Powerslave and Somewhere in Time are the favorites for me, and Book of Souls and Final Frontier are ones I quite like even if they aren't up to the caliber of the classics. I'm usually flipping between all 4 of these for my favorite Maiden title track.
Fun Fact: The first Iron Maiden release was a 7" EP called The Soundhouse Tapes released in late 1979, which had earlier versions of the songs that would appear on the debut album like "Iron Maiden" & "Prowler" but "Invasion" ended up getting rerecorded as a B-side to the single "Women In Uniform" & later restructured & rewritten as "Invaders" from "The Number Of The Beast", The original pressing was limited to 5,000 copies and ended up becoming rare fetching I think $2,000-$3,000 or $1,000 im not too sure, but there are unofficial pressings of the EP that were also released on colored vinyl.
You are doing gods work here lol! Hey Bradley im sorry i havent been around but i will definitely become a regular on your streams. Anything i can do to support you and what you do. Rock on brotha
Dude I’ve been loving this series! Your commentary is engaging and interesting, so that even if I don’t agree with your opinion, it’s super fun to listen to
Doing the Blazed Bailey era and especially the making of "The X-Factor" album Steve Harris had a really dark period in his personal life. Death of parents, divorce and band struggles hence the darker theme of the album and I can speculate a lower energy put into it.
...if you listen on 1.25 speed ;p I mean songwriting is great but sadly Steve depression gave a mark on it. Nicko's drumming sounds like he was bored. It just sounds like Blaze is the only one who cared
Yes! The big weak point of that album is just how it's arranged. It starts out really strong (Lord of the Flies especially I feel is the most underrated Iron Maiden song of them all), but then there's three slow and somber songs about war, that together last 19 minutes and don't really feel connected to each other in any way. It bogs the whole album down and it never recovers. I did myself a different version of the album with better song order (also ditched couple and added one originally left out), and that made it so much better as a whole.
Just saw them live here in Argentina. They're rock solid as always and every band member is like 70 y old. It's insane. Just told my friends last night that I think Maiden is probably the most regular (stable in time) performant bands ever. They've never really had lows, dramas or breakups. Something truly rare to see in rock / metal. They're just legends. It's worth every penny and much more to go to their concerts. My favourite albums have to be Brave New World, The Number of the Beast, Seventh Son. Loved Dance of Death as well. Their entire discography is really pretty much perfect.
enjoyed songs from different albums actually. Such as Wrathchild, Children of the damned, Two Minutes to midnight, Wasted Years, The Evil that men do, Hallowed be thy name, Acacia aveneu, Somewhere in time...
Somewhere in Time is easily my favorite Iron Maiden album. But I'm going to be nuts and actually put book of souls at my number two all time. In my opinion both of those albums are rock-solid and there is nothing uninteresting and there are no songs that I ever want to skip over between the two of them
As a kid I was never so much in to the first two albums, but as I've got (much) older I honestly hold them up as some of my favorites from the band. I think Paul's vocals are brilliant on them. Not sure he could have pulled of Number Of The Beast, but those first two records - they're classics.
I'm a major Maiden fan. Like you, they were one of the first Metal Bands I heard, and I first heard them around Brave New World / Dance of Death's released. My favourite thing about Maiden is that if you've heard one album, you've heard them all. You can guess where all the chord changes, solos, fills, etc are.
A little question to people that know more than me about this subject, which is most people here I assume. In the 2015 remasters of the first few albums, did they also redo the lyrics and vocals or is it still that guy before Bruce? What do you think about those remasters in general?
Senjutsu is A tier IMO. I like the progressive elements in that album and especially love the song Hell on Earth. Saw them play that in Indio at Powertrip festival and damn it was good. I actually agree with the rest of your grades, but would move the D's to C's because it's Maiden. Even their bad albums are better than most bands good albums.
definetely agree. There is no trash, their weakest are still better than almost all other bands. Both Senjustsu and Book of souls are A for me. their worst might be C for final frontier or no prayer.
Great video. Thanks. In my opinion, though you could compare the albums in terms of musicality, the fact is, the whole vibe of their music has been changing over time. Due to different factors of course.
I almost jumped for joy ehen you mentioned the dance of death solo, for the longest time i always thought it was so amazing, but no one else really talked about it. Finnaly got some light🔥🔥🔥
X Factor is a great album. People are shitting on in because Bruce is not on it, but if they gave it a chance they would understand that the song writing is top notch and the dark atmosphere is 👌🏻
There's too much whining for my taste: War is bad, I'm sad, god is dead. It's just too heavy but shines with 'Sign of the Cross', 'The Edge of Darkness' and 'Lord of the Flies'
Totally disagree on Blaze!. He did an amazing job, considering Bruce was no longer there (+ Bruce did not return with his best voice IMHO). Still my favorite band, although I prefer the first half, esp. the 82-88 era.
Hey, will you make a Judas priest Ranking too? Iron Maiden done, would be cool if you also did their counterparts, especially as their new album is great
My most listened album by them honestly. It was released right as I got into them, and back then I couldn’t download music and make cds because I was too young, so I blasted my dad’s bootleg Live After Death cd, Rock in Rio and AMOLAD non stop on my disc-man
The time I heard Maiden, I did not like them. The first album I listened to was "Somewhere in Time". Did not like it at all. I went back and listen to "Killers", liked it. Then "Powerslave", LOVED IT! I was hooked. Then I just listened to every Maiden album out at the time. This was before "Fear of the Dark". What was cool is that every album was a gem. Once I listened to all their albums, I went back to "Somewhere in Time", it's my favorite album. I actually do love the Blaze era. I wish the production was better and I wish they had tuned down for his voice. Listen to his solo band playing "Sign of the Cross". It's AWESOME! Since Bruce and Adrian rejoined, "Dance of Death" is my favorite. "Brave New World" is great, I wish "X-Factor" hand that production. LOVE "Book of Souls". I think it's interesting how some of those albums are ok recording but actually sound great live. I think I like more songs in "No Prayer for the Dying" than in "Fear of the Dark". In "Fear" I LOVE "Childhood's End". Very underrated song and I never hear people mention that song. I think it's their shortest epic song.
When you said "Brave New World" is the best Iron Maiden album of all time, you spoke right into my heart. AT LAST, someone who agrees with me. Not a single filler on that album. Masterpiece!

Bro Paul is a fucking beast. The best era.
You lost me at "i dont like Paul's voice"
Bayley albums are GREAT!
This was a good way to spend lunch at work. Thank you, sir.
Brave New World deserves S tier indeed
Powerslave and Somewhere in Time are the favorites for me, and Book of Souls and Final Frontier are ones I quite like even if they aren't up to the caliber of the classics. I'm usually flipping between all 4 of these for my favorite Maiden title track.
It's insane how good you are at this RUclips thing man.
Iron Maiden and Killers are the best Maiden Albums !!
Exactly. No filler songs and those two albums.
Powerslave is my favourite, but everything up to and including Seventh Son are stone cold classics.
Agreed.❤
Yup. Exactly 💯
Listening to "2 minutes to midnight" today is so weird, because were officially at 90 seconds to midnight
I'd say even a minute.
Great point. It's really scary.
Definitely one of my favorite bands
No one knew this. 🙈
Some of those tunes are on the impressive Best of the Beast compilation.
1) Killers
2) Seventh Son
Can't be arsed with the rest but IMO Killers is their best album if you separate it from the "classic" Maiden sound.
You are doing gods work here lol! Hey Bradley im sorry i havent been around but i will definitely become a regular on your streams. Anything i can do to support you and what you do. Rock on brotha
X-Factor underrated
Yes.
agree
One of my top 3 favorite Maiden albums
It's so good
garbage
Dude I’ve been loving this series! Your commentary is engaging and interesting, so that even if I don’t agree with your opinion, it’s super fun to listen to
I think, Somewhere in Time is the most "Adrians" album, mb thats why it is my favorite one.
Doing the Blazed Bailey era and especially the making of "The X-Factor" album Steve Harris had a really dark period in his personal life. Death of parents, divorce and band struggles hence the darker theme of the album and I can speculate a lower energy put into it.
Hot take: The X Factor is a great album and the best of Maiden in the 90s
Hot take? It's just true!
...if you listen on 1.25 speed ;p I mean songwriting is great but sadly Steve depression gave a mark on it. Nicko's drumming sounds like he was bored. It just sounds like Blaze is the only one who cared
At the very least it should not have been in the bin.
X Factor is a masterpiece .... So different and dark album.
Steve Harris was so instrumental in making their iconic sound. Dude is a beast.
enjoyed songs from different albums actually. Such as Wrathchild, Children of the damned, Two Minutes to midnight, Wasted Years, The Evil that men do, Hallowed be thy name, Acacia aveneu, Somewhere in time...
Paul Dianno ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!
Somewhere in Time is easily my favorite Iron Maiden album. But I'm going to be nuts and actually put book of souls at my number two all time. In my opinion both of those albums are rock-solid and there is nothing uninteresting and there are no songs that I ever want to skip over between the two of them
Listening to Maiden in my teen years was the best thing that could happen to me. Adds another level of magic.
As a kid I was never so much in to the first two albums, but as I've got (much) older I honestly hold them up as some of my favorites from the band. I think Paul's vocals are brilliant on them. Not sure he could have pulled of Number Of The Beast, but those first two records - they're classics.
Been a Maiden fan since 96 and liking this before watching
Nice to hear some love for Revelations - one of my all time favourites.
The amount of Blaze Bayley slander in this video is absurd.
That means this video goes in the ‘Binley Hall’ level of my tier list!
Blazes albums are definitely some of my favorite ones
Because they ARE awful albums sung by an awful voice.
@@rabarebrano
Amazing! I bought Edward The Great - Greatest Hits as my first Maiden Album too aged about 12. I'm 36 now - so similar time to you!
Same here although I first heard 2 minutes to midnight on GTA vice city
@@Mowmauf Ha! That's why I bought the album!
THANK YOU for giving props to "Out of the Silent Planet." No one ever gives that track love.
The Rock In Rio version fucking slays.
They never played silent planet on the rock in Rio album @@Powermad-bu4em
@@gazelliott2414
Correct. I was thinking Blood Brothers. My bad.
They didn't play it because it is the only bad track off Brave New World. I don't get why people like it. Boring song and chorus.
@@rabarebra I respect your opinion but don't agree
That's cool, but I'm also going to listen to all of them. Many more times.
4:54 best part of the video
I'm a major Maiden fan. Like you, they were one of the first Metal Bands I heard, and I first heard them around Brave New World / Dance of Death's released.
My favourite thing about Maiden is that if you've heard one album, you've heard them all. You can guess where all the chord changes, solos, fills, etc are.
Bradley you should really listen to Blaze Bayleys solo stuff. So much better than the 2 Maiden albums he did. U might enjoy them
Yep. He is putting out better stuff than them currently. War Within Me is great.
Senjutsu is a good album and I'm tired of pretending it's not.
I almost jumped for joy ehen you mentioned the dance of death solo, for the longest time i always thought it was so amazing, but no one else really talked about it. Finnaly got some light🔥🔥🔥
1. All of them
X Factor is a great album.
They could've got whoever but Blaze, and pull it off better.
Hey, will you make a Judas priest Ranking too? Iron Maiden done, would be cool if you also did their counterparts, especially as their new album is great
A Matter of Life and Death is still the best post-Reunion album IMHO and very underrated.
I don't disagree, but I'd say Brave New World, A Matter of Life and Death and Book of Souls is their top three albums post-2000.
I fully agree. Really every track is good on that album the rest of the albums just have a few good ones and the rest are annoying.
Teacher: tomorrow we’re going to be dressing as our last names
Bruce Dickinson’s son: 😨😰😬
Babe wake up, Bradley Hall just uploaded
Somewhere in Time is my favourite Maiden album and getting to see Alexander the Great live last year was amazing.
Agree with all of the S tier albums. They are the albums I go back to most.
