podcast with Tidbits & Co, and mulling over my meal ideas for the day. Any and all food ideas are SO welcomed lol!! I've been cooking from scratch ( for my hubs and 4 kids) all my life (and my mom before me and her mom etc.) Eating out is just something we literally never do. Keep those ideas coming, Lisa!! I love (*neeed*) them!! ❤
Thanks for the video!
Love how you share your collected house and how it's always changing to fit your family's needs.
I wonder if you would love some sort of cabinet in that spot between the window and the fridge? Maybe something antique and wood-tone, to bring some warmth, that would mount on the wall in order to give you more storage in your busy kitchen!?
Great ideas for meal planning. Plus looks delicious! Thank you for sharing!
I love Bullgogi! The first time I ever had Bullgogi was when I was stationed in Pusan South Korea. I was in the army in 1987. I have learned to make this very delicious dish. I take it to my Prayer Group. Everyone loves it. I’m happy you found this recipe for you and your family.
Lisa, great recipe choices this week!! Thank you for sharing!!
You inspire me as a young Mom so much, thank you Lisa!
Delicious looking meals! Loved hearing the kiddos in the background!
Enjoy your videos! I’ve been inspired to restart sourdough baking…thank you. The Korean beef bowls are such a great recipe. My family enjoys adding fresh cucumber slices to the bowl for crunch and shredded carrots soaked in rice vinegar. The slight pickled carrots are a perfect acidic touch to the recipe. So many different creative toppings for such a good basic recipe.
I love to see your daughter helping out in the kitchen etc😊
Always love new recipe ideas.
One of my favourite simple fround meat recipes is make an omelet. brown the meat with onions and garlic and what ever seasoning you want. When it's browned pour in beaten eggs and let set. good with bread or over rice.
Yay! I'm excited to see you try more Asian inspired meals. I love using minced meat like that too!
You make all of these yummy dishes effortlessly! I love that your kids like all kinds of spices.😊
You definitely have this cooking/ baking down to a science! Lots of delicious food! God bless you and your family.
Thank you so much
I love to watch you cook, you make it look so easy!!! I would eat everything you make, it looks so delicious!!! The baby is getting so big and your daughter will be driving !!!! Thanks Lisa for a great video !!!!
Shrimp boil is so good. Thanks for sharing these wonderful tips!
Also I make your pot pie every week as we. My family loves it. I actually use mostly your recipes for most meals!
Can we get more grocery haul videos?! I love seeing your azure, thrive or grocery store hauls!! 😊
Instant Pot butter chicken is one of my go-to dinners! And you can put the boneless skinless chicken in FROZEN, just add a couple of extra minutes, which is one of my favorite things when I've forgotten to pull meat from the freezer. Korean beef rice bowls is another go-to around here. Sometimes I saute some quick veggies to go on top, sometimes we just eat the beef, rice and top with the green onions. So good.
Your work at home is remarkable! Wow your food looks amazing! 😍💜. Your family is well cared for💜.
Happy New Year Lisa. May 2024 brings amazing Blessings to you and the Family.
Thank you!
This was a particularly nutritious and delicious video. Happy New Year! 😊
Ar first when I saw Johannah standing there I thought it was you Lisa. Thanks for sharing. 😊

Patricia

Just commenting on a random video to say thank you for simplifying sourdough for me. I now find myself much more relaxed with my starter and bread and i’m enjoying it a lot more. 😘

Thank you so much 🤗
HAPPY NEW YEAR Lisa, family, and fur babies. Thanks for sharing your homemaking heart and recipes. STTB
You are so welcome!
I discovered your site not long ago. I don't live on a farm & never have but I like farm houses & somethings that go along with farms. Your place is so pretty & your cooking is phenomenal. I am 76 & live alone (widowed 7 yrs ago). I like to watch other people cook & do things around their homes. Your family is lovely. & your farm is so beautiful. I look forward to spending many evening hours watching all your videos that I have missed up to now.
Awesome! Thank you!
Just enjoyed this viseo while folding laundry lol I got a mill for Christmas & have been experimenting with it! I listened to the podcast about milling your own flour but still would like to see tips on this & what to expect differently when baking bread.
Beautiful video! I appreciate the meal ideas. New mamma here struggling through first trimester. Meals have been hard to pull together, but these meals look delicious.❤️
You got this!
I used to batch cook like you and then found out how much histamines multiply within hours of saving leftovers and exponentially with time. I’m trying to fresh cook as much as I can now that I know how much that happens. It’s no little amount so I’m frustrated but watching your videos made me see you cook fresh meals for lunch and that has really encouraged me to do that. I was notorious for double cooking dinner to have lunch the next day but one of my sons developed psoriasis and one daughter was complaining about tummy aches a lot. It’s helped a lot but you have encouraged me greatly to cook lunch fresh and I only have 5 kiddos. 😉
Hey Lisa, a pair of sharp kitchen shears are really nice for cutting down the backbone of a chicken. Makes it a lot easier/safer! Thanks for the great video.
Is there a sharp brand you like?
So glad to see a video this morning while I'm up early making bread, your sourdough brownies and a pot roast to take over to a friend who is postpartum!
You’re a good friend. God bless you.
Wow, she is a lucky girl to get all of that homemade food from you! 😊
Another wonderful show! The shrimp boil was a great idea! Is the corn frozen? What great eaters you have!
I love that you made several meals in one day so that way you can rest a bit on other days. I haven't owned an instant pot in over a decade. I got one for my bridal shower when I was 20 (20 years ago) but used it once. I think lately it would be helpful, but then I realize I am not much for a slow cooking person. I can understand your annoyance at being excited to get a bigger instant pot but already having the smaller one's pieces.
You’re so creative with what you come up with to cook. I always use recipe books for ideas/guidanxe.
Lisa I’m excited to tell you I started my sour dough Saturday!!!! You’ve inspired me so much! Thank you!
You got this!
All the meals look delicious. I greatly enjoy your videos. Great recipes thanks 😊
Thanks so much! 😊

Hi Lisa, just made your chicken pot pie with long fermented sourdough biscuits. Oh my gosh it’s so delicious!!! Its pouring rain outside and it’s the perfect recipe for today. Just want to thank you again for getting me into sourdough. It’s been life-changing!!
So glad to hear that!
Literally spent all day trying to find good meal ideas and right as im about to quit and call it a night, this pops up 🙌🏻🙌🏻
One of my favourite RUclipsrs/ bloggers 🥰🥰 keep these beautiful videos coming!!
Thank you! Will do!
This video was perfect. I’m leaving for the weekend and it’s rare that I leave my family. Maybe once a year if that. I’m watching this as I prepare food for them. ❤

Beautiful country little 👍🏼
Good morning. It may be more cost effective to buy the smaller instant pot. I am seeing them on sale at target for $79. It will cost more for the additional equipment for the larger instant pot. Thank you for sharing your life with us on You Tube. Have a great day!
Enjoyed this video very much! Happy New Year! 🎉 xo
Loved this video, especially the shrimp boil!
Lisa, can you tell us a little about your ritual of lighting a candle on the stovetop? It's such a lovely, cozy addition to your "homework."
Thank you for your channel. Body doubling with these videos has motivated me to just keep going lately.
Nothing to the candle except that I enjoy the cozy warm glow from it....
hey girl- such yummy recipes!! 😃😉 Happy New Year! Have a blessed weekend🥰
Thank you! You too!
Thank you for sharing i'm going to try your recipes
For ground beef>>>Hamburger gravy over potatoes, served with dill pickles and raw onion on the side. Poor folk food. Love it.
😮 this is amazing
I discovered Korean Beef a couple years ago and it certainly is one of our favorites. This video was so delicious! 😁
Beautiful !!!love all your incredible delicious recipes and so fun to see you at Laura's 💝💝💝Happy new year
Happy new year!!
Shrimp boil also called Frogmore Stew. Yum!
Thank you very much for sharing with us this 😊educational😊 video. It very useful. You make it clear and very well told.
Glad it was helpful!
I am always forgetting the thaw meat and I recently learned how to cook a whole roast chicken from frozen! 350x90 minutes then 425 for an additional 15-30 minutes or until it’s reaches 165 all over. So tasty!
Love it. Great meal prepping.
Wow so happy for a sourdough naan recipe because butter chicken is in our rotation too!! So much better with thighs though 🤤 You guys should try Korean marinaded eggs. So easy and yummy. It's now my go to snack (on top of rice w/ veggies you can almost make it a meal)
Great video!! Thank you for sharing your recipes 😊
My pleasure 😊
Theses all look amazing!
14, just finished the process for making a sourdough starter and I excited seeing all of the foods I can make.
I have a whole bunch of sourdough recipes on my blog...FarmhouseonBoone.com
I love Thrive Market's clearance and deals. I always look there first. I was actually listening to this video as I was making chicken pot pie filling. I thought it was funny when I heard that part come up in the video as I was making my roux. I "meal plan" by making 3-4 meals for the week and have veggies that Ive home-canned and in steamer bags in the freezer. I also make a big batch of rice or quinoa and either seasoned potatoes baked in the oven or mashed potatoes to go with whatever I prepare.
We call our Korean beef rice bowls "bulgogi bowls" - looks almost identical to yours but we also add carrots, cucumbers, and kimchi. Delish.
“Damn Delicious” has a great blog for recipes (which looks like where you got the Korean beef). Pretty much any of her recipes are a hit in our house
I was just thinking this looks exactly like our korean beef recipe we do. We found the recipe many years ago. Since then I have used it with Canadian goose that I cut up really really thin and fine ( almost like a ground meat). It tastes really good that way if anyone else has a husband who hunts wild geese ;) But remember not to cook it too long and use low heat or else you won’t be able to eat it; it’s a good meat but doesn’t need to be cooked long.
Oh and it goes well with quinoa too!
Hello, to thaw meat quickly place frozen meat in a steel pot with very cold water. Meat will thaw with in an hour.
Im inlove with the product on the walls etc.
Love your content, just subscribed to your channel! I'm from Northern England in UK ❤
Awesome! Thank you!
Just found you as I received some sourdough starter from my niece at Thanksgiving and had no idea what to do with it. I was gone for a week after Christmas and found you as I wanted to know how to keep and use a sourdough starter that wasn't "fresh". I'm not in your analytic majority...I'm over 50 and I am very thankful for the video I found and used to make my first loaves of bread. I am now more relaxed knowing I don't have to"babysit" this starter and using the discards. requested your ecookbook and look forward to reviewing. Thank you.
You will do great...it is easier than you think.
Korean beef bowls are a favorite of mine too. Egg roll in a bowl I make a lot with ground chicken or turkey. Mae Ploy is amazing on the korean beef bowls 🤤
There’s a viral yogurt + flour (plus leavening I think) that is so so so so good. Lisa. Unless it turns u off because it doesn’t take sd- try it! For a fast flatbread it is amaaaaaaaaaazing.
I just made your chicken pot pie with einkorn biscuits for my family and we all loved it!!! Absolute winter comfort food😃
Wonderful!
