If you use gamma radiation from cobalt 60 or cesium 137, it doesn't cause food itself to become irradiated. It acts more like heat, killing living bacteria on the food, but not altering the food itself. Science!

thecakeThief No it just comes out as C02 or C01, both are far less harmful than methane.
There's an important distinction: methane, when burned, is much less damaging than normal methane. It actually changes chemical composition (that's basically the definition of burning).
Would methane fuel have more damage than oil? I don't know. Google doesn't provide an easy answer. But you are burning methane which would have gone in to the air anyway (in a more dangerous form), if not captured, and you don't burn oil while using the methane.
But, with it supposedly captured, you could just sequester it. It would take increasing amounts of space as more is captured, it would also need support from the government so that it doesn't need to make money from its procedure. Sequestering stuff isn't exactly economically engaging.
thecakeThief Actually, for a hydrocarbon based fuel, methane (CH4) is the cleanest burning there is.
The basic reason for this is that when you burn a hydrocarbon in an oxygen (O2) rich environment you just get water (H2O) and carbon dioxide (CO2). For CH4 this would yield 1 CO2 molecule and 2 H2O molecules under ideal circumstances, so the ratio of H2O:CO2 produced is 2:1.
This is considerably better than any more complex hydrocarbon because each carbon atom can form a max of 4 bonds with neighboring atom(s) while hydrogen can form only 1 bond, so for every extra carbon atom connected to another carbon atom the fewer hydrogen atoms can bond with each carbon and the lower the H2O:CO2 will be.
However, because it is a gas so it has a much lower physical density that somewhat counteracts its greater energy density per molecule compared to any other hydrocarbon fuel and the fact that it is a greenhouse gas that is 20 times more effective at storing heat in the atmosphere than CO2 I really don't trust it as a fuel source.
That said, capturing it and preventing it from entering into the atmosphere doesn't sound like a bad idea.

Woah! That's genius! The depression treating electric headband I mean. There's a treatment that already exists for severe depression that's basically shock therapy, and the idea is to break neral pathways and hope they fix themselves into a more positive thought process. When I first heard of said treatment I thought it sounded pretty extreme, and it is, but it's only used in extreme cases. This headband alternative sounds like it could target areas better and not be extreme. That's pretty cool.
