I just got an NX450h+ and had a bit of a hard time finding, in the manual, some of the options I wanted to change. Your video, which uses the same infotainment system as the 450h, allowed me to find 3 of the options I could not find in the manual! It is clear and well done, thank you very much Gary!

I got to test drive a 350 but didn't have much time with the infotainment system. Also, happy to see a fellow Android user giving us the lowdown on how to get good app function use via Android Auto on the NX.

Hi Gary, Like to ask if u know your new NX infotainment system supports double byte character set in native mode. To clarify, I am referring to the ability of the system (without using Apple Car Play or Android Auto) to display Asian characters like Chinese, Korean and Japanese. Also, the system's prompts and messages remain in English. That means if I have a USB stick with Chinese songs (Chinese song titles and Chinese artist names) and insert that into the USB port, the display on the infotainment system will show the labels Title and Artist in English and Title and Artist content in Chinese. Present infotainment systems from the Lexus UX, RX and NX (last gen) will show the content characters as "???" - I have done the test in those cars. I have also perform similar tests on German makes (2016 BMW 328d, 2018 BMW X5 3.5d, 2018 MB GLC, 2019 Audi Q5) and they were able to display the characters properly. If the above is of no interest to u, please ignore and my sincere apologies for the long message. Thanks.
That's a very good question and yes it does display Asian characters on the infotainment. I have some Korean, Japanese songs on my Spotify list and it shows those characters if that's what you mean. Hope this helps!

Yes it's a subscription base but I got a free trial. Honestly the lexus navigation is worthless to me since Google Maps is way better. The 9.8 can have it, if the navi option is added to the car
How long is the Nav trial period for a 14” screen….and are there any other “subscription” s we need to be aware of? Love your videos and yours is the exact car we have coming into the port on Mar22. Yep I also project Waze or google map through carplay and it’s way better than the Lexus navigation. The most recent cars i had all with Navigation feature but i never used them. Kinda useless
I bought NX450h Plus and very disappointed . This car don't have on board navigation system. I have to buy monthly subscription to get navigation. Tell me WHY I HAVE TO PAY $15/$25 extra?And the worst part is even if I have subscription and I am at urban areas I can't find way to come out from that area. Because I don't have cell service. And next worst part is that I can't connect usb(memory card/sd card) to listen my own music or watch videos while I was parked . on my older Lexus I have it all. This new system is killing me. now I have to buy Garmin navigator and stick on 14 inch screen.I will exit from Lexus once my 5 year payment gone. (may be earlier )

You should of gotten the GPS. It's really good . For the times when your in an area with no phone signal
I am rarely traveling outside of areas with phone signal and if I am, it's okay I know the roads pretty well

Nav has a free 3 year trial with the large screen on the NX
Btw I work for Toyota so i am probably biased but the nav system is really good and uses google point of interest data.

There is but it's more complicated than the android auto process
