You can hear the 'Paul Di'Anno singing style' in Bruce's way of singing. He never sounded so aggressive or punk, not before, not ever after these recordings. Great to hear how he makes these songs his own, superb performance.
He's still kicking ass in November 2024. Saw him Saturday in Fort Worth and I honestly think he sounded better in that show than the two shows I saw in 2017 and 2019. He's still got it at 66. Amazing. Up the Irons y'all.

Too bad Bruce burnt out decades ago and is just dragging Maiden's legacy through the mud at this point. Pompous and uninspired come to mind when I think of anything Bruce has done this century. I guess Maiden fans are like Metallica fans at this point, slap a logo on it and they'll eat it up.
Adjusting the speed can be a way of RUclipsrs getting around copyright claims. Lot’s of video’s on YT where they’re slower or faster than the original. It’s also why in some video clips they might reverse the image etc.
This comes from a bootleg tape and there are always sound/speed problems. In recent times people have tried to fix this leading to just more confusion and problems. Anything recorded on a cassette is guaranteed to be off a bit.

Incredible how tight this band was in the rehearsal space ...many bands with pro tools and all modern technology at their disposal wouldn´t have a clue where to start emulating what I hear in this "rehearsal demo " (??!! ). This is fire ,won´t get much more Metal than this...1st saw them on the 7h tour of a 7th tour with Helloween opening -you might not believe it but there were still pretty strong residues of what I hear in this . Thanks for sharing ...priceless !

Yeah, punk is generally more stripped down and simplified in song structures, but heck so is AC/DC, and they're usually labeled metal or even just hard rock. Paul DiAnno was into punk rock before joining Iron Maiden. The other band members got him also listening to more metal-oriented bands like UFO. But I don't think he ever stopped liking punk bands like the Ramones, too. DiAnno's vocal style was definitely more on the punky side, very gruff and harsh (in a good way). That's probably what people are thinking of when they say that early Iron Maiden had a bit of a punk edge. But don't say that to Steve Harris if you ever get the chance to meet him. He does NOT like that description! 🤣

He definitely had a lot of attitude in his early days but I was surrounded by punk back in those days and Maiden weren't it. There's a reason Steve Harris doesn't agree with the comparisons, he doesn't hear it either...

Bruce was going to make absolutely sure that he got that job. He absolutely rocked it. It must have been a strange time in the band. You can almost hear the excitement in the rest of the band, but then having to go and do gigs with Paul , God rest his soul. 🙏 There must have been some awkward moments 😬
I always loved - and will love - Paul's vocals. But. It is interesting how "familiar" and "original" this sounds. I am so thankful Maiden found Bruce, tbh.

Been a Maiden fan since 82. And as much as I love Maiden's first two albums with Paul, I don't think Maiden would have become as big as they did if Bruce hadn't joined the band. Bruce's vocals took Maiden to another level.

One unique thing that I love about Maiden is each guitar player usually gets a solo in every song, and they’re completely different styles. Dave was super fast and smooth, while Adrian could always hit those memorable notes.

Achava que não dava pra ficar melhor que a interpretação de Paul, e não me entendam mal, esses discos realmente são a cara dele, mas ouvindo isso, minha opinião agora é que Killers seria tão genial ou mais com Bruce. Mas também percebi que Bruce usou uma interpretação bem macabra, não sei se é por influência do Paul, ou pela temática das letras.
I like both Bruce and Paul’s vocals. Both in remember tomorrow, but Bruce did it better in one part. In the part of “yesterday sorrows”, I felt Paul kinda rushed it a bit and the beat is a slower one. But, Bruce slowed it down a bit and fits better.
Each singer does their songs best and I can't imagine either of them doing the others better than they do themselves. Who do I like better? I'm undecided because I like the first four albums the best and would have a hard time picking one

His vibrato is strange for me to hear in these songs, given that Paul didn't have that. I like Paul's versions a little better but this is bad ass! And it all really started with Number of the Beast...Love Maiden! Truly amazing band and still to this fucking day!!!!💀☠️🤘🏻
I can imagine, the other guys in the band siting around the mix table with the sound engineers hearing in silence while being mesmerized by what they were witnessing.
Maiden was one of the first metal bands i played drums to, started with pop and disco music when i was 14-15 but after half a year it got to easy to play. After testing Jazz and classical music wich was harder but didnt have the energy i needed. Listening to Sweet album Desolation Boulevard and listening to the solo on man with the golden arm got me hooked. After that i bought some new records that just had come out and one of them was a maiden record and trying to master that music took me a while. Talking about the singers, i always fealt that Dianno had to little power live and couldnt sing anywhere near like the records so when Bruce took over i really thought it was better. The music itself is same though with the fantastic melodies and riffs. Those who disagree i respect, up the irons.
I think Bruce does a great job singing Dianno era songs. Off course nothing like the original but he does a great job. I can't say the same for Blaze era songs. He does ok/pretty good , not bad. Blaze voice and style is so different so I guess it must be hard.

Paul kicks ass, but for those who don't like Bruce due to his operatic tendencies, they need to hear that version of Killers, thats some young Hetfield stuff with better range, almost the perfect thrash singer. Just to add, Bruce is my favorite vocalist, just when he was younger, with that screaming, he could of fronted a killer thrash band, that was still a couple of years and some more brutal guitar playing away though

Bruce recorded his vocals over the original album recordings. It is a bit sped up for unknown reasons. It does create some extra energy.

His vibrato is strange for me to hear in these songs, given that Paul didn't have that. I like Paul's versions a little better but this is bad ass! And it all really started with Number of the Beast...Love Maiden! Truly amazing band and still to this fucking day!!!!💀☠️🤘🏻
I can imagine, the other guys in the band siting around the mix table with the sound engineers hearing in silence while being mesmerized by what they were witnessing.
I would like more Dickinson's Maiden era if he have singed this way at least on records

Maiden was one of the first metal bands i played drums to, started with pop and disco music when i was 14-15 but after half a year it got to easy to play. After testing Jazz and classical music wich was harder but didnt have the energy i needed. Listening to Sweet album Desolation Boulevard and listening to the solo on man with the golden arm got me hooked. After that i bought some new records that just had come out and one of them was a maiden record and trying to master that music took me a while. Talking about the singers, i always fealt that Dianno had to little power live and couldnt sing anywhere near like the records so when Bruce took over i really thought it was better. The music itself is same though with the fantastic melodies and riffs. Those who disagree i respect, up the irons.
Nice, I love the powerful sound. But for me these songs will always belong to Paul. Two different styles of singing. RIP Paul.

It’s sad how one of the best metal/rock stars has died at age 66 he was a great singer that left the band in ‘83 I think his name was Paul dianno

Close but it’s no DIANNO. Paul’s voice and attitude dominate those first two albums, they are his and cannot be done justice.

Killers is my favorite album. Not a bad demo. Dianno is a tough act to follow. Maiden was bleseed with both talented singers

I think Bruce does a great job singing Dianno era songs. Off course nothing like the original but he does a great job. I can't say the same for Blaze era songs. He does ok/pretty good , not bad. Blaze voice and style is so different so I guess it must be hard.
It sounds like this is pitched up; probably from speeding up the original recording. I’m curious as to how it sounds in the original key.

@@mioszalberski8473 Nicko did know them before that... and technically did play drums for them once in '82 for a (mimed) TV show- Clive was ill so Nick found an Eddie mask and filled in. an interesting note

Paul kicks ass, but for those who don't like Bruce due to his operatic tendencies, they need to hear that version of Killers, thats some young Hetfield stuff with better range, almost the perfect thrash singer. Just to add, Bruce is my favorite vocalist, just when he was younger, with that screaming, he could of fronted a killer thrash band, that was still a couple of years and some more brutal guitar playing away though
this version is playing way fast. I think that gives it that effect
