Bruce is everything. From a singer to an all-round good guy with a great sense of humour and everything in between. I've watched this interview so much the jokes shouldn't be funny any more but they still are...
Bruce isn't that much of an automotive enthusiast. He's more of an aviation enthusiast. Of all the members of Iron Maiden, they should've invited Nicko McBrain. He drives a bespoke blue Jaguar XKR.
Let me get this straight: John Bonham and Keith Moon were so keen to cut Peter Brampton's hair with a pair of garden shears that, to get at Brampton after he'd locked himself into his hotel room, Bonham got into the room with a fire axe? That is just TOO AWESOME. No wonder those two died so young - the world couldn't contain the win!
I've seen this soooo many times...I wonder about myself sometimes, but I see that I'm not the only one who watches this in an almost religious way! Bruce is awesome, I love that guy!!! UP THE IRONS!!!!
I loved this interview so much, circa 2008 I had one of those cool white and orange little Sony Ericsson phones. And I used up the majority of the space on it by recording this interview off my computer screen :) it always made me smile!!!
After watching this, remember, Iron Maiden was one of the minority of huge 80s bands that *didn't* have some kind of massive problem with substance abuse. Maybe they just got lucky.
Bruce did to a point. He said once that he woke up in Japan with no memory of doing a bunch of shows in Australia the week before and that was the point at which he turned it all around started flying and so on. Of course DiAnno did have a huge drug issue and that is why he was fired very swiftly.
Bruce only ever speaks kindly of Ozzy yet Sharon still tries to claim that the reason she hates him is because he was rude - when we all know it’s because maiden stole the show at Ozz fest lmao.
That's not what happened and no, Dickinson has been a shithead to everyone in the business including Ozzy, dio and even his pal rob Halford. Most people just ignore him and dismiss it as Bruce just having a big mouth, but Sharon who is a bitch didn't took shit from Bruce, Bruce is used to people taking the high road when dealing with him, Sharon isn't that kind of person.
This is no more than 2 or 3 years ago. Bruce is an inspiration he,s a qaulified pilot, author, olympic fencer, radio dj,solo artist as well as being the singer in the biggest metal band ever! It,s just the way he is. Surely the most active and talented man ever!
I met him once - when he was in a band called Samson. They were supporting Uriah Heep in Cardiff, S Wales. He was in the bar while the headliners were on and me, him and my mate talked for about 30 minutes. In fact he still owes me a pint. Also - he told us that their band's van was called Bertie! Why I would remember something like that after 30 odd years, I don't know.
lol i never thought i would see Clarkson and Dickinson to discuss....ahahaha thanks so much for this video uploader great job i am gonna watch it , greetings from Greece.. :D
Not in the 90's but it was just a few years ago maybe 3 or 4 because Bruce has cut his hair and because Jeremy introduces him as 'the voice of Iron Maiden' so it seems that Bruce has already rejoined the band as the interview took place.
@nicitaliano 1- steve trialled many many singers and liked blaze's dark deep voice which suited the album content (steves divorce - 2AM etc). 2- blaze had surgery and suffered live.. also couldnt tour southern US because of allergies. 3- adrian was asked to return and said would only do so jan remained and bruce came back. 4- when bruce left in 93 he didnt enjoy being in the band.. there are some pretty explicit interviews where nicko cusses him out.. so no. no one knew hed come back.
@Frank Goodall yeah sure! After the 50000 cans of beer he decided to become an air pilot! And what a hell of a pilot he became! Aaaaaaaaaaces hiiiiiigh! 🙋🏼♀️🤘🏻🤘🏻🤭
This video is so funny "And i was just taking the drum apart while the drummer was playing it"lol Ozzy "i have quit drinking i love a drop of brandy please" lmao
NKVD agent Vassili ‘top’ rather than a man, isn’t he? - From a shitless slave region of humanism being suffered under hoon-tribe-originated-parasitism and kiki'she' collectivism which is known as the name 'Korea', whose dwellers always steals and begs from Japan's original history which clearly inherited sincere humanity in Ancient Cudara more than its 'original' dwellers in hometown.
goldai is wrong. The series Clarkson ran between 1998 and 2000, so it is at least 7 years ago. Bruck Dickinson, though, must be at least 40 years old. Looks bloody good for his age, despite a life of extraordinary excess.
Bruce Dickinson interviews are some of the coolest and most entertaining stuff on the internet. I thinks.
relzric I think*
You have to be right though!
@@g-gamer4747 you think, but he thinks!
That's why we love Bruce so much...
He's not only a voice, he's an idol.
I could listen to Bruce's stories for an hour.
Listen to his autobiography on audible he narrates it is brilliant
Bruce is sympathetic to the bone. Love his humor.
And bloody beautiful
*humoUr
Bruce is everything. From a singer to an all-round good guy with a great sense of humour and everything in between. I've watched this interview so much the jokes shouldn't be funny any more but they still are...
They should have him in Top Gear, No wait they should have the entire band, I would love to see Nicko in the reasonably priced car.
Nicko has a little bit of Jaguar, he even has Eddie on the headrests.
So true
Maybe if they'd done a planes episode
Bruce driving an aircraft
"Granny shifting not double bass drumming like you should".
Shame he didn't show up on Clarkson's Top Gear.
+Mr. Veteran That would've been hilarious. Especially considering Bruce is a pilot. So there would be some very interesting remarks about that.
Rusty Horse Very true. Oh well, at least this is a good enough substitute. :)
Yeah, it is.
Bruce in Saab would be great
Bruce isn't that much of an automotive enthusiast. He's more of an aviation enthusiast. Of all the members of Iron Maiden, they should've invited Nicko McBrain. He drives a bespoke blue Jaguar XKR.
Bruce is awesome! One of my favorite singers of all time. Up The Irons! 🤘
"But you did on one tour, I seem to recall, get through 50,000 cans of beer"
"Ooh that sounds about right, yes."
Sounds so fucking casual, I love it.
It was the World Slavery Tour in 1984-85, it's documented on the booklet for the album Live After Death.
This absolutely lived up to my expectation for an interview with one of my favorite singers
When I stop my manga comic stories...
The both of these guys are two of my favorites...
This interview was gold!
Hahaha, his Ozzy impression is great ^^
Let me get this straight: John Bonham and Keith Moon were so keen to cut Peter Brampton's hair with a pair of garden shears that, to get at Brampton after he'd locked himself into his hotel room, Bonham got into the room with a fire axe? That is just TOO AWESOME. No wonder those two died so young - the world couldn't contain the win!
Such a talented person is Bruce yet so down to earth as well.
Absolutely correct. He's up there along with Rob Halford, among others, as being a legendary vocalist :D
4:28 is when the idea for flight 666 kicks in Bruces head xDDDDDDDDD I swear it!!!!
So Clarkson is actually the man behind Flight 666 then!? :D
+Jean-Luc Picard He was thinking about the page 3 girls.
+Erik Helkimo Exactly!
yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh FLIGHT 666 idea
Jean-Luc Picard o
I've seen this soooo many times...I wonder about myself sometimes, but I see that I'm not the only one who watches this in an almost religious way! Bruce is awesome, I love that guy!!!

Bruce and Clarkson, two of the greatest person ever to come out of the UK.
"I've given up drinking, i've stopped, I'll have a double brandy please!"
Lmao xD
Never heard Bruce outside of singing... he has a rather charming accent!
Have you had an opportunity to see one of his speaking tours? Phenomenal!!
I love it when people post these interview. I've never seen it before here in America. Awesome.
How’s the last 17 years been ? 😊
Can tell it's a long time ago...£30 for a maiden ticket 🤣🤣🤣
Not that long ago. They didn't put the price up until 2008.
@@Theopinionnobodywanted 12 years ago
@@FirstnameLastname-nd9wx That's not that long ago and 3 decades into their career.
I met him on a Bruce Air gig last year... I can vouch for that, he's just plain a great guy.
Two Real Englishmen and great role models, Up the Irons!
Well one of them is. One of them is a fucktard.
+BetaMime Now now - don't say that about Clarkson, despite the facts that it's true.
+Random Task LOL Jeremy is a grade A Tool and an ass twat racist .... role model?
+Random Task Bruce yes but I wouldn't recommend Jeremy Clarkson as a role model; Unless you're the type that looks up to assholes
Clarkson is not a role model.
Jeremy: "I seem to recall on one tour you got through 50,000 cans of beer..."
Bruce: "Ooh that seems about right, yeah"
After watching this, remember, Iron Maiden was one of the minority of huge 80s bands that *didn't* have some kind of massive problem with substance abuse. Maybe they just got lucky.
Work ethics.
They got drunk enough but they always put the music first.
Bruce did to a point. He said once that he woke up in Japan with no memory of doing a bunch of shows in Australia the week before and that was the point at which he turned it all around started flying and so on.
Of course DiAnno did have a huge drug issue and that is why he was fired very swiftly.
Djarra
He wasn't fired, he left on his own account.
RastaSaiyaman Depends who you listen to Paul says he left Smallwood says he was fired.
Two of the best British entertainers ever xD
A destruction with style! What a great interview with Bruce. I could listen to his stories for hours...
Blimey I haven't watched this interview since it's original broadcast. Hilarious as always Brucie. 😂
dude, jeremy clarkson and Bruce Dickinson-what more could u ask for?! Excellent!
a brilliant and articulate man. Bruce Dickinson is one of my favorite personalities.
Bruce and Nicko really need to be Stars in a Reasonably Priced Car...
its so weird seeing these two together bruce dickinson grew up 6 houses down from me and my nan was friends with jeremy's mum
July 19th 2011 - Bruce Dickinson receives an Honorary Doctorate of Music.
He's Dr. Bruce Dickinson now!
Bruce is an World artist. Say no more.
What a tempting, gorgeous, talented and funny man! Best voice in heavy metal ever!
Cool! Two of my favorite blokes in one show! Love iron maiden and love top gear!
Bruce only ever speaks kindly of Ozzy yet Sharon still tries to claim that the reason she hates him is because he was rude - when we all know it’s because maiden stole the show at Ozz fest lmao.

Hes also a great writer and a great tv/radio presenter
4:24 so this was where Bruce got the idea for Flight 666? ;)
Fenny Helgi
Lucky enough to have had a beer with him and Janick Gers (a friend is related to Janick). Both genuinely nice, down to earth guys, and a proper laugh.
Clarkson = legend.
Dickinson = legend.
Bruce Dickinson and many other metal vocalists would make excellent voices for cartoon villains.
Might just be the best interview i have ever seen!
i've watched this interview so many times i think i can almost memorize all of bruce's lines Lol
it's just so friggin hilarious!
Are you still watching ?
I've seen interviews from the 80s and early 90s and hes hilarious and cool in them as well
This video shows why Bruce is so amazing. So lovely person . Great !
Imagine to have a drink with Bruce and Ozzy
Only Bruce can come out holding a beer and make it classy.
A bottle of beer on a chatshow, Don't think it'd happen on Parkinson or Jonathan Ross nowadays.
Two British legends
Clarkson : " Mr. Dickinson do you like VW Golf or Ford Focus?
Bruce:" I like only Rock and Roll and Airplanes"
Brilliant my favorite singer interviewed by my favorite host !
My two favorite British people ....talking to each other....amazing,
Same :D
Not only is he one hell of a singer, but hes is also sooo much fun :-)
Who's watching in 2016?
me, switched down to 144p though
Elton França Alencar same

Iron Maiden is not biggest metal bend ever, maybe for you!
A true renaissance man !

You can't spell DICKINSON...and you call yourself a fan?
ZON!!!
MrSoillam Where did he say that he is a fan?
+MrSoillam How well do you speak and write Greek?
better than you Vlaka
@RoxyXStrawberry a song on the album ''No prayer for the dying'' is named ''Bring your daugther to the slauther''.
Some people still have a problem separating the date the video was posted and the date of the actual footage...
Not in the 90's but it was just a few years ago maybe 3 or 4 because Bruce has cut his hair and because Jeremy introduces him as 'the voice of Iron Maiden' so it seems that Bruce has already rejoined the band as the interview took place.

LOL i love his Ozzy Ozbourne Impressions "a Bit of Brandy!" lol
Keith Moon + John Bonham + Vodka + Cocane + Hotel Room = Interesting mix
A very funny interwiew with two brilliant guys. Bruce is amazing!
Great Ozzy impersonation 👍😂
Bruce got the idea for Ed Force One from Jereny Clarkson! 4:21
Wrong. I saw Bruce singing in person in Sydney and Melbourne 3 months ago, and it is him.
Happy 50th, Bruce!!
Two of my heroes!
So this is where Bruce got his idea for a plane.
Even when he's just speaking normally I get jealous of his voice
very interesting that both blokes were born near the same areas with clarkson from doncaster and dickinson from worksop
And both went to similar private schools
We want Bruce on Top Gear!!!!
Bruce and Austin = Father and Son = Legends.
The show was actually called "Clarkson". It was hosted by Jeremy Clarkson and it ran from 1998 to 2000.
They should have put this show on at 2 mins to midnight.
Bruce is so funny lolz...... "he cut his air with garden shears" lolz!!!!!!!
You can tell his good upbringing by the way he lifted himself of the seat to shake hands.
Bruce brings class to metal. There's no doubt that he's a proper gentleman with high standards
@Frank Goodall yeah sure! After the 50000 cans of beer he decided to become an air pilot!
And what a hell of a pilot he became!

I wish we had shows like this in Greece. Or, even better, I wish some channel showed this show here in Greece.
I can't count how many times I've watched this interview...
Erm - does anyone have footage of that concert he was on about? Haha!
I like the guy, well-spoken and yet a good laugh.
Bruce Dickinson is the Bruce Lee of all that is METAL!
This video is so funny "And i was just taking the drum apart while the drummer was playing it"lol Ozzy "i have quit drinking i love a drop of brandy please" lmao
When it comes to metal, I mostly care about the music (that includes lyrics and vocals)
LOL, brilliant! Love the story about the 3-piece quite going into the audience!
Screammm For me CLARKSON!!
Happy Birthday Bruce! Cheers from Hungary
2 best British men alive
I beg to differ, but ok
What about Rob Halford ?
NKVD agent Vassili

This haircut was a milestone in Bruce's career.
Was Bruce ever the star in the reasonably priced car? I watch Top Gear all the time but never saw him on there.
Unfortunately no. 🙁

Very cool interview, an airline pilot, author and oh yeah and singer, perhaps prime minister next.....
Those seven minutes flew by really quick.
