Barbie was actually born with magic, but didn't know about it - never asked for it really - and it just didn't manifest in her own world, whereas Malucia as mentioned very early on was born without any magic at all and wanted it so they're actually quite different (I found Alexa quite humble, but that's me) - plus the fact Alexa was also born a princess as Malucia was, wearing a tiara didn't make her a tiara in the other world, she already was one :)

I think they put so much effort into Malucia they literally forgot to do something for Barbie's character. But you do need a good villain, so I'll give them props for that. Villains can be hard to do. Especially in kids movies.

This! I enjoyed most Barbie movies as an adult, but this one just wasn’t grabbing me. I decided I just couldn’t do it when the mood whiplash “you’re here” song played. At first I was thinking, “Are they really gonna surprise me with a decent song?” I changed my mind so fast haha Maybe I judged too harshly, and the movie gets better, but I just don’t think its for me. Glad I got to see Welchy react though!

This is the movie that starts the absolute downfall of Barbie movies. Hopefully mattel will go back to making good movies like they did in the 2000's after the Barbie live action comes out.
As a Fairytopia trilogy fan, hearing Welchy say the secret door world was aesthetically pleasing made me gasp in utter disbelief. This world looks utter trash compared to the unbelievably gorgeous scenery in all 3 movies. Once he sees Mermaidia, even he will be disgusted that this movie got to such a low standard. Colors here are saturated like there's no tomorrow, the color palette is so static that it barely changes throughout scenes or throughout the world building and it all looks like the colors were inverted, not to mention how plastic it all looks. Back then, the fairy and mermaid trope was still fresh and exiting, but by the time this movie came out, it passed it's prime and it didn't help that the creators made uninspired design and concept choices.
Princess and the pauper, and island princess are my favourite barbie movies I 100% recommend. And Preminger from Princess and the Pauper is the best villain haha

And when she sang the lines where she wants all the unicorns and their magic in the horns suddenly there was the scene where Harry sees what is happening to the unicorn. But it was her face edited on Voldemort. So that it looks like she did that. I laughed so hard at this scene 😂
