This movie introduced me to Raquelle before Life in the Dreamhouse, and I can confidently say I am in love with her. She is the right amount of mean girl but also not really mean, and the fact that she and Barbie reconciled afterwards was a nice touch of character growth in my opinion
I’m still mad at Greta Gerwig for making the Barbie live-action movie without Raquelle, I doubt she didn’t know this character she just chose not to have her 🙄
she said herself she was not one of those people who played Barbie growing up. I kind of feel like she only knew Barbie when she was given the task to make the movie itself that’s why her Barbies and Kens were so rooted to Dolls that made history (?) and not really the media ones like the movies and series that really made Barbie still significant up until today.
@@amateurbarnaby but it felt like she made a research but then she quit in the middle of it, I mean there a few little details that they changed or did wrong, for instance Barbie’s full name in the end of the movie, she used the name Barbara Handler (because of Ruth Handler) but the character canonically has a full name which is Barbara Millicent Roberts and by using her creator’s last name it implies that she never had an identity before which is not the case. Also the way they represented the “Growing Up Skipper” doll, I already knew that because my aunt had one when she was little and she showed me her comercial, the thing is the doll looked like a tween and then you turned her arm she got 1/2 inch taller and yes her breasts grew as well but it was very subtle but in the movie they showed her as an adult-body doll and said the only thing that “grew up” in her when you turned her arm was her breast size (they were already big and got even bigger) they sexualized the character just to make fun of how weird it was. And at first I thought they didn’t include characters such as Teresa, Nikki, Kelly, Ryan or Blaine (he would have been a perfect fit for Simu Liu instead of just another Ken) because they didn’t know about them (because Greta’s research wasn’t that deep) but then in the ending credits their dolls were shown there even though these characters aren’t even mentioned in the movie itself, so she did know about them but she chose not to have them in the movie
@@lauracerqueiramachado8979 No I was disappointed too. The only non Barbies/Kens were a singular Allan and a singular Midge. Soooo many more beloved Barbie characters could've been included. If a sequel is ever made I'm not watching it if Raquelle isn't in it at all. If these older cartoons can include Kelly, Teresa, and many others in just one film- then surely it can be done in live action?
This movie is one of my favorite Barbie movies. Ken was such a highlight.

So, idk if its because I'm an editor or if its obvious, but i took a couple months off, and i see some major changes here! The editing is fire (especially with react gate running rampant and people not understanding the difference between someone who reacts and someone who doesnt and just sits there...the film is cut so well! Like nobody could complain about your film use and it lets you shine so well!) And holy subscribers batman! I saw the subs and it made me a bit emotional haha ive been here since under 10k and watching you grow has been a pleasure.

Meaning - don't just guess what people are thinking ex1) don't just assume someone doesn't want to be your friend ex2) just because your friend is constantly busy don't just assume they can't do an activity with you (they may make room for you in their schedule or already have time free) ex3) just because your friend isn't talking to you don't just cast them out of your life talk to them about it first

this film, if i remember correctly, is a sequel to fashion fairy tale and one of the characters in this was also in fashion fairy tale as a famous designer, but for some reason barbie is surprised in this movie to find out about fairys when they were in the previous movie, i may be wrong but that's how i remember it

@@Bladesmessofplaylists I think Barbie movies aren't always in order when in comes to timeline, kinda like X-Men. That's why I think this is a prequel to Fashion Fairy Tale instead of the other way around cause then Barbie being so shocked at the existence of real fairy verses her being so cool with those little fairies in Fashion Fairy Tale would make sense.
This was one of my favorite barbie movies when I was little. Now as an adult it just leaves me confused.
Also as a side note I would recommend Barbie Princess Charm School for your next barbie movie. Its not too bad all these years later

Barbie and The Nutcracker is one i watch almost every year (i am 26). It is pretty.good minus the rock monster thing. Also Barbie and the 12 dancing princesses is a great movie IMO.

This is just a fun theory but if fairies can die (they never say in the movies if fairies are immortal or not), I wonder if they maybe donate their wings so humans or wingless fairies can fly. OR if a fairy is banned for serious crimes (like telling the fairy secret or something), if their memory gets wiped and their wings get taken away so they have to live on Earth as a normal human.
