Joe knows movies are scripted which is why he said 'lol jokes'. So, "An LoL joke is a scripted scenario specifically created to make people laugh-out-loud.

Agree with everyone who is not just saying "tits". I think Erica added good energy to the review. She was outgoing and engaging. I actually found myself wanting to hear what she had to say. Good work Erica. ... also Joe whats with the suit jacket?

I enjoyed Erica's comments and participation in this review Joe, you should have her on more often. Very lovely looking too btw. And you let her talk a lot more than you let anyone else talk, which I thought was good because she had intelligent and good points to offer. Great review, never heard about this movie and now you've made me want to go see it.

I can't STAND Anne Hathaway, and i can barely stomach Jason Sudeikis. The only thing that they could have done to make it worse was to cast Kevin James in the film as well.
In spite of all that this turned out to be a very good ,dark, thought provoking movie.

I honestly didn't see this so much as a comedy at all, but I loved it. Jason did such a good job of making me feel uneasy throughout his performance similar to the feeling I got watching John Goodman's performance in that bunker movie whose name I cannot remember for some reason. He got so creepy and heartless, great thriller movie for me.

I had this spoiled for me a month ago. The twist is actually very clever.
Sorry to break it to you Joe, but this story isn't original. It's been done countless times. Its not an indie film, its still got a multi million dollar budget, and in fact... TOHO (the makers of Godzilla) were in a heated lawsuit about them COPYING Godzilla. As a film, it clearly doesn't deserve a 9 or a 10, especially compared to KONG of GODZILLA which both had much more deep and developed characters, backstories and settings that could be explored.
Sorry Joe, just one one of the times I have to disagree with your opinion.
DangerVille It wasn't a heated lawsuit, it was actually settled quite quickly. It happened two years ago when Vigalondo was pitching Colossal at Cannes. He pitched it as a sort of cross between Godzilla and Being John Malkovich. Toho didn't know anything about Colossal other than the use of the word "Godzilla" in a pitch. Now that the movie's distribution rights have been sold, there's no use of bringing up petty lawsuits other than to hurt a film's reputation. Don't do that, I just saw this film and it was indeed wildly original and creative. One of the most unpredictable movies I've seen all year

Disagree completely. The premise of this movie is quite original. I'm not sure about your bulshit about this movie lacking developed characters came from. The characterisation in this movie is actually very good.
I agree with OJ, Sudeikis character was just not awkward or a jerk, his character/performance was pretty uneven, it feels like they cut some scenes off explaining his behavior.

That's because this isn't a comfortable movie to sit through. It tackles some very hard and dark issues in realistic manner. Yes, that mean it is not a comedy at all. It is still a very good movie that is worth your time .

My bf and actually decided to watch this instead of the new Guardians of the Galaxy on a whim, solely based on the description since we hadn't seen any ads for it. Totally glad we did, it isn't perfect, but one of the more interesting stories we've seen in a long time.

I'm happy that you liked the movie, Vigalondo is a very talented spanish director that because of our crumbling cinema industry didn't have big chances until now. I will certainly check it out and I recommend Cronocrímenes from him too.

Unfortunately the theaters around me won't show it for some reason. They're for the most part only showing the kids and christian movies, despite there being much better movies in theaters now. On that note, I was already upset with them not showing Your Name, which I also highly recommend you go watch if you can. It is the best movie I have seen in a long time. I have to drive an hour to get to the nearest theater showing it, and I've seen it twice, and will probably go see it a third time this weekend.
The movie concept was good. But I hated every character in the story. Made it hard to watch a bunch of characters I hate. Especially the main character, she was the worst one. Other Joe was spot on.

I didn't even know this movie existed now I plan to go see it in theaters...love my AMC theater every seat is leather and reclines with a foot rests except the rows down on ground level in front of the screen which still rocks back

When this film started with his production, Toho threatened for make a film about a giant monsters, so they say "We will change it for a giant robot". But now, is a giant monster.
What happened between the production and now?
the movie seem like it suck, and joe is just giving it 1 ups, other joe is the only one who know what he's talking about, i just don't know man it just sound.... ok on paper, but in the pass we learn that giant monsters, romance and comedy just doesn't work.....for example transformer and why would there be romance when you control a kaiju,,, a kaiju, it's just weird but i will reward their creativity with it's interesting... i look forward to seeing it. i'm ok with transformers and i going to give this move the same respect but this review feels off, this is dark joe, i want the good old angry joe...the other joe opinion meant nothing something is wrong i'm telling you
Other Joe was only right in one aspect :this movie isn't a comedy at all. This movie is so far removed from romance comedy . The story is actually a rather dark drama with some unexpected twist (which becomes apparent in retrospect).

Definitely need to have Erica on more often. Cute, definitely not camera shy, funny, can freely express her thoughts/opinions, great personality that compliments AJ and OJ ... I see no reason why we should ever see Del or Beard again. lol
Thankfully I was in New York to watch this because I know south Texas would never have this in their theaters (and they don't). Amazing movie really

ghost in the shell bombed domestically did very well in the foreign market..also they had alot of sponsored promotions so no one lost money but it deserved to do so much better...just like Need For Speed which was only in theaters for what seemed like 10 days
No, Ghost In the Shell bombed hard internationally and lost money. It only made 169 million on a 110 million production budget.
