Ben Shapiro i love the buu saga because it was the most desperate time for the z fighters, and toriyama did a perfect job at showing it. the earth’s dragon balls were destroyed, goku and vegeta both died, human extinction, goten and trunks were too fatigued to fuse again, it felt like they were never gonna win. the scene with kid buu blowing up the earth like that is something that can’t be topped imo. but goku flying away with uub was a shitty way to end the manga.
Ya, Bibidy is Babadi's father and the monster they created is Buu. Toriyama really likes his name puns...like all the Saiyians are name puns on vegetables (Vegeta = Vegatable, Kakarrot - Carrot, Bardock = Burdock root, Nappa = a type of cabbage, Raditz = Radish) Everyone in Bulma's family is named after types of underwear (Bulma = Bloomers, Her dad's name is Dr. Briefs, her son's name is Trunks) and so on....everyone's name is a pun pretty much.
Buu's backstory apparently got changed a while back, he is now a primordial force of destruction (I wonder if Beerus was involved) that Bibidy learnt how to 'control' (sorta, somehow). Babidy isn't Bibidy's son now, but rather his clone who was made as a backup plan for if Babidy ever died, yet he isn't 100% the same (basically he is still his son, he just wasn't made the fun way). No idea when this was changed though

Before he died, he had a son or clone (depending on which translation you get) called Babidi, who then tried to "revive" Buu, as he had been sealed by the Kaioshin (supreme Kai) like the purple alien looking guy with Goku in this video (he's the only Kaioshin who survived Buu's first rampage). So yeah, bibidi, babidi, buu... all intentional ^^

When he says "spend most of your life ruled by another, watch your race dwindle to a handful, then tell me what has more meaning than your own strength" he is refering to Frieza and the emotional scars that he left. Also Babidi was a clone that bibidi made keeping all his memories, but making him think independently. After Bibidi died, Babidi was able to continue his evil ambitions. So there was Bibidi Babidi Buu!
I'm sure you're sad now, maybe at the time you just weren't as caught up on what was happening (I mean, you didn't even know who Mr. Satan (Hercule) was) Because when Vegeta blasted the crowd for the 2nd time (around the 13:00 mark) you laughed, when most of us were sad. Rewatching almost 3 years later. But when he said Goku has saved his life as if he was a helpless child, he meant that as a saiyan he'd rather die after being defeated than being shown mercy
I would recommend "Vegeta's Respect" as a good video to watch. about 4 minutes long. Good fight scenes good character insight and will map out a good few things in the DBZ timeline between Vegeta and Goku.
You've got the pattern right: Bibidi Babidi Buu. Bibidi is the original (now deceased) wizard who created Buu. Babidi is Bibidi's clone (though they called him Bibidi's son in the english dub). Buu is a monster created pretty much solely to destroy. Babidi has come to Earth in order to steal energy from Earth's fighters in order to revive Buu from a dormant, sealed state, coinciding with the World Martial Arts Tournament. One of his ways of stealing energy is to cast the Majin spell on people, usually putting them under his control and causing any energy they steal (via inuring their opponents) to be "donated" to Buu's revival. The spell also augments the afflicted person's power level. Gohan, Goku, and Vegeta were originally working with the Supreme Kai (the purple guy) to stop this, but after realizing what the Majin spell can do, Vegeta allows Babidi to cast the spell on him, to finally bring him up to Goku's level and achieve Super Saiyan 2, or so Vegeta believes. The video you watched picks up from there and is the start of the events that ultimately end with Vegeta's sacrifice to atone for doing this. As you can tell from Vegito's fight with Super Buu, however, that's not where the story ends.

in short: babidi is a short alien dude(?) who is trying to gather pure energy from other dudes like Gohan and Goku to resurrect Buu (the purple gum dude) and to create chaos everywhere.
Explaination without Spoilers to the fight: Okay so here we have Vegeta with the big M on his Head. That M stands for Majin like in Majin Buu but what does it mean? The "cricket" Babidi is the son od the great mage Bibidi who CREATED Buu. Babidi isnt as strong as his father but he's a master of mindcontrol so he lets other work for him. His Quest is to awaken and control Majin Buu to destroy earth. To awaken Buu he needs the energy from other People (kinda like Cell did). One of the best ways to get this energy is while fighting and here we come to the homie Vegeta. The Majinmark doesnt just give mindcontrol and a power boost, it also unchains the pure evil of the controled person. If u remember Vegeta came to earth to destroy it; that quest is what he learned since he was a child. Hes the modafakin prince of all the Sayins, one of the strongest races in the universe, and so his father told him to control the whole universe. Vegeta turned into a... well i guess we could say "good guy" but he will NEVER forget the things he learned since he was a kid. You already know that he wants to be stronger than Goku (cuz he's the modafakin prince of all the sayins) but he never managed to get stronger by training only till that day. So what can a man do to become even stronger? Right, let his hidden power be unleashed by a crazy cricket magician. BUT Vegeta never was really controled my Babidi (as u already saw in "Vegetas Sacrifice" where he also had that Majinmark) he just kinda finally have an reason to unleash all his Anger and may defeat Goku no matter what the cost is (thats why he attacked random people). He doesnt even care about the fact that the power they will show while fighting could awake Buu. All thats in his mind right now is defeat Kakarot! I hope that helped you to get the story^^ Have fun with the fight and remember: Sometimes u have to do extreme things to get what u want (but pls dont overreact and kill random ppl xD).
OK quick sitrep. 1. Bibidi (Babidi's father) made an unstoppable monster named Buu 2. Bibidi and Buu Kill all but 1 of the supreme Kai (buu also absorbs one Kai turning Buu into the fat diaper baby form) 3. Bibidi locked Buu in a huge egg and transported him to earth where he was planning to next take over. (on his way to earth however he is killed by supreme kai) 4. Fast forward 2 million years or so and Babidi shows up trying to unlock Buu from the egg. Not being as powerful as Bibidi however he needed to break the egg through raw power. (he gets this power from stamping the "M" on peoples forehead and having them fight others. the damage they exchange between each other gets transferred into Buu until he has enough power to be awakened) 5. Goku is granted 1 day back in the living world after being dead for like 6 years, so that he can participate in the martial arts tournament. This is when babidi attacks (where better to find people willing to beat the hell out of each other so he can steal their energy than a tournament?) The tournament being called off because of this new threat Vegeta sees his last chance to fight Goku fly out the window. Not only this but during a fight goku flashed his max power for an instant and Vegeta sensed it and knew he couldn't beat Goku. Vegeta then overheard Supreme Kai talking about Dabura (one of Bibidi's henchmen) Stating that Dabura wasn't this powerful before he got the stamp on his forehead. That's when Vegeta decided to let Babidi control him. 6...... Is where you picked up this video........ Hope this helps friend
Babadi is the master of Buu and is also a magician so he teleported them all to the world tournament to fight Goku. And Goku and the rest of the gang didn't get rich off Cell. Mr. Satan (Shonuff) took credit for Cell's defeat and made bank as the savior of the world. Babidi is a clone of Bibidi so yes Bibidi does show up.

Here's a quick and dirty of how the M (majin) stamp works:Basically all it does is awaken the evil someone already has inside them. While it does do other small things allot of them are really vague as Toriyama likes to not explain certain things. The only solid things we know about it is that it awakens any evil you might have and that this make a fighter vicious and so a better fighter (this is why it works on Vegita given his past, but not the others as they were never evil before). This change however us not permanent and a person can still come to their senses and become good again. Again there are things that I'm not mentioning like how it MAY magically increase your power but again even this is up for debate as while others with the stamp have gotten stronger beyond any training cricket guy said he was restoring Vegitas power to before he started resisting his darker side, or it might just work like Guru's power up for Gohan and Krillin where it unlocks your hidden potential, but for bad guys.....you know what forget it. Like I said, Toriyama likes to not explain things. Seriously, Google DBZ debates, you'll find libraries of rants between people who argue this shit for days. Anyway, hope this helped.

in short: babidi is a short alien dude(?) who is trying to gather pure energy from other dudes like Gohan and Goku to resurrect Buu (the purple gum dude) and to create chaos everywhere.

Explaination without Spoilers to the fight:
Okay so here we have Vegeta with the big M on his Head. That M stands for Majin like in Majin Buu but what does it mean? The "cricket" Babidi is the son od the great mage Bibidi who CREATED Buu. Babidi isnt as strong as his father but he's a master of mindcontrol so he lets other work for him. His Quest is to awaken and control Majin Buu to destroy earth. To awaken Buu he needs the energy from other People (kinda like Cell did). One of the best ways to get this energy is while fighting and here we come to the homie Vegeta. The Majinmark doesnt just give mindcontrol and a power boost, it also unchains the pure evil of the controled person. If u remember Vegeta came to earth to destroy it; that quest is what he learned since he was a child. Hes the modafakin prince of all the Sayins, one of the strongest races in the universe, and so his father told him to control the whole universe. Vegeta turned into a... well i guess we could say "good guy" but he will NEVER forget the things he learned since he was a kid. You already know that he wants to be stronger than Goku (cuz he's the modafakin prince of all the sayins) but he never managed to get stronger by training only till that day. So what can a man do to become even stronger? Right, let his hidden power be unleashed by a crazy cricket magician. BUT Vegeta never was really controled my Babidi (as u already saw in "Vegetas Sacrifice" where he also had that Majinmark) he just kinda finally have an reason to unleash all his Anger and may defeat Goku no matter what the cost is (thats why he attacked random people). He doesnt even care about the fact that the power they will show while fighting could awake Buu. All thats in his mind right now is defeat Kakarot!

Actually Bibity is the father of that little cricket Bonita trying to control Vegeta as well as the creator of Buu.
OK quick sitrep.
1. Bibidi (Babidi's father) made an unstoppable monster named Buu
2. Bibidi and Buu Kill all but 1 of the supreme Kai (buu also absorbs one Kai turning Buu into the fat diaper baby form)
3. Bibidi locked Buu in a huge egg and transported him to earth where he was planning to next take over. (on his way to earth however he is killed by supreme kai)
4. Fast forward 2 million years or so and Babidi shows up trying to unlock Buu from the egg. Not being as powerful as Bibidi however he needed to break the egg through raw power. (he gets this power from stamping the "M" on peoples forehead and having them fight others. the damage they exchange between each other gets transferred into Buu until he has enough power to be awakened)
5. Goku is granted 1 day back in the living world after being dead for like 6 years, so that he can participate in the martial arts tournament. This is when babidi attacks (where better to find people willing to beat the hell out of each other so he can steal their energy than a tournament?) The tournament being called off because of this new threat Vegeta sees his last chance to fight Goku fly out the window. Not only this but during a fight goku flashed his max power for an instant and Vegeta sensed it and knew he couldn't beat Goku. Vegeta then overheard Supreme Kai talking about Dabura (one of Bibidi's henchmen) Stating that Dabura wasn't this powerful before he got the stamp on his forehead. That's when Vegeta decided to let Babidi control him.

Babadi is the master of Buu and is also a magician so he teleported them all to the world tournament to fight Goku. And Goku and the rest of the gang didn't get rich off Cell. Mr. Satan (Shonuff) took credit for Cell's defeat and made bank as the savior of the world. Babidi is a clone of Bibidi so yes Bibidi does show up.

Here's a quick and dirty of how the M (majin) stamp works:Basically all it does is awaken the evil someone already has inside them. While it does do other small things allot of them are really vague as Toriyama likes to not explain certain things. The only solid things we know about it is that it awakens any evil you might have and that this make a fighter vicious and so a better fighter (this is why it works on Vegita given his past, but not the others as they were never evil before). This change however us not permanent and a person can still come to their senses and become good again.
Again there are things that I'm not mentioning like how it MAY magically increase your power but again even this is up for debate as while others with the stamp have gotten stronger beyond any training cricket guy said he was restoring Vegitas power to before he started resisting his darker side, or it might just work like Guru's power up for Gohan and Krillin where it unlocks your hidden potential, but for bad guys.....you know what forget it. Like I said, Toriyama likes to not explain things. Seriously, Google DBZ debates, you'll find libraries of rants between people who argue this shit for days.
