... I will always think of Paul when I think of Iron Maiden... I was pre-teen and just started getting into music... The first time I heard Maiden I was hooked!!... Many nights drinking beer in the woods with friends beside a nice fire and cranking Iron Maiden 👍... Around the very early 1990s a dude I worked with was in a band and invited me to come see his band play at a small club in Sailsbury, Massachusettes... I only found out when I got there that his band was opening for Paul D’Anno !!... The name of Paul’s band at the time was something like Paul D’Annos’ Killers, or something close to that... They were absolutely fuggn awesome and sounded great!!!.. I got to meet everyone in both bands after the show and hang out and party for a little bit...I can’t begin to say how awesome it was to get to see him in a small venue, and to then hang out after the show, with someone who I admired so much growing up and had such a big influence on me with music, and who’s music help drive me... I still get pumped thinking about that night... My Buddy that invited me knew I was a huge Maiden fan and also knew I’d be more than excited about seeing and meeting Paul and the band... He purposefully never mentioned anything about it... Man do I miss those years of my life... I wouldn’t change any of it... Hot chicks, muscle cars, and Iron Maiden👍... He did play many Maiden songs, if not every song from Killers... I remember it felt like living in a dream or didn’t even seem real at certain times during that night... I would not trade any of it for anything....
In my opinion, as a psychologist..after the SoundHouse Tapes and his departure in 1981, he was in real pain. Look the change gesture on his face. He was in pain. He couldnt face the presion and the responsabilities on the big scene. That leads to the drug abuse.
My dad preferred Paul to Bruce, I was more into the guitars and drums, I really liked Clive Burr's playing but it was Nicko McBrain who became my favourite member of the group and inspired me to quit guitar (TBF I wasn't very good at it anyway) and learn to play the drums.

2:20 End Sequence
(PD: This in the Description)
Its To bad in away , and I am sure he would even admit this himself. He became more into living the lifestyle than the music. And Bruce was proved that he deserved to be the bands new front man. If Paul had stayed clean who knows what kind of beast Maiden would have become. Because he could sure sing.
Paul ruined his career with drugs he had looks a great voice and still does you see him today he looks like king kong bundy he wasted it all he can still sing but he's a shell of what he was in 1980
And I agree Bruce was a stable force for maiden paul with his issues would've held them back
Look at the other members steve adrian Davey they've gained some weight but not 150 pnds for crying out loud!!
I like how he just started to fuse into Tony Martin in 87 lmao
Best maiden vocalist
In a few days or so, Ale Yanok will reach his goal.
It’s looking like it’ll be today.

Love those first 2 maiden albums the best
believe me or not i preferred the early punk metal maidens with di'anno. i preferred by a mile his voice.
Comparing Paul’s vocals to Bruce’s, I can agree with your dad that Paul’s is a little better in my opinion.
Paul is Original Singer of Iron Maiden.
RIP his 2 iron maiden albums=Blaze Bailey repeat sucess problem
By the way, he has not retired, he has just toured Brazil last month (although he is singing in a wheelchair...)
Rock in heaven man

There is a song and video called women in uniform that Paul sings on the Iron Maiden video from there to eternity but the song isn't on any Maiden albums .Does anybody know the history of the song and why it's on the video but no albums?
It's a cover and it was a single

Believe-it-or-else but my favorite-ever Maiden LP id "Killers" (1981) with Di'Anno! ( I was one of America's first Maiden fans- I bought "Killers" when it was new and purchased their s/t debut only weeks later!)
