My dream is to be a traveling artist. For the past 2 months, I've been doing it. I've grown my Insta following by 1500 people and sold several prints and paintings! I may be almost out of money, but DAMNIT I'm going it and I. WILL. FIGURE. THIS. OUT.
You go, girl! Hope it's all working out for you!
Where can I find your work? I'd support your dream. I know this was posted a year ago but I hope you are still going strong and making your dream reality.
Will follow you on instagram!!!
Liat Noten idk why but this made me SO HAPPY
You go girl!!
I have a mantra on my desktop that I read out loud first thing every morning, and I've created a private vision board on Pinterest. Nothing is off limits. My dreams, not theirs.
"If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them" - Henry David Thoreau
My dream is to have my own brand, my own clothing line. Have a fashion company with people who cares about ethical or eco fashion. And I want it big, I want my business works internationally. I also have a dream to build a cat shelter for stray or feral cats.
But my family always said that I should just work with conventional jobs. But I don't want that. I know my dreams. Even though sometimes I have doubt, because I haven't had the fund to start big, I start from zero. Also my degree is completely different, so I don't know where to start. And especially, I sometimes doubt because my family don't understand and support me. But I believe in my self. I believe I can live in my dreams.
Thank you, Marie!
Send lots of love and courage to all of you to stay believing in your dreams!
I Wear A Bow Good luck. One tip I heard that might help you, is to do just one thing everyday (could be something small) and eventually your gonna get there
TheNicoliyah ^_^
This is beautiful. PLEASE work toward this, that would help so many people (and cats!)
I Wear A Bow I'm so late but good luck!! You deserve it!💞
I love this 😍
Please don't listen. The world definitely needs this ✨✨✨
Being unrealistic is a form of negativity so 1.) Take the word unrealistic out of your vocabulary because many people have achieved unrealistic dreams thus making them realistic. or 2.) Don't tell people your dreams, so you don't have to hear their discouragement. Not everyone deserves to hear your dreams, especially if they aren't supportive.
Penelope Rivas thank you

Thank you for the positive advice, I was losing faith in my dreams but I took action. I joined B- School and I am committed to making my dreams come true. We only get one shot here on earth, I want it to count!
Thank you for making this video..! I'm certainly one of those who have "Unrealistic dreams".. I dropped out of high school because of numerous tragic circumstances and dysfunction in my family life and had absolutely ZERO interest or ability to concentrate. There's a whole lot that has happened since the last time I have been in high school, but I feel I certainly have nothing to lose. I am now 37 years old and only recently felt what I believe to be my life's "calling".. I haven't felt ANY passion for any work for most of my life, but I recently watched a documentary series on frontline emergency room doctors, nurses and specialists filmed in the city where I live.. Needless to say, it hit home.. The sound of being a registered nurse sparked an energy in me and I've been looking into that path for a career and what it takes..
It certainly fits into the category of "Unrealistic dreams" for someone in my position.. It would take me about 7-8 years to accomplish this long term goal of mine and I certainly have strong doubts of my ability to do it.. Getting my high school diploma, which will take at least a year and a half, the prerequisites for the nursing program, which will take a year and a half to two years, and then seeing if I actually get accepted into a BSN nursing program, which is a 3-4 year program, full time.. If I do make it to that point and get accepted, other prerequisites are getting first-aid and CPR certified, getting a background check and getting up to date with immunizations.. 7-8 years for this journey, and that is IF I work diligently and am SUCCESSFUL.. If I fail anything along the way, it will take me longer..
I feel there is no other job which allows me to help others at their most vulnerable, receive an immense sense of gratitude doing it, while getting paid a good salary with good benefits, even if the shifts are 12 hours.. I have the utmost respect for everyone out there working on the frontlines of emergency healthcare..
Needless to say, the odds are stacked against me and I have STRONG doubts about my ability and motivation and my intelligence.. Am I being delusional.!?!? Just dreaming..?? I certainly don't have the time and money to waste, but I'm going to try..
The good thing is that I'm already implementing the steps outlined in this video and I can say without a doubt, that it is a positive force in my life.. Writing things down, EVERYTHING, from every day tasks to short and long term goals, I write them down so I don't forget, and can go back to when times are tough, I lose my sense of direction and am questioning my decisions and purpose.. To have a vision of what needs to be done, what steps are required, broken down individually, the realistic time it will take to accomplish, to be able to physically, psychologically and emotionally prepare and ACTUALLY take actions, make progress, and use that progress and fuel for perseverance and motivation..
In regards to #2.. The good thing is that I don't get too much negativity from others, but that's only because I don't hang around many people nowadays.. The negativity is coming from within myself, my doubts and fears of the unknown.. Time, energy and money wasted if I fail along the way.. Being able to pay the other bills while I embark on this journey..
Number 3: Flooding myself with positive examples.. I'm doing that even before I am in ANY position close to being accepted to a nursing program.. Watching RUclips videos of others who have documented their journey through nursing school, their difficulties and what is expected and required.. What the exams are like, the workload, and reading required.. How to study.. People who have made it, people who have failed along their journey, for whatever reasons.. Removing the negative mentalities, but still being realistic about things..
Number 4: Reminding myself that if I don't spend the time, energy, and money to chase after my dreams, I will be spending a LOT of time working for someone else who is chasing their dreams.. To remind myself to live a life that is in line with my own values, a life which I feel is meaningful, full of purpose, which creates a positive, tangible change in others lives as well.. Instead of just working for a paycheck, living day-to-day, month-to-month, a mundane, boring, meaningless, unfulfilling life just worrying about bills and not being able to afford the things I want to do, or things I want to buy...
Number 5: Taking action.. I'm glad to say that I'm just starting to take the first steps needed and will be taking it day by day to get it done.. Hopefully get it done.. It will be a long, lonely journey, but I have no other major distractions, at least right now, and nothing to lose.. Hoping to meet some good people along the way, maybe even a girlfriend.. =)
Here's to getting out of dysfunctional lives and creating a better one..!! Good luck and work hard to chase those "Unrealistic Dreams" everyone..!!
I'm a singer/songwriter just starting out. This is my second year of doing Marie's B School. So many people, including my parents and friends, were worried when I decided I wanted to record my music. "There's so many musicians out there, so many great ones, you'll be lost in a sea of musicians who aren't making it!" Those were the concerns. But I decided to do it anyway. I just uploaded my first video to my RUclips page and the encouragement so far has been so positive. I'm recording my next song next week!
My unrealistic dream is to become a Indian bollywood movie star/role model/dancer and everyone laughs cause I don't know Hindi, I am only 4' 11 and not that pretty. But I have confidence in my dancing skills. I just need to work on my acting.
momo_jiji You are pretty - don't hold on to those negative beliefs
Hey, I believe in your potential. Believe. Some of the things I never thought would happen to me NOW, I thought of them last year. I hope you'll never stop because you're getting closer there. 😊💙
You're beautiful!! And you'll achieve your dream. People laugh at me when I tell them I want to be a singer one day... But I know it'll come as long as I work hard!
I feel like going into Agriculture, growing food modern ways with Indian original ways of agriculture maintained. But people laugh when i say i want to do agriculture or i am interested in doing so. Also i had a plan to buy a small home at a remote place far from the city with farm where i can work and relax and enjoy nature the natural way. But my family, and friends laugh over it and say its a very unrealistic dream, when farmers are suiciding, i am planning to go for agriculture, nothing in agriculture all say....
Ravindra Dhande me too. Look up the no dig garden. I'm laying that all down in the back yard. People look down on farmers. But your food has to come from somewhere e
Wow that really does sound wonderful. I believe that when we have a desire like that, especially in a field that is failing in some way, we have something new to bring to it. You could change the agriculture world. And that would change the rest of the world with it. :)
Ravindra Dhande ignore them ! Just do it my friend and believe me you wil not regret it later ;)
Go forward buddy.
Ravindra Dhande *If someone tells you your big dream is unrealistic, that's a sure sign you should go for it.*
so here I telling you... You are an idiot and your dream is unrealistic. (I hope you get it)😉
Marie, thank you so much for answering my question! I love your show and all the compassion and care you put behind it and I am so honored that you took the time to offer your great advice to me. Thanks again! Dream come true!
OMG - Best quote ever!! thank you so much Marie for the uplifting words "Do not solicit or listen to the opinions of people who are notorious for just being Debbie Downers"
My interests change like the wind. This is why I am a jack-of-all-trades. Where is the market for a guy who loves to weld, sing, repair antique toys, write stories, play and perform music, and be a philosopher/scientist?
Thomas Walz Jacks of all trades seem to be the people best at creating their own productions and owning their own businesses, dont they? If I had all of your skills I'd live off an Etsy store-style business for handmade toys/furniture while working on a video game (that requires elaborate storytelling, music compositions, and all the philosophy and wisdom one would usually tap into for any novel)
But I bet you have an unrealistic dream for every one of your trades, don't you
Yasumi Ⓥ :You are now my agent... I'm a maker, not a marketer. I like how you think.
Thomas Walz me too. I am a civil engineer and a singer songwriter and play in bands people on both sides of the fence give me hate for the other. am I really a weirdo like they think?
I'm in a similar boat, what i've learned is that people who do many things are afraid if they commit to one they wont have time for the others. I'd suggest, write down the top 3 interests, Focus on being the best at the top 1 and make the other 2 weekend hobbies. Try this for a set amount of time like 3 months and see how it goes.
@thomas Here is an advice for you from my experiecne.
I am a motorcyclist, writer, blogger, psychologist, jewellery designer and harcore gamer. I always assumed that there is no market for me. Until I created my business of starting a psychology research institute. where we catered kids and stuff,
the main part comes here -
because I had so many hobbies, I had learnt something about human emotions and business, so when people a[pproached me for their business I knew how to do it.
and now my biggest source of income is business consultancy, why? because people saw me do so many things and yet create a successful business all by myself.
They wanted to know how I did it. and now I am on the board of 4 companies :) :) and run my jewellery retail brand, and a psychosomatic institute and consult business house :) it all came back to me now. BTW - all of you who are wondering how I manage all of these and yet have time to comment of YT and shit.
My wife and sister are part of my business too. So its not that difficult.
Marie, I love you for this. Bless you. Such important reminders. "Consider the source!!" Some of the most important advice on advice EVER. Why do we ask our under-performing, fearful friends and family over and over what we should do, or what they think of our huge dreams? Insanity.
Stephanie Ariel Fearful friends. I like that.
LOVE it!! It gives me so much hope to never be afraid to -- not only dream and dream BIG --but to also FAIL a million times if this means succeeding a million-and-one times. Thank you!
I'm going to be a lawyer. I attend law school on Saturdays, so I'm going for it! Xx
Thank you for your great content, Marie!
My current dream is to live in a van with my future dog and to travel the world with it!
It's going to be my home on wheels where I can create my art and experience all the countries I want to see.
I have a Van as my screensaver, so I constantly think about it. I know it sounds crazy but I know it is possible!
Thank you this helped. I've always had dreams my friends and family said was "unrealistic". One of them was making videos for a living, allthough I'm quite not there yet I have my own company besides my normal job, and aiming to create a full media house with creative businesses.
my unrealistic dream is to become a doctor that is also a pioneer and actually invents new ways and possibilities to help people when other's say there is no hope.
Harriett Banish That's My dream too....
There is always hope
This is my most favourite video so far.... I took it offline so that I can watch it everytime I doubt myself..... Thanks a ton.... Xoxo
The only reason someone else thinks something is impossible or unrealistic is because THEY haven't done it. Never listen to other ppl who just don't know how to build a plan and problem solve toward a goal, no matter what it is. they won't get anywhere in life except to where they've already seen other ppl go already... which means they have no belief in themselves, and no faith!!! ... the REALITY is that there is ALWAYS a way, when there is true DESIRE behind a wish!!! and if you want to do something spectacular that YOU haven't done before, but you really want to, YOU deserve it, and you CAN!
I want to bring workshops and fun to children so that they can feel competency. Supporting our youth early will help reduce the chance of mental illness and people thinking that they can't follow their dreams in the future.
I love you Marie, you are fantastic and always an inspiration. 🙂
Marie, I totally needed this video! It's like you read my mind. My goal that I've heard before is "unrealistic" from certain people is owning my own nutrition consulting business and having 300,000+ subscribers on RUclips, not for the "fame", but for the ability to get my word out to that many viewers. I want to spread the word of nutrition as a soon-to-be Registered Dietitian. Things I've heard have been "owning your own business is a lot of work... most people can't do it" or "only a few dietitians out there have their own business, it's not a big area of the field because it doesn't make a lot of money unless you're REALLY famous" ... Kind of back handed comments, that seem like they're meant to save me from the misery of finding out for myself... But I'm not most people! I am one of few who WANTS it that bad. When you mentioned in your video, the questions to ask myself when someone said something negative about my "unrealistic dreams" I realized... those people aren't risk takers and they aren't who I look to for inspirational advice. Don't want to make this excessively long, so I'll stop here. Thanks Marie.
My unrealistic dream is to pursue music and singing even though once I was told to give up on my music. I have had setbacks, but also success and I know that I can't give up on something that I love.
Hey Marie, I just want to say thank you so much for this video. I'm 21 years old & I've been struggling with starting my own stationery business + working as a freelance Graphic Design. The main issue is that I'm ALWAYS interested in finding new things or taking on different tasks that it's so hard for me to Really Key in on what I want & I end up not putting anything out there. I've decided just to go for it & I will let what I really want take over!
I am building a digital/SEO agency around family, a full time job and it's been an incredible growth experience so far. The leap will be going 100% ALL IN...
I'm working towards making not one but two UNREALISTIC DREAMS (which I have long held as goals) a reality. The first being to Produce feature films with the Hollywood elite and the second to create a multi-million dollar global business as an Entrepreneur in the wellness industry.
Come to think of it, about all my dreams seem unrealistic. I'm not certain which ones I should focus on. I guess the one(s) I get the most enjoyment from.
Fear of not earning enough, or being good enough has stopped me. Also, lack of energy or motivation at times. I have been focusing on improving those areas recently however!
I've been an independent artist for more than16 years, over the last four years the shoe dropped and this year I had to take on several jobs to bail the water out of the boat. My dream is to get every scrap of debt cleaned up so I can do what I do so well and love with all of my heart again. It's a process....but even I lost faith in the dream when things started going horribly wrong. Thanks for the pep talk.
Oh my gosh, this is so exactly how I think and what I tell people! Guard your dreams and share them with those who are believers in the impossible coming true. Write them down, speak them out loud, envision them. "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen." - Hebrews 11:1
Marie, you’ve been an inspiration in my life for over a decade. Thank you for everything you do and more importantly, for just who you are…you ROCK, woman! 🙌🙏❤️
Love love love this episode! Especially the perspective from end of life and only listen to people you admire + respect. Beautiful!! ❤️🌸

Your awesome Marie! Finally wrote it all down. Now to get to work!
Sooo true! Love this video. At first unsupportive people will point out all the negatives of your idea. But once you're successful, they'll try to say "I knew you could do it" Just go after your goals no matter what.
Thanks for this video, Marie. I've been watching MarieTV for years and it was a huge inspiration in me starting my own channel! I have some big dreams for my future, and your advice is awesome. It really comes down to not caring what any of the naysayers think, and living courageously in what I call the "expansive musts." It's doing what you must do, because it expands yourself and the world in ways that have never been seen before.
Pinkett mm. n
Omg wonderful. I really needed this advice / boost / kick! Love what you do and how you do it, Marie!
Gonna write out my Big Dream fully (after years) and crank up my Learning-Based Action now!! Thank you SO much!!
I love your channel Marie! Congratulations on another great video! Keep up the great work!

So well said! Thank you Marie :)
THAT HAIR!!!
It's always great to hear your advice and how
you break it down into steps! I'm currently on the
"action" part of it! 🎬💯
I cant keep my hands away from like button watched almost 7 to 8 videos still want more and more
thank you so much marie :)
Thank you Marie, this is now saved in my 'Hope' Playlist. This is wonderful reinforcement. I keep wanting to make blogs and RUclips videos but I often spend months afraid of picking up a pen. I'm plugging away at it though, trying to get back on that wagon and hopefully catch it the next time I fall off. *hugs*
Thank you Marie.
Great tips Marie, I absolutely love the first one, because in order to receive it you need to first believe it. Vision board should help along with writing things down and screenshotting things you want to experience on Instagram works as well, at least for me.
The only people you should listen to are the ones who've been there before.
I'm really thankful for this video.
I like the part of not giving a (you know what) about what other people think about your dreams. Anyway, its THEIR lack of ability and THEIR negativity and THEIR apprehension about it, not YOURS, so don't own their pessimism! I wish I had learned that years ago. better late than never, I guess. Thanks Marie for another beautiful video :)
Love your stuff Marie.
You are amazing! Thankx for the great enncouragement!!!
This video is so powerful, every word of it, and I like the telephone call, so realistic. :) Thanks a lot, Marie!
I can't tell what I'm dreaming off these days, because I chose a 'safe' path and invested a lot of time and money in that career. I'm a jack-of-all-trades. I can do a lot. I do a lot, learn a lot of different things. I'm resourceful. I chose a 'safe' path, something I was good at, but I didn't realize that extending myself in that area would not always be pleasant and it would cause me not to use much of my greatest strengths. So what now? This year will actually change a lot. I will not be changing careers because I have to be realistic, but it's possible to readjust the course and find something that matches what I can and like doing best.
Great video Marie! Thanks :)
There are things I wanna go after in life. My problem is I'm not entirely sure what it is I truly want and I'm scared that it'll be the wrong thing once I make my decision.
My dream is to be an actor, film maker and have my own cartoon show. I'm working towards them all but sometimes it seems so far away and even though I often have doubts, I just can't stop dreaming and thinking about it. It seems so real in my mind that I often wonder when I'm going to catch up physically to what I see in my head!
love this! needed to hear it :)
I love you Marie!! Thank you so much for what you do
Wonderful steps Marie!
Needed this. I wanna start my own home decor line to be sold in stores for all home needs. I feel its bigger than me but I feel I have to.
When I see your videos, I always have a small smile on my face, because your words always touch me and inspire me a lot, thanks.
my dream is to win a dancing contest that is held every year in my country. I've made up my mind to enter in 2018. It feels unrealistic because I've never danced in front of anyone before and because I am 28 years old now. This dance involves a lot of flexibility and acrobatics so I'm scared I'm too old to start but I've already started going to dance classes, yoga classes and training at home! I dream about entering this contest every night :)
wow! great tips!!!!
Thank you!
Not only was this EXACTLY what I needed to hear today, it was delivered in the typical lovely and entertaining way. Great work Marie! I am TOTALLY perusing my unrealistic dreams! In Action and Unstoppable!
"If they tell you that you're crazy-pants, you're probably wearing THE RIGHT pants". Marie, thank you for your wisdom and advice. Always come to your channel when in (self-)doubt. P.S. Love the "realistic dream" part :D
I really enjoyed that. Thanks Marie ❤︎
very useful reminders. thanks marie
WOW!!! so thankful and grateful i found your channel, you have and are truly inspire and encourage me to fullfill a 15 plus year desire I've had to have a business that i love 😊😉 thank you. Keep being you please👍
My dream is to create a positive. ongoing and global movement for loving oneself and others. I remember standing in front of my mirror more than a year ago, thinking "I don't even like myself" - that moment was beyond painful. Now I think it's outrageous that every baby is born with the knowledge it is loveable and enough (have you ever smiled at a baby and seen it turn away thinking "I'm not good enough"? "Maybe I'm too ugly?" - sure that doesn't happen), yet as adults so many of us feel that pain, and fear. It's a totally twisted, wrong belief system that collapses when you look at it closer. This is why I want to share what I learned with as many people as I can reach. Yes sometimes I'm afraid - old fear of not being good enough/being a failure can creep back- but I am working on it step by step, e.g. building my own website, getting myself out of a low etc-
Awesome video Marie 😊
Thank you so much !
This Video really helped me ;)
I hope you have a great day 😘
You make awesome content, #3 really impacted me. Now i just have to constantly remind myself of these 5 things and i know ill be successful.
Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! i heard this before I even entered the real estate market in another phase of my career - how "difficult if not impossible" it would be to make a mid-career change... Marie you are brilliant thank you! One I like - "The impossible is just another problem to solve." ~ Phillip Stone, President Sweet Briar College
Great tips. Love the tweetable! Thanks for sharing!
This is why I LOVE marie
Thank you for your advice. I have been deeply frustrated these days. Cos I reallized my job that almost everyone admires was not my dream job. If I quit my job then my mom is going to kill me. But I don't want to be safe and stable. I want to develope myself and achieve something better than safety. I will keep in my mind your tips. Thank you again from Korea.
you are sooo incredibly inspiring
