preminger is charismatic and dramatic, yes. i love his expressions! preminger is an ok villain as he is more of a straightforward and traditional villain than wenlock and rothbart who are both more complex. wenlock and rothbart's characters on the other hand have richer backstories. rothbart has a tragic villain origin story and his snarky remarks are unintentionally funny while wenlock combines his sassy attitude with regal bearing making him charming especially given the dark themes in his barbie movie challenge the typical barbie narrative.

As much I loved this movie as a kid, I still find it a little funny that the parents look exactly the same in the flashback as present day when Annika wasn’t even born yet😅 I wonder how long it was after that when they decided to have another child
The Queen must have been pregnant with Annika. Possibly she was even born but too young to remember. Thing is how did this girl make it to her mid/late teens without finding out she wasn't an only child?

yeahh mine was the 3d movie but i did watch it as much as other barbie movies because of the fact that i had to use the glasses. rewatching when i was older, i was surprised how much i remembered since i felt like i rarely ever played it.
This movie is the most wild in my opinion, like you have a genuinely evil guy who just abuses his wives and kidnaps girls and the love interest had a gambling problem like these are dark themes that no other Barbie movies tackles

I think the best barbie villain is HANDS DOWN Preminger. He doesn't give the same mansplain energy as this villain or Rothbar but he's got this sassy twink energy that is unrivaled (and he gets to sing a villain song)

So this was the first movie my best friend and I watched together back in kindergarten. Also, did you know they did bloopers for this movie? Fully animated bloopers. They are my favourite part of this movie.

After watching this movie I used to always practice ice skating on the tile floor in my family’s house. Always wanted to learn how to ice skate but to scared I’ll get hurt. Edit: I just remembered this. The DVD of this film came with paper 3d glasses. Some season were rendered in 3d, like the ogre/giant scene for example.

my family had this dvd with the 3d option and the glasses... it's even worse when Shiver is jumping out of the screen at you.
I now realize every answer to creating the wand of light was a huge ass stretch. I mean the measure of courage? The string just happened to be there, and happened to be the only thing she could use to get out of the giant’s pot. It also just happened to be her exact height, which was too convenient. But what actually got her out of that situation was her brains, it had nothing to do with the string. Now I get why Brietta never found the wand by herself. Somehow Dawn showed hope, and the sun shining on a icy mountain symbolized a gem.
