@@michaeldean7220 I dunno. I've seen Blaze do a bunch of them live, and they work fine. Even The Angel And The Gambler was fun to experience live. Maybe he has his moments, but he's RARELY come across as an asshole. More like the guy who knows how fortunate he is, and stays down to earth with his tongue super-glued to his cheek...
"Killers" is awesome as a song, it kicks ass. The downside is it reminds me of The Zodiac Killer, and like any serial killer you never know where or when they'll strike. They might be sitting next to you and you never know it.
Some people here thinks that Di'Anno was the best singer in Maiden. But he wasn't. Bruce Dickinson is the best singer. I know that Di'Anno was in Maiden, when they started getting bigger. But they truly exploded and became legendary, after Bruce joined the band. That's something Di'Anno could never have pulled off. Di'Anno would honestly have ruined Maiden and dragged them down with him. I'm so glad Di'Anno was fired and Bruce joined them instead.
Shirley is a yes man. Garbage producer and Harris shouldn’t be let anywhere near the console because his co-production skills are non-existent. Martin Birch demanded the best from Maiden and his albums show that. However many takes to get the result, none of this ‘record as live’ crap that they’ve been doing for the last 20 years.
@hexed33 He’s woeful. All the producers out there and they went for him. Unbelievable. They have three guitarists yet they all get lost in the mix. I know Martin Birch retired and has now sadly gone (RIP) but if he had still been producing the albums, they would have been infinitely better. Think if his production had been on the Blaze albums - Birch would have demanded multiple takes to get the vocals 100% and most likely have put in loads of harmonies too, to open up the songs. Same with the weak guitar sound. I think the best album post 2000 is Dance of Death, I would give anything to hear that produced by Birch.
@hexed33 Definitely - Seventh Son is fantastically produced. Although not my favourite Maiden album, I love the production on Fear Of The Dark too - perfect. Roy Z would have been a great choice - especially as he was known to the band through Dickinson. Hell, Dickinson got his mate Gers the Maiden gig so I’m sure Roy could have got in through being Bruce’s pal too. Having said that, I’ve just listened to the Dance Of Death album and I think the production on it is pretty good! Gates Of Tomorrow and New Frontier especially sound like classic 80s Maiden to me.
@hexed777 DOD has a bad production. Harris told Shirley to use a 24-bit 48 khz mock up version as the master as Harris preferred that one. Harris is out of his mind and has lost his hearing.
Martin Birch with Maiden was like Bob Rock with Metallica. But I have to admit that BNW is one of the best sounding Maiden albums ever, and it's produced by the Caveman.
@@ville85 I do not agree that BNW is the best sounding Maiden album. It is heavily compressed, but it is better than any Maiden post 2000. Caveman is pure garbage producer. Martin Birch was Maiden's man. Killers is among the best Maiden productions.

it was the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, sometime before you were born. Anyway... embarrassing... I was in a band called Samson and Iron Maiden, Iron Maiden was our support band that one evening. Well...
they blew us offstage and they played this one song and I'd never heard a metal band play a song like this before and this song really is everything that Iron Maiden is all about. I know that you understand it because you are the hardcore of Iron Maiden fans in all of Sweden. But I should warn anyone watching the television that thinks that any minute now they're going to turn over and Wimbledon is going to be on, or football that for the next eight minutes there may be something very strange going on with your television. And if you don't like heavy metal, I advise you to go away before you have a heart attack and die, alright?...The Phantom of the Opera!"
~Bruce Dickenson
I remember in 1985 listing to Number of the Beast. I was like 10 and seeing that tattoo on Steve Harris's arm and thinking man these are some bad dudes, he's gotta tat on his forearm. Nobody really had tattoos back then and teamed up with 666 in the lyrics. Man what a time to be a kid
Those first two albums are just CLASSIC stuff to me.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I learnt playing Rime Of The Ancient Mariner on drums at home during the lockdown. It’s such a great song to play.
Rime is the best track on the pin to me because if you are still playing at the end; you call look back at the other 3 players and smile. Your probably winning now. Pinball baby!
Prodigal Son! Yes!!!
The first two maiden albums are my favorites by them. I like the first five albums with Bruce as well. The new one is growing on me.
Best rock and best heavy metal band in history! Stones and Maiden! 🤘🎸🤘🎸
underrated band, to this day. One of the greatest shows a person could ever go see
Maiden underrated?
@@Stargazer-px7fw 100%
@@Dirtyirish Iron Maiden is one of the biggest metal bands of all time. The band has legions of fans all over the world and influenced countless other bands. So anything but underrated in my humble opinion 😁. Cheers :)

Love you guy's 🇬🇧👍👍👍
They've gotta do Twilight Zone again. That was absolutely one of the best songs for Bruce early on, imo, and I love the hell out of it!!! 😄🙂
its awesome i have an old German import record, with twilight zone on one side and wrath child on the other aside , from the early days of maiden
@@arnyarny77 That would be the Twilight Zone/Wrathchild double A-side. It's rare for one to own, these days. Twilight Zone hadn't been on the primary UK release of Killers.
@@chrismeadows4216 i know my brother bought it probably back in 83, i have it on my wall framed!
Paul sings twilight zone so much better than Bruce.
@@arnyarny77 I'm grateful that you've shared this. I feel that it's a prize to own physical copies of an artist's efforts.
I will Rock with Iron Maiden. 31. 07 and 01.08 2023 OLYMPIAHALLE München.
🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟💯❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yes killers, what a track.
Maiden has never played Prodigal Son live. I would love to hear Bruce sing that live.
if they dont have rime , Prisoner or stranger in there set i aint going.
They did prisoner in 2013, it was epic
I would love to know it there's any Blaze-era songs that Bruce would like to do that they haven't done in the past.
To be honest I think they have covered all the Blaze period songs that translate well live. It's sometimes forgotten that many of the songs from that period are just poor songs and not because Blaze sang them. The monstrosity that is The Angel and the Gambler is down to Steve.
@@michaeldean7220 I dunno. I've seen Blaze do a bunch of them live, and they work fine. Even The Angel And The Gambler was fun to experience live. Wouldn't necessarily want Bruce version of that one, but songs like The Edge of Darkness, When Two Worlds Collide, The Aftermath, The Unbeliever, Como Estais Amigos, or perhaps The Educated Fool would all make great additions to Maiden's set list.
@@ZealSeraph not sure I've ever heard a Maiden fan describe TAATG as fun!
@@michaeldean7220 I guess it's more accurate to say that Blaze's interactions with the band and the audience were more fun than the song itself. Even the poorest song can turn into a fun experience with some good showmanship, and we all know Bruce has that covered.
@@michaeldean7220 Yeah. Only songs I wanna hear from the Blaze era Maiden, are The Sign of the Cross and The Clansman. Both sung by Bruce of course.
Neglecting Rhyme of the ancient Mariner, thats almost criminal. Definatley gotta do that one more.
But it would ruin it if they did it all the time
Paul rocked it
Its really hard for me to even think of maiden before and after Paul as the same band. Paul and Bruce were just totally different in every way
We go to see and listen to Maiden. Period.
I agree with Bruce. Prodical son is the best Killers song, followed by Murders and Killers
i seem to recall seeing the paul di'anno band live at the town pump in vancouver in 1990-91, thereabouts. i assume it was a good show, i sorta remember i hurt like a motherfucker the next day, and that usually meant i enjoyed myself. i was a walking toxic chemical site in the early 90s, so if i "remember" it, it usually means i'm relating what someone else told me what they saw me doing.
🤘
I always like Children of the Damned.
I love "strange world" and whole first maiden album.
But nobody rescue " innocent exile" ( live in Japan) like a great song.
No mention of "Alexander The Great". I'm starting to wonder if they're afraid of that song or if there's a history behind it
Whelp, there's over 2300 years of history behind it so...
@@RushAss good mic drop...lol....I meant around the band and not the character portrayed in the song.
@@xiiistory I know I know, I always take an opportunity to make a wise crack ;) But yeah, I would LOVE to see them do Alexander. I actually prefer it over Mariner.
@@xiiistory They don't play it because of the whole political issue actually.
@@lived4adream sad.
Bruce’s picture in Samson @ 2:18 made me think of Key and Peele. 😂
heard maiden play prisoner in Ljubljana 2007. saddest thing i ever heard.
also my last maiden concert. what a let down that was :(
Would Bruce ever consider singing a duet with Sir Ian GILLAN?????
I have no problem with Shirley, although the new one does sound a bit rough. That said, I would love to hear Maiden work with Cameron Webb, who did the last 6 Motorhead albums. They could apparently be pretty intimidating to work with, but he pushed them to do better in the studio and it really showed, especially on Inferno.
I would say senjutsu sounds better than the last few albums production wise. Especially the drums. There's definitely more clarity.
I have to go nuts with eq settings for DoD, amolad and The final frontier to get them sounding any way normal.
Up the Iron's ! Up the WHU !
Paul era Maiden RULES!!!
xoxo The Clarences
The "Maiden Whisperer" is not a bad name to go by.
Bruce is mistaken here....Maiden were special guests to Samson only in 1980 so he couldn’t have seen them play Murders in the rue morgue....An early version of Killers maybe but not Murders.
In other interview he said that Phantom of the Opera was the first killer song by Maiden that blew him away watching them live
I think he's gotten too old and lost memory
Nothing can touch that first Maiden album. They were a force to be recond with! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Paul Dianno and Dennis Stratton! 🤘
Wait, this was an Eddie Trunk interview? He let someone speak without interrupting? Is he okay?
Probably because he was on the phone rather than in studio
Eddie Drunk
Sorry, I recognize everyone except the blonde guy between Steve and Dave... Help!
Thank you for that upload, i am a great fan of paul dianno, i met him in the flesh at the end of 1999 in tel-aviv, i was spending with him for some 20 minutes, he was very polite, so for me to see all those photos with paul dianno when he was young and fronting the iron maiden band is a big deal, i love bruce dickinson but for me the real iron maiden is the debut album and killers with paul dianno and clive burr, dennis stratton, who was replaced by adrian smith on the second album and dave murray, paul dianno was a great vocalist and was also a great frontman on stage, paul dianno was phenomenal, thanks.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alexander the Great!
New album: I think there is too much calm work in the songs, too many times the songs start and end in a slow rhythm. I miss the stronger metal, the metal the band had at the time.I know the album is good, very at a high technically demanding level, but honestly I was hoping for more.Maybe the boss doesn't want a return to the band's roots.I listning Maiden 30 years, and for mee they are one of the best band.Up the Irons
The albums have been that way since Fear of the dark.
Well duh! All of the bandmembers are over 60 years old now! Do you really think they would continue to make Powerslave 2.0 albums forever?!
where could ifind the whole interview?
Bruce sais he loves prodigal son.
Please Bruce and Steve go that way and compose songs like that and stop repeating the last albums again and again and again and again ....
Exactly
Prodigal Son 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Is it just me or does bruce look like bill oddie when he was in samson??
He looked like a thin Obelix there
Love Maiden, especially DiAnno, and Dickenson....Bruce always comes across as a guy you can shoot the shit with, and have a few shots. Maybe he has his moments, but he's RARELY come across as an asshole. More like the guy who knows how fortunate he is, and stays down to earth with his tongue super-glued to his cheek...
2:12 "Mustachio Bruce is not real, he cannot harm you."
The pornstache lmaoooo
MaidenFest, Bruce Paul and Blaze, bring back Dennis Stratton......
Denny wilcock aka eddy
"Killers" is awesome as a song, it kicks ass. The downside is it reminds me of The Zodiac Killer, and like any serial killer you never know where or when they'll strike. They might be sitting next to you and you never know it.
I'm in my home office in a locked house. Unless the Zodiac Killer was a teleporting invisible man, I'd know if he was sitting beside me.
@@jamesking9807 No, He's preparing his cryptogram to the police about how he's planning on doing you in.
That song actually bores me
Some people here thinks that Di'Anno was the best singer in Maiden.
Di'Anno looked pretty fuckin badass up there on stage too
Shirley is a yes man.
What a camp little thing Bruce is. Grease paint and drama. Funny.
I wish Steve could just bury the damn hatchet and invite Paul to sing some of the old songs for a tour or two. Bruce is great, but whenever he sings something off the first two records it's like listening to a cover.
One HUGE problem - Paul can't sing like what you'd want to hear. He abused himself. Forget about it!
The crowd would go wild. I can see it now. Paul would beam with proudness !
@@cjones3093 He still has a great voice, albeit he's always recorded live so drunk he doesn't seem to know what he's singing. He would have to clean up his act if they invited him back, probably a good thing.
@@cjones3093 He also can't really walk anymore, he has to sit down whenever performing so I don't think it's going to be the exciting reunion that some people think it would be.
