Fun fact: when this episode aired in the U.S back in November 2001, DBZ went on a nearly one year hiatus and left the story at a cliffhanger. The next episode of DBZ wouldn’t air until September 2002…
This scene right here is the definition of true anime and which made everyone love vegeta. Anyone who have watched dbz this scene has been etched to their memory for a lifetime that's how strong this episode was. In this episode he showed what a true Prince should supposed to be like. And yes this dialogue "Bulma, Trunks, and yes even for you... Kakarot" will tear your heart apart.
and he may not love kakraot but vegeta in his mind made it his duty to protect the world casue goku wasn't there , imagine having a bomb strapped to your body and you have seconds to stall before a fat human eating monster eats everyone , would you detotnate the bomb and sacrifice yourselfe for the world , see it like that .
The narrator when he said "He's name is Vegeta,. A proud Saiyan Prince" it gives me chills. Piccolo telling Vegeta is he was going to keep hes body like Goku man that broke me And Vegeta saying good bye to Bulma, Trunks and Goku was sad
IF you turn to the 15:36 mark, and listen close, you can hear him screaming in the background. One of the most coolest moments in all of anime! NOTHING tops the Bruce Fal English Dub version!
He doesn't die though. While it is never fully explained the main theory is that Majin Buu's explosion technique he used against Vegeta threw Shin outside of the blast radius Vegeta created with his Final Explosion/Atonement. It seems that Buu's attack also hurt Shin even more as to make his energy so faint Piccolo couldn't sense it anymore.
that makes sense too or it could be also buu , cause vegeta saw that small ki blast were too weak casue buu can regeneate sop a big strong explosion shld do it , like he meant , i understand how i neeed to end your existence now .eighter theory i'm good with tough 😀😀
“This is the truth.” *eye twitch* He still had the guts to go through with it even after he learned he wouldn’t keep his body. But in that one moment he redeemed himself. This is one of the greatest moments in anime in my opinion. If you listen closely when it cuts to Krillin and Piccalo you can hear Vegeta’s yell in background.
11:23 Even though Vegeta got a confirmation that he would most probably go to hell, and would not get his body back in the afterlife, unlike Goku, he was still willing to go out with a bang. That's true determination there.
@@spudeeelad I don't think he was dead long enough to make it through King Yemma's line. after Krillin, he was last to die and there was a whole planet of namekians and freiza soldiers ahead of him. and it's hard to know how much time passed seeing as this was before the 5 minute battle that lasted 2 or 3 hours
What makes Vegeta's sacrifice so incredible as well is, not only did he know he was going to die. But he knew he was going to hell afterwards for his past life and hurt he caused others. So to not only know you're gonna die but be punished forever afterwards...AND STILL make the ultimate sacrifice!?!?! It's beyond heroic, and I think that little fact gets overlooked abit sometimes.👍🏻
Vegeta's most iconic moment a character defining moment and I love the conversation Piccolo and Vegeta had. There's Instant Respect between them it wasn't like that in the beginning but over time they showed respect for each other during the series. The funniest part is when Babidi what's begging for his life against Piccolo putting up that weak barrier. And then throwing that liquid on him piccolos is looking at him like really? 😂😂😂 And Vegeta hugging trunks is one of the most touching scenes that we've ever seen throughout Dragon Ball Z history.
The Narrator really knew how to hit the mark with his send off to Vegeta. The way he admired him with the closing lines. This still hits you in the feels when you watch it. That's when you know you did something right in an anime/manga series. Vegeta giving his life to save everyone just hits differently. Similar to when Vegeta cried for the first time on Namek when he gave that speech to Goku before he died at the hands of Frieza.
The main reason I love this episode is because you remember all that trunks did and how he pulled through. Makes Vegetas “you’ve made me proud” so strong
wait , since he used his own internal ki and made it a bomb and detotnated it , the explaosion started on the inside of vegeta's core , bro , it's like swallowing a nuke and letting it explode in your body 😮😮😮😮, i can't imagine how that feels ,sheesh
"You are my only son and yet I haven't held you once since you were a baby, have I? Come here son." This is the moment fans knew shit was getting real. This was the shift that solidified Vegeta as a fan favorite.
I first saw the scene when I was in high school and it hit hard. Now, I’ve got a wife and two little sons and it hits so much harder, I can’t get through this scene with dry eyes.
